Hey David, Happy New Year. Tank is coming along and looking great. Great to see some Adaptive Reef in Australia too although you could have continued with your DIY to also get a custom result. I would think about a cabinet top and rear mounted downward facing or shielded vents for extra water and splash protection with ventilation. Get your Calc Reactor out of the controller box. This will give you extra space to expand equipment and eliminate potential leaks and spills inside the controller box from the reactor. Loose water lines, media top up spills, removal for major service etc. Spills and leaks will happen some time.
Hey David, I was going to say dont forget to seal all the exposed edges of that board or it will swell in no time, but I see some others have beat me to it. Thanks for letting us come along on your build in what has been a really s@$t year. Cant wait to see some coral in that tank. Happy New Year to you and family
Thanks mate got some undercoat/sealer today and will paint it all tonight! Ive loved everyone coming along the journey with me! Blows me away with so much support ❤️ Happy new year to you and your family too!
Thanks for being such a fantastic supporter of the channel i really appreciate it! Glad i got Aston on for the last video and look forward to bringing you some more good content next year! Happy new year and PEACE! ✌️
@@firsttimereefertv1588 No worries and congrats with the sponsors... such great news for you. I have a GW skimmer here in Europe but hope in the future I get the chance to get some more of those products over here ;)
Happy New Year’s Mate! Hope you and your family have a great night planned. I’d mount the two AR panels on the sides to free up the back for your logo backlight (vs a light on top). And, I would not put the CaRx and bottle in with the electrics. While the chance of a leak is low, you’ll be pulling it out a few times a year to fill and don’t want water spraying or salt build up. (I’ve learned my lesson the hard way...) I’d also get the largest co2 bottle you can get. It will save you the headache later. ;) Hope this helps mate.
Happy new year to you and the family mate! Tha ks for being a great supporter of the channel! I think this may possibly be how I mount them bt rather than either side it will be one corner! I will mount the bottle seprately but will still toy with the idea of keeping the calrx in the cabinet! See how i go 😅

I don’t understand why you are putting the controllers so far back - I would want them at the front, especially as they are basically at ground level - not 40cm deep inside your cabinet. Although, with all the remote control we have on equipment theses days, you probably never need to touch your actual plastic controllers - just do it all on your phone. Guess I’ve answered my own question! 😂 Looking forward to seeing the rest of this system as it comes to life!!
Thanks so much for incorporating these into your build! They look great!
Thanks for making them available!

Gotta love bunnings form ply. Might need to paint or seal the edges though. Fresh cut edges are not waterproof.
Its so good! They price beat a local too so got a sheet for $45!! Good point any idea whats best to seal with?
@@firsttimereefertv1588 any kind of paint will work. The more coats the better. Or clear varnish works also.
@@richardportelli1983 cheers ill get thay done!
I think the calc reactor in the center
Im feeling the same!!
Put the abs mounts on the ends rather then back wall. Ie ipad cords would go right into it and max space etc in centre
Oh that could be an option! Wont see much of the controller though 😅
Don’t forget to seal all the cut edges as saltwater takes no prisoners 🤣
Yes will definately get that done now!!

You hit the nail on th me head! Haha
Its more so theyre all illuminated nicely 😊 will rarely touch the controller itself
Thanks for watching!
