I believe that there are times like this when the umpire should step in and give warnings for the obvious distractions and infantile behaviour. In this instance it backfired for Rosol because Rafa smartly retaliated and upped his game!
This is by far the most messy match I’ve seen. First the umpire should have given him warning for making that noise with his racquet during serves, I am not blaming him directly bc he might have done it all the time maybe it’s his habit, but even if it wasn’t he should have been punished for that. The umpire was very patience with Lucas that taping the floor with the racket , can be and it is consider Hindrance and a code violation , now days you can get defaulted from the game if you do that
if he had been focused on winning the match rather than bothering he would have won the match. When he was getting close to win the match you could feel that he got more and more nervous and tried to make the points shorter, which is not something he did during most of the 2 sets. Not sure why, but it feels like Rosol wanted to be better than Nadal, as if it got personal...
It should also be noted that, during their Wimbledon match, on the way to the bench during a changeover, Nadal bumped into Rosol, on purpose, because he couldn't handle that he was losing to him. Maybe the things Rosol did later on were a direct result to that.

There are plenty of things to complain about with the guy but I'm not convinced these are the problem. Rosol was playing very good. Nadal screams are way more annoying than some tapping.
He was tapping deliberately only to throw off Nadals rythm. It’s tactical but not gentlemanlike and not something you should strive to be as a tennisplayer.
