Went skate skiing for the first time today. Wish I'd seen this video before I went. I'll definitely watch it right before I go again. Thanks very much for the well presented, concise tips.
I watch all your drill and I have to say you teach it in a way that make sense…I learnt once without the drill first , straight to sliding and learn to stop…gosh that scared me…thanks for sharing, I will practise it next winter….
this all makes so much more sense after you go out there and fail for an hour or two
Still in the failing phase haha

Nice! I don’t even skate ski, but I liked your presentation. Well demonstrated and well spoken.
So many good points in this instruction. 👍🏼
Excellent!
I’m going to try
You make it look easy :)
Will try this tonight!
Sick, i was looking for this to see if you could still move on flat ground without ski poles cause i wasnt sure if i really needed poles as a beginner
Thanks a lot for the video ! Took me about 2 hours to get it rolling with poles :D
Quick comment. Figure skaters and even hockey player DO push back with their skates, but to increase speed like a Speedskater YOU NEVER PUSH BACK. You actually start your push straight down from your heel when your blade is completely straight forward (hopefully not facing outwards, missing pressure) and then you fall to the side, maintaining the blade next to you, almost feeling as if you were pushing it forward. Just like you said with you skis.👍😊
Just like any book there should be an intro and the ending. Apart from that, loved the explanation. Made it clear and easy to understand how simple it is when you do it right :)
Great explanation very clear
Thank you, learned a lot from this!
Thanks for the great videos
Thanks helped alot, love from sk, rosetown
Thanks a bunch!
Thank you.
Thank you. Great help.
May I ask which type of skiing is harder on the body, skating or classic style?
And don’t forget to swing your arms!
HE GLIDES LIKE HE HAS NO GRAVITATION! But when I'm doing this I dont even move?
Body position, probably. Upright body, bent knee.
He looks like he is going downhill and probably has fresh wax too
You should try to put some wax on
See my comment over.....
what did he put in his pocket
Actually, more of his tips is wrong,. About balance your nose should clearly be over the ski, but your upper body has to be bend a little bit forward since you need that to get power for the push,
And when you stride your ski to the snow you shall push 90degrees to the side.. direction of the ski should be directly forward as much as possible
And just so you know,. This tips was given to me by the Norwegian Klæbo some years ago... And he is the best skier in the world atm
I can ski but I can't really skate XD
...and don't swing your upper body from side to side, you'll lose balance
