Lock Keeper Portumna is tum like your tummy Great trip. Brings back so many memories of 9 years on the Shannon with my kids. So many more hidden gems to see. You barely scratched the surface. You could do it over and over without revisiting any one spot. Still feels like we gave it up too soon. I hope you get to come back sometime and do some more. Loch Derg. Loch Key. Kayak up past Drumshambo. Leitrim. Carnadoe. The inner lakes at zcoosan point. Mountshannon. Killaloe.
Thanks for all of the tips! We'd love to come back and you are correct, there seems to be so many more places to explore. We feel that way about all of Ireland, we can go back and again and again and always find something new. Cheers!
I agree, so many places are expensive when traveling. But it is surprisingly affordable to rent a boat on the Shannon. It works out to be a better deal than staying in a hotel and if you share with family or friends it can be quite reasonable. I hope you get the chance one day. Thanks for watching.

Wonderful! Thanks for sharing this adventure.
Thank you for watching! We are so glad you enjoyed it!

Incredible! Thank you for posting this, didn’t know anything about this option
Glad it was helpful! Doing a self drive houseboat tour is so much fun. We've done four of them. 2 in Canada, one here and another in France.
That was a lovely video. Thanks for holiday in Ireland
Glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for watching!
❤😊
Thank you!
WOW!!! THis is a great vidoe , one that I will look into. Really? Rent a whole boat? Awesome.
It is an amazing trip! And we actually quoted our price for 6 people which I wasn't clear at. Boats can be rented for a week for about $1300 usd.
Yeah..a man can dream

I couldn't help but notice that Gings (Pub on the river bank) has not burnt down in this video, when did you guys film this?
This was filmed in Summer 2022.
👏👏👏🌹👏👏👏

is there lots of immigrants there? i live southern ontario and i'm the last canadian.
And if there are immigrants, what? Very stupid comment.

i'm just wondering if ireland is ruined yet like canada, chill.
@@ninecatsandaboxofwine , the whole world is ruined, especially Europe, after USA screwed up the whole arabian world with their stupid wars.
@@ninecatsandaboxofwine Are you a native American otherwise you are of immigrant heritage making you part of what you are calling a problem ?
there is lots of immigrants far too many arriving for Ireland to handle without harming the country@@ninecatsandaboxofwine
what are you guys wearing around your necks?
Correction. Ireland is NOT part of the British Isles, brother, begging your pardon..
Well it's part of the western isles. I wouldn't get too hung up on modern history. It's the ancient history you should get excited about.

Big tooth commentary, good vibe though...
I don't really know what you mean, but thanks for leaving a comment! Cheers.
