Great video. Thanks! The savings account is a great idea so glad that’s a requirement, so they have something to move on with. Seriously considering Capstone towards the end of the year...just getting our finances in order before then. Looking forward to welcoming children into our lives and home :)
I would really like to foster in the future, I'm currently doing a degree in Child Development at university. But I do worry about the financial aspect of it. I'm saving up to move out, but if I do manage to, I'd have to make sure the income is still flowing enough to live and keep up with bills. I do sell a lot of crafts and stuff online which I could do when I have no children to foster, but I barely get any profit from it. I think I'd have to get a job for a few years to ensure I have some backup money to fall on in case anything happens.
Fostertalk will help you fill in your tax return or for a small fee they will do it for you. HMRC HS236 is I think the leaflet that explains it all. Also our Fostering Agency did have FosterTalk come out to give us all a talk on Fostering and Finances.
do you get back pay for the money you have spent on the child. its been 3 week now without a penny for the child and ive had to spend my own savings to cloth feed and to get to contact and buy xmas things for him they have said i will get a bank transfer on the 3rd of jan for him but i hate to ask them about the money ive already spent xx

Great informative video. I’m at the initial stages of fostering and was wondering how I’d manage financially
Very helpful, thank you x
