In my lifetime I have been lucky enough to see a lot of great guitar player's and Bill was the best i have ever seen.
I saw him during the Disfarmers tour, in a small city close to Paris. Great memories of a lovely evening

Gosh I never knew Tele's were used for Jazz music sounds great most, well at least I do, think of country music or maybe blues, another feather in the cap of the good ole Tele, Peace !

Loads of jazz guys used them! Frisell, Ted Greene, Ed Bickert, Julian Lage. A telecaster can do pretty much anything

@@mononoaware1960 yeah I'm getting reacquainted with my MIM Telecaster, it's a cheap one but I got lucky the neck is amazing and believe it or not the neck has a load of amazing tiger stripes( I don't remember the term) I think Fender put on the wrong neck bc this neck should have never been put on a MIM Guitar lol Anyway i'm just getting back into Teles , is there a specific tele type that you love the most, I want to get another one. Thanks !

Hm, I am a huge Frisell fan, and his playing is excellent as always, but to me this guitar sounded pretty bad and had some serious intonation problems.
Yeah definitely doesn't really sing either. The space in frisells playing needs a guitar that sings.
@@AllenThome Probably doesn't have thick enough strings. My Tele sounds wayyyy more jazz appropriate with 12s than with 09s or 10s like every guitar shop uses.
It looks like it has a price tag on it so it was probably one off the shelf at the venue.

Eric Fricke listen to frisell in the 80s, 90s, & even the last two decades. Frisell doesn’t play with a generic dead arch top sound at really any point, it’s rare if he does
Poor micing at its worst.
I was thinking the same but it looks like there is a mic at the amp in addition to the one closer to the camera. That said the volume isn't really there, so maybe they inserted the wrong audio track?
