Larry Parks did not sing these. He lip synced to jolson's recordings made fresh for the two films these come from. Jolson himself not Larry Parks IS the one doing the song swanee in this great film though. That's why it was shot at such a distance. Parks did a superb lip syncing job to jolson's recordings though, and putting feeling into them with his movements etc, and did great acting in the Jolson story, and the sequel film jolson sings again. The first show biz bio pics ever. HUGE jolson fan here since first hearing that magic voice as a kid in the 1960s via an old 78rpm record on my mom's wind up victrola that was Grandma's originally😊
He was fantastic too bad. There was such a scandal attached to Larry parks. He could have been a top star, great personality! I saw this movie at least Six times. Larry parks nailed Al Jolson all the way!

The title of this is MISLEADING AS HELL since Parks did NONE OF THE ACTUAL SINGING !! Jolson recorded ALL of the songs JUST FOR THIS MOVIE and all Parks did WAS LIP SYNC THEM which he did EXTREMELY WELL !
