- In this series of videos, Peter from McBike and Sport in Smithers covers how to begin skate skiing and drills for progressing. This second video in the series covers the jump skate drill. It works on transfering weight, moving the body forward and maintaining a flat ski with the knee bent and positioned over the foot. I thing the scariest thing for me in skate skiing and any other snow activities is the speed and leaning forward towards speed, also when it comes to the hill with that thin skis is quite scary
Plough, bent your knees more and lean forward if going downhill seems too fast. Never lean back or try to slow down with your poles.

This is so true
Because we are begginers, we must try, try and try... the people you see gliding on skiis easily was once also learning and trying and falling. But to be able to learn new things is just awesome
