Perfect instructions for what I need, thank you! I enjoyed the science explanation too, o never thought I'd hear about an exo or endothermic reaction in a diy lol
THANK YOU SO MUCH! Of all the things I normally fix, when I chipped my most favorite mug I wasn't sure what I could use to dye the epoxy.....pastel dust was BRILLIANT! Thank you, again!!!!
I'm not even through my first viewing, but I like this video even though I'm not sure if I'm going to do it. Love the way the instruction and everything is so clear
@@MoonNixx Yes! Sorry that I didn't specify in the video. Need to create dusty particles for this to work well. And sometimes it takes some trial-and-error to color-match. I used Koss brand square pastels: amzn.to/35IBuz1
Thanks for the video. I have a chipped soap ceramic bottle. Will this fix help with it too? I also have some cracked wooden coasters. Please suggest a fix for those too.
Hi. This fix will work for a ceramic bottle. For a cracked wooden coaster, it's a different fix. We recommend cleaning it, sanding the cracked area, then overfill the crack with some wood filler. You may be able to find wood filler that is a similar color. If you can't find a perfect match, we would use the closest match, and then consider using a wood stain on all of the coasters so the set matches. Minwax makes small, easy-to-apply toothpaste tube-sized wood stain in a variety of colors. After the filler is dry, then sand it smooth. We would then clear sealing the entire coaster set to help prevent further cracking.
The epoxy is fine to microwave BUT cured epoxy and ceramic will heat up differently so there could be an issue caused by the mircrowave. However, I have heated up mugs that have this fix, and haven’t had an issue. If it’s a beloved mug, I wouldn’t do it.
I haven't tried it on stoneware. I suspect it would. However, the epoxy gives the finish a glossy appearance, so I wouldn't use it on a matte-finish stoneware.

This is so nice. Thank you.
OMG! I hv that (almost- I hv activated charcoal powder & eyeshadow). I’m going to try it!! Thank you!!! 🙏🏽
Great tutorial!! I'm not sure why no one makes a kit for this, or why its not easy to find good repair instructions like this for ceramics.
Hey thanks!

Are you kidding? Thank you! Sip happy.

Hi, Thank you for the video. Once cured, is the epoxy microwave safe?
Technically, it is. It probably won't heat the same as the surrounding ceramic, so I wouldn't risk it.
Great video! Please let us know what pastels you used as well as the type of epoxy. Thanks!
I used a two-part epoxy from Gorilla Glue and Koss brand square pastels: amzn.to/35IBuz1
Thank you very helpful ❤
We try.
Aapoxy is not food grade. Can you place repaired ceremic cups or dishes
with apoxy glue can be placed in microwave?
Hi! Thanks for your video and science lesson! What kind of pastels do you use? Oil pastels or the non toxic more chalky ones?
i tried oil and it didn't spread the color, so i think it's probably the more chalky ones
The chalky kind. They create a really fine dust when scraped with a sharp knife.

Thank you so much for the info!!

This is awesome!
We love that you love this!
You can regulate the cure time with epoxies by adjusting the amount of curing agent. Usually it is set so you have the correct chemical ratios.
Thank you. This is good to know.

Can the mug still be microwaved now that it has apoxy resin on the chip?
The epoxy is fine to microwave BUT cured epoxy and ceramic will heat up differently so there could be an issue caused by the mircrowave. However, I have heated up mugs that have this fix, and haven’t had an issue. If it’s a beloved mug, I wouldn’t do it.
hair is so cute
Once cured is it dishwasher safe?
I wouldn't put it in the dishwasher because of the high temperature. And cured epoxy and ceramic can react differently to heat.
Recommended products for fixing the mugs?
Yes! The names of the products and links are in the description.
can you use this on baking ceramic dishes?
I wouldn't bake a dish that has this fix. The epoxy heats up differently than the ceramic, so there could be issues.
Does this work on stoneware?
I haven't tried it on stoneware. I suspect it would. However, the epoxy gives the finish a glossy appearance, so I wouldn't use it on a matte-finish stoneware.
Great video. Would you turn off the music please though as it’s distracting?
We'll keep it in mind for next time. And thank you very much.
