The problem with fish oil capsules is they usually contain soybean oil which contradicts the benefits of taking them in the first place. I prefer to eat a tin of oily fish per day but will definitely look further into krill oil now that you've mentioned it
@@aadishjain7454 it's good for balancing your cholesterol and heart health in general. It's also good for cognitive function and is also a great source of a powerful antioxidant astaxanthin. I personally also believe that it's helped with joint pain but it's speculation on my part.
Been using Krill oil for a few months now. It's sourced from the oceans near Antarctica, so even less polluted. The fact that it naturally contains astaxanthin is another selling point, an excellent antioxidant! Helping to protect the oil. In Europe you can buy a fish oil called MorEPA that is low temperature filtered, plus I believe it's in the free fatty acid form (EPA), not the triglyceride form.
Krill oil also contains Astaxanthin, a potent antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, which beside his health benefits also protects the oil from going rancid.
I use between 7-10 capsules of omega 3 per day (950mg active EPA/DHA total per capsule). I notice a big difference using this amount as opposed to 3 per day like most folk. However, I'm a 120kg bodybuilder so I would need more to offset the poor 3:6 ratio. They're definitely more cost effective if you don't want to spend a fortune on krill oil. If you eat oily fish most days it probably takes out the need to supplement :)
I eat cod liver! I order a canned brand that Dr Ken berry recommend! It is one of the few food sources of vitamin D3!! And I really like the taste of it!! I rather eat the liver than take the oil...
Looking at the nutritional value, Fish Oil seems to be the only one with good levels of EPA (e.g. 665mg) and DHA (e.g. 440mg), while Cod liver and Krill oil have maybe 50mg. What are the implications of this?
I only take Rosita cod liver oil, as it's the only brand I just. I'm not interested in the others although I have tried them, just with no success. Cod liver oil during a Canadian winter is a godsend.
My source for omega-3s is Algal oil, which is made from microalgae. The microalgae is the origin of marine omega-3s. Small fish feed on the microalgae and the omega-3s go up the chain from there. You also avoid any potential contaminants by going to the original source. 😀
Fish oil is easy to get. Never heard of Krill oil until now. I'll have to search local. Thumbs up extra for hair today. And I'd wear that shirt. Hopefully it says steak rules.
Can you make a video on water? What type of water to drink tap, mineral water, spring, reverse osmosis, distilled ect.. also how much of it like 8 glasses or a gallon a day ect..
Thanks Kait. It's been cod liver oil in a bottle from the health food store, for me, although am not a fan of the taste but have it regardless. Krill oil sounds really good so may go that route next!
Hi Kait .. i want to start taking the omega 3 fish oil 1000mg capsule made by Biogen in my country .. is it advisable.. thanking you in anticipation.. lotsa love from Johannesburg South Africa xxx
Hi Kait, thanks for info on Krill oil. I have been wondering about it. Can you provide any guidance on Australian brands of cod liver oil and krill oil. I was using Melrose premium omega cod liver oil but it definitely oxidized quickly 😭
Big fan of cod liver oil especially in autumn/winter months. Have just started taking together high vitamin butter oil and cod liver oil (not the fermented one), as Weston Price recommend their combined nutrient profile. It will be interesting to see if I notice any changes eg skin joints teeth hair etc. Have you tried this combo before?
usually the brand they promote are not the ones they usually use. most of thr time it’s all a scam. Do your own research into krill, cod liver and omega and loo at reviews and judge yourself
@@kandaman304 I hate to write that, but we know how this world works, lol. But there are plenty on amazon to purchase that are pretty good quality. Astaxathin alone is a great supplement. I take krill, astaxathin and liquid cod liver oil throughout the day along with a pretty clean diet and my eyes have improved from 6.75 and 5.75 to 5.50 in both eyes because of it. Miracle!
@@paulwoodford1984 Hi Paul, am an avid Amazon shopper, can you tell me which supplements specifically you are taking? krill, astaxanthin (I've taken these in the past and it didn't do sh*t for me), and liquid cod liver oil?
Kait girl, I know it's oot, but do you have some knowledge on muscle fibers? Namely, can tipe 2 use ketons? I know those are the glycogen fibers, but I'm not eating nearly enough carbs to top that up, or do I just have some freakish metabolism going on?
I use a medical grade fish oil. Not cod liver oil. Not sure if there are any medical grade cod liver oils. Pretty sure you can’t get medical grade krill oil. If you don’t care about pollutants. Then any are fine.
I've purchased the Omega3 from Primal Blueprint, but I live in Canada so it's not convenient. I don't like the idea of krill simply because it's not a food we'd naturally eat
I eat flying fish and salmon roe not processed fish oils, i once discovered oxidized fish oil and it was gross , all these oils will oxidize ! Its important to balance Omega 3 and 6 and not to overdo Omega 3
I take cod liver oil Mermaids brand and buy online from www.mermaidsaustralia.com. I think you may have mentioned this brand in one of your videos (?) and that's how I discovered it. I started with 10 ml per day for a few months and have reduced it to 5 ml. This product comes from Norway, has a pleasant taste and customer service if fast and efficient.
In my humble opinion... Anyone that offers a discount code for anything...is biased!! You can't trust their personal opinion because they will always resort to whatever product their pushing.
I find that most fish oils are 'cut' with other oils like vegetable oils to give the buyer a bigger buy or it's used as a 'carrier oil'. To extract all the omega 3 oil from fish is really hard to do and you would certainly end up with less than is in demand. Have a look at the ingredients in some of the common brands. The best way to get your daily omega 3 dose is to drink the juice that comes from a can of sardines in spring water.
What's your main source of omega 3s?
lamb brains!
frogzz 2017 I haven't worked up the courage to try brain yet 🤪
i eat some fish every day.
Cod liver, sardines, mackerel, and eggs yolk.
Salmon roe and cod liver in its own oil.
been using cod liver oil, this is such a great topic, such confusion on what omega 3s are best

How come tho? The brand I use doesnt have that in the ingredients.
Fish out of tins is well known for aggravating and triggering gout.
I take Krill Oil every day...in addition to a can of sardines or anchovies 4 days a week and one meal of salmon once a week.
Love to stir some smoked salmon in to my tartare...
Can you please tell me long term benifits of krill oil which you felt while taking it..and is it good glfor reducing cholesterol and triglycerides?
