Not as prestigious, maybe, but the average German uni student is much higher than the regular US one that will probably get anxiety, drpression and a whole more problems cause of stupid school loans

If you are an international student from outside of the EU then there will be fees but they are way lower than anything you will find in the UK or US.

In Poland we apply based on our score on a exam, a SAT type one, some art schools and medical ones require an entry exam. Also if you wanna study something where there is some risk, you must have a document from a doctor
As someone who has attended a few different colleges to get my professional degree, the best advice I can give is research the college and the stuff that it’s most proud of. Even if you have no interest in it personally, mention it in your essay/letter (as applicable) and talk about it while expressing some interest. It shows that you actually looked into the school at more than a superficial level and makes them more willing to take you in. It’s not the best, but the last school I went to I was most interested in the location (I needed to be near family). I knew that saying “your school is close to home” always looks terrible. So I researched their programs, the stuff they brag about most on social media, etc. and talked about it in my applications and interview. I really wasn’t interested in a lot of them, but it got me a seat and after that you have the freedom to do what you will. Never mention ranking, stereotypes, rumors, location, or show indifference. You want these places to believe you want to be there with every fiber of your being.

My interviews had a "why this uni" question and I simply went with the "I'm not from here so I don't know anyone who could give me their personal experience but from all my research this uni is ranked highly in ranking xyz in these categories that matter to me because xyz" with some more detail and a bit about what they do different from the other unis offering my degree too. Talking about rankings isn't bad you just have to do it right. If you talk about it superficially then yes, it's superficial. If you talk about it as part of the extensive research you have done about the uni and explain the specific significance of the rankings to you, sure, you can talk about it.

Hey Gohar, can you also do tips for high school? I know a lot of people tell me I'm still young(starting 7th) but I want to have at least a bit of things planned out so I don't stress to much when it's finally time to start picking high schools.
I answered the Why Us question for another college and I was straightforward and said why I felt the college was a good match for me. I got in but I decided to go to a community college instead because I realized the community college would let me take a lighter load of classes per semester and graduate at the pace that would allow me to be most successful, and I was right.
