The Standard board is 15"L x 25.25"H x 3.5"W, while the deluxe model is 16.25"L x 25.25"H x 3.5"W. It'll depend on which Red Sea tank you're working with and what orientation you'd like to put the board in.
All you need to do is run an aquabus cable from the base unit to one of the energy bars. Then, run another aquabus cable from the second energy bar to either the first energy bar (daisy chain) or connect to the base unit itself. It's that simple 🙂
Adaptive Reef does offer a hinge kit, however, they've been out of stock for some time now. That said, you could easily repurpose some hinges from the hardware store to install hinges on your existing control board.
@@BRStv ah okay. can we use any particular hinges that need to hold like, a lot of weight or special screws for the board material? the boards are heavy but not like SUPER heavy. thougths?
If it is mounted in a stand or near open water, splashes and humidity become an issue. MDF, pressed board/chip board with a melamine coating etc tend to perform very poorly in those circumstances. When they get wet, they soak it up like a sponge and swell. The fact that expanded PVC is also dramatically lighter than those options doesn't hurt either :)
@@ThomasBReef it was really my wife's idea. She saw me searching for materials and asked what I was doing. After explaining it needed to hold the controller and equipment, but also be waterproof. She was like, "why not just use a restaurant cutting board?" But she said it like well that was an easy question.... this is why I love her. She is actually the source behind a lot of reefing ideas I have....
We've seen some awesome DIY controller boards over the years! The Adaptive Reef boards are great for those that don't have the tools or time and want an off the shelf solution 😀
Nice system. I built all of my own. One of the perks of building furniture for a job hahah
Could you put dossing bottles or containers on the shelf and have a doser mounted above?
Will this fit the waterbox frag 105.4 dry side?
Does the deluxe board fit the cabinets of Red Sea Reefers, or only the standard one?

Would this fit in red sea max nano cabinet ?
Yes! The standard size Adaptive Reef board fits perfectly. We actually had one in a Max Nano tank here at the BRS office not too long ago!
@@BRStv you just place the board in there? Or do you have to do something to secure it ?
We just had it leaning up against the back of the cabinet, but you certainly could use screws and attaching it in a more secure manner.
Yet again all I can say is 👍👍👍
Can you make a vedio on how to connect 2 or multiple energy bar to apex with only one base unit

hey guys... before i order another one of these from ya'll, do they (or ya'll") sell some kind of HINGE kit that i can make this swing open on?

Does anyone one know which touch screen monitor are they using?
That one is not a touch screen, just a standard PC monitor. Thomas is using a small stick PC plugged into the HDMI port and uses a wireless key pad.
I'm confused why a board you mount electronics on needs to be waterproof?

I bought a 30" x 18" x .5" polycarbonate cutting board on amazon and made my own for about $40
Really nice choice for a waterproof material!
