BECOME A PATRON TO GET SONGS/TABS: www.patreon.com/coversolutions Not sure it's the right tuning, but my info told me this was more accurate, i might be wrong. If you decide to go for Drop D just keep the positions for the E String and move all other strings 2 numbers down. Great for practicing slap and all that involves mastering it. The solo wasn't the best recording but i went with this mostly because it was executed in one take. Info about tone in the description. About harmony, the song moves mostly in A Dorian based harmonies and the use of the Blues Scale: A Dorian (Key Of G) (F's are #) I Am7 (A C E G) II Bm7 (B D F# A) III Cmaj7 (C E G B) IV D7 (D F# A C) OR D# dim (D# F# A) for this case (applied into the blues scale) V Em7 (E G B D) VI F#half dim (F# A C E) VII Gmaj7 (G B D F#)
CoverSolutions The very first note of the song is a sustained open A. There are open A notes in the pre chorus (which you can't play if you downtune) There are open D notes and an open G note in the solo (which you can't play if you downtune) and the 5th chords are on the stave, and I also hear them in the recorded version
I saw you chart this! Never have I ever been so excited to play alone that right now! I have never clicked on a notification this fast. Please please keep tabbing amazing songs for us man you ROCK!!!
Aayush yeah I can't seem to get the hang of playing "coffee shop" (mainly solos :/) so would be good to see him do it. His video on "aeroplane" was how I learnt to play it. I had a feeling that's what you meant after I commented
Hey man! Really appreciate your channel, the only one that really has taught me to play certain songs! Here are some suggestions for you in case you run out of ideas or patreons ;) RHCP - Tear RHCP - Coffee Shop Limp Bizkit - Take a Look Around Papa Roach -- Ricochet Korn - Coming Undone Falconer - Clarion Call Pantera - Walk System of a Down - B.Y.O.B Muse - Reapers Muse - New Born Thirty Seconds to Mars - The Kill Daughtry - Crawling Back to You Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven Pearl Jam - Black Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark Stay rocking!
Very nice. I personally don't think it's necessary to come out of standard tuning for this. Just open E to F, G. E's in the key, there's less emphasis on that note anyway, and it gives it an interesting sound. Also, when you're playing it live, no need to re-tune. Nice video/format. Well done.
Also, I agree this song is good for learning slap basics, and same is true for all of Flea's stuff. It's all slap basics. I love Flea, he is extremely creative and funky, but he is also a self-described "hack". So this song does not involve "all that's needed to master slap". For that, you'll need to check out Marcus Miller, Louis Johnson, Stanley Clarke, Larry Graham, Victor Wooten ... the true masters that the style was learned from by guys like Flea, Claypool, P-nut ... even Mark King (though study him as well).
Well I am not like the biggest fan but here's why nirvana is actually quite special. If you look at bands look at the time they started. Back then grunge was a no go. You had rock some metal but grunge no no. They were a revolution to music because they came out with music that was whining about literally everyting. They had no problem with public opinions. They have a song called rape me, not the friendliest name. Bands cared quite a lot about public relations but nirvana didn't. They also had Dave Grohl a revolution to drumming. He didn't play very intriqite intriquite (don't know ho0w to spell this world). He played as loud as humanly possible and tore his kit down to the bone
Real acording to what info? I'd love to see yours to come to the conclusion the tuning is drop D and not the one i propose. I have a ful stream discussing that issue and i ended up with this. I'm still open for more information about the original recording

never heard that on the bass master track that's around youtube

I don't know if i am right, but the isolated bass sounded A=450 to me.
2:33 epic moment

Great job, man!!!Greetings from Italy!!!
I'd been waiting for this for a long time. Great job! Now if we could have Coffee Shop redone with the current production quality it'd be great!
Aayush he hasn't done *coffee* *shop* before, how can he _redo_ it
Trouble in421 my bad! I was thinking about Aeroplane when I wrote this comment. Turns out my subconscious self wants a Coffee Shop playthrough too. 😛

The Cure - Fascination Street! pls!!
YESSSSSSS

I've never thought that the song was in that tuning
Emir Tunalı I like drop D better, mainly cause dropping one string is plenty quicker than dropping than all
@@roddydykes7053 its not the same part anymore though, and besides dropping your strings a whole step shouldn't take more than a minute

Stay Away from Nirvana
why should he stay away from nirvana, they've got great basslines
Ardolf Hortler so.. he played toto: Africa and that’s gotta be the most simple song out there
Well I am not like the biggest fan but here's why nirvana is actually quite special. If you look at bands look at the time they started. Back then grunge was a no go. You had rock some metal but grunge no no. They were a revolution to music because they came out with music that was whining about literally everyting. They had no problem with public opinions. Did you really detuned the entire bass for this song???? NO WAY.... Just detune E string into a D and play it real.
Real acording to what info? I'd love to see yours to come to the conclusion the tuning is drop D and not the one i propose. I have a ful stream discussing that issue and i ended up with this. I'm still open for more information about the original recording
Good info. I'll check. Thanks
CoverSolutions you have my cover of the bass solo on my channel. Flea plays it Drop D. Just take a look at his live performances.
