I have never posted a comment on youtube, but I had to for you. Your name is so perfect for you, Joy. Your smile, your voice, your enthusiasm for your life and goals is captivating. I love watching planner videos, but so many are just the set-up and not how they are using them in their daily life. I am a very visual person and learn best by watching examples/demonstrations. Your videos are giving me so many ideas on what would work for me, areas to focus on, sections I should have in my planner, and how to use it for so much more than just a calendar. I am waiting for my first filofax, an A5 purple Malden. I use the Erin Condren Life Planner now and am going to take it apart to transfer to my filofax. Anyway, like I said, you are the first person I felt I had to thank for their videos. Thanks for the inspiration.
Molly Hill Your words have really touched me. Thank you so much for this. I am super visual as well and I absolutely love sharing this stuff. I never thought my planner would be as impactful as it is today. Your first Filofax... ah how exciting! I hope you enjoy the process of setting up your new Filo!
Trial and error. I love paper-planning so much that I just have to find, implement and/or come up with a solution for things that aren't working. Thank you!
The thing that strikes me is the way you keep your eyes and mind on the bigger picture all the time by using you planner. You take care of the daily items and clearly have focus about them and a system for them, but you seem to make good use of your planner (in multiple ways) to keep elevating, broadening and deepening your focus. And that is just cool and very helpful to see! Thank you for sharing all this! :)
My Context board is a flyleaf that I cut down (both sides are hole-punched) just so I can see my Tackle section when i'm on the opposite page of the week as well. You're very welcome and thanks so much!
I have watched many filofax organization videos, but yours is the best. I swear, I think in addition to our names (my middle name is Joy), you seem to think like me as well. I really wish you had a blog. Great organizational ideas on time management and bill tracking! :-)
I normally don't comment on channels of strangers but I LOVE your videos! Half of the views are probably mine because I watch them over and over. I love clean organized and simple planner videos. I'm not a huge crafty person so your planner is just my style. Keep up the good work! I LOVE your videos!
when I first bought my FF, I found your videos, and thought they were so crazy organized. It was kind of intimidating. But now, i LOVE them! It's really helped me, since im still in college. :) Please keep uploading!
To plan for the week ahead, I follow my "process weekly" routine (shown under my rituals list). And the first step is usually to write down my recurring actions (shown on my weekly board). I track assignments in my capture section (shown in previous vid, part 1). I track assignment due dates using brown dots (shown near end of vid).
Okay, I am your stalker now, I have watched your videos a few times during the past days because I absolutely love your system. I keep watching the videos and I am taking notes on your focus section particularly, as well as this one because you have inspired me to create my own focus section. I recently got hired for my "dream" job and I want to implement some of your ideas in my work planner. I only wished you kept making videos, these days it's all about decorating and although I love decorating, my planner is used for that: To plan! Your videos are amazing. Thank you for the fantastic ideas. :) (Please make more videos?)
Yes I write them on my weekly pages as well. Everything that needs to get done on a certain date gets written on my weekly pages because that's the section I check everyday.
Great video! I love the idea of keeping a count of each of the items you work on for the week. I'm going to implement that in my planner! Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate your awesome words! Of course no prob, more than glad you found some useful info. It's the first and only paper cutter that I have actually. I got it earlier this summer. Sometimes I get a straight cut, sometimes it's a teeny bit off (thought it was just me though) and then the edges of cut paper started to get a teeny bit jagged, but it feels too soon to change the blade. Eh i'll just leave it be for now ;p
I find that what takes time is the tweaking part but once I know the system I want to stick to, all I have to do is set time aside to plan for the week ahead and I like playing music in the background while I do so ;) It could take up to 30mins to an hour (once a week) depending on how many steps/things there are to clear/write down. Then up to 5 mins or so each night planning for the day ahead. In the end, it all saves me time from wasting time thinking when and what i'm supposed to do next.
OK I have to tell you that I have set up my own planner with a focus section and I love it. This is working for me. Because you made this video I was able to organize my priorities better. I went to the life management website and read through it. Thank you so much for sharing this info. Ps. I can't wait for your next video.:))
The only bad thing about your videos is when they end :( You are so much fun! There is a Filofax group on Facebook & I've seen your vids come up in discussion all the time :) More, More, we want more!! haha
A year ago your videos were the ones that inspired me to finally buy a Filofax after dragging my feet, and now these updates have brought me some more great ideas! I absolutely LOVE your sections and how you set it up but I was just wondering how much time do you put into it? The writing, flagging, and planning part? I feel like I'm putting in too much time and barely getting any time profit out of it. I think adding a goal or "FOCUS" section would make me more optimistic about it though.
Also, how do you add new things when you plan a week ahead? And, how do you keep track of due dates/course assignments and when you have you prepare for them? Thanks!
I am only sad that I can only Like your videos once! You're just awesome! (BTW, the symbols showing In Progress and More Info... Freaking GENIUS. Totally stealing that idea, if that's ok. I'll give all credit to you, I promise!) (Another aside... I have the same Fiskars paper trimmer, but I *swear* either the vertical lines or the little "stopper" at the bottom to rest the paper is crooked. Hmm.)
Ummmmmm you're energy and positivity are AMAZING and I LOVE LOVE your system!! I'm so inspired xoxoxo

Thanks! Its keeps me on track of using any available time wisely instead of wasting time feeling like there's no time left.
Thank you so much and keep them videos coming! I have never enjoyed watching planner/filofax organizing as much as I have yours! Awesome and love it!
