One thing I really enjoy about your videos is that you always present the vehicle in it's best light. An older classic like this is best appreciated for what it was designed to be in it's own era, and you always show such respect for that context. Well done. As usual.
A lovely RV, the downside is a 7.4 litre petrol V8 and don't expect to get more than 10mpg, even 8mpg is considered good in these vehicles. Many RVs of this vintage are having their petrol V8s swapped for a Cummins 12 valve B series 5.9 liters diesel, but this one is very tricky because it is front wheel drive.
Wow. Great job. What a delight to see one of these goodies again. As an « experienced » interior designer on the West Coast of U.S., I had a client many years ago that purchased one of these goodies, turned it over to me with the request to, « redo » the entire interior of the coach. We stripped the entire interior and completely redecorated same. All new appliances, upholstery, plumbing, electronic and sound systems, window treatments, etc. etc. Wish I still had photos to share. Your tour was a great nostalgic treat. Once again: great job and thank you!
Stunning... What amazes me is the quality in its basic aesthetic is superb! I mean to have something like this built now would cost you a few million easy and even then you still wouldnt get this level craftsmanship that you got 30/40+ years ago!
As a kid My family owned a motor home with a bunk bed, when we stoped by some rv camps we would day dream about these huge coaches and trailers until a beautiful airstream parked beside us. Never gave up the dream of having one
If you had pulled up in this thing when it was “in it’s time” people would have thought you were some celebrity. Beautiful quality and nice to see it so well cared for!
Nick, all that ornate work inside the side door is actually a screen door that separates so you can leave the hard shell open and get some ventilation. Pretty sure.
Oh how I do very much remember Air Stream motor homes and trailers. As the glint of the sun blinded me and everyone else from behind its gleaming exterior. That aside they were a work of art of a bygone era from which certain colours should never ever be reconstituted again, ever. And yet it’s strangely wonderful to see an old classic once again. Please keep it in the Uk. Thank you.
What a beauty! I love that retro look. Here in Odessa they have this US 50's Diner restaurant. This reminds me of it. It really does have the feel of a boat as well. You got me confused when you said toilet instead of dayheads, lol!
Very great find! I used to seeing these all rusted out and broken down over here in the USA. Nice to see one that was loved and taken care of. Great tour too! Cheers! To bad it doesn’t float. 😉
Be still my heart! I love the vintage feel! Nothing I want more than an airstream straight out of the 80’s, except maybe a 1984 burnt orange el Camino!
I would sell my home and soul ( to the devil ) to have this beautiful creation for one summer. Touring around England/ Eire /Scotland with my loved ones. My idea of heaven. It is top- knotch. Love the tour of this immaculate ' bit of kit '. it is divine
Thanks Nick for driving the 6 hours for us. This would be a blast to do a tour with but I imagine you’d never get any peace with all the eyeballs gawking at it. Like mine..
Your the only Honestly one i watch for Yachting i love you reached out to other things just don't stretch yourself thin tho. The love & passion that you show for a product is breathless your a great salesman on vehicles i'll give you that haha. Great work keep it up !
For a moment it was like we were seeing an episode of AQUAHOLIC and the inside of a Water Yacht 🛥 instead of a Land Yacht 🚐 when we got the wave in the mirror! 👋 lol! Modern RV's have got better amenities but I'd love to do at least one trip in a classic like this! Nice to see the originality of the interior still intact, although admittedly I would probably later on gut it and make it original on the outside but completely modern inside with a rear lounge and Murphy bed. Good thing you did the RV after already going through the cars or else you may have looked out the window and yelled "Ohh, forget the RV, there's a Ford Capri"! lol! (There are some really nice ones there!) Another great Vlog 👍 👏
Awesome I live in my 3rd Airstream in LA,Ca they are Amazing! Thanks for showing this Classic! Wow ive only seen maybe 2 in person in 51 years.. Love your channels Mate ♥️👍🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I had a chance to drive a 40 something foot RV in the USA a couple of years ago. Over there, if you can handle a transit van you'll be fine in one. I wouldn't fancy winding it down our roads though.
Those electric steps get worn out and don’t work well after a while, or they get hit by road debris, or they don’t retract and you take off down the road and hit them on something, and they they have to be replaced. If you are lucky they are a standardized bolt on part from one of the many RV parts manufacturers and can be somewhat easily replaced.
The bottom step, the chipped bathroom door and the way the adjacent wall shakes when he opens/closes the door. I’m sure this RV looked great in the 1990’s but seems like an awful lot of space for two people, modern RV’s are designed with every available space utilised to the max.
Ha ha don’t know why or how I missed that one, but geez I’m glad it popped up on my feed 😎👍🏻 what a great video Nick always wondered what they looked like from the inside, because the outside is really special , I always think of the NASA astronauts 👩🚀 jumping in one of them to go to the launch pad 😂😂👍🏻😎 kind regards Jeff 🍺
Great walkthrough Nick and a lovely bit of history the outside still looks stunning really beautiful. The inside is not to my taste but in very good condition.
Now this for me is worth the money. So adorable for this beautiful build and compared to the previous "RV" price point £650,000 (on this channel may I add) well this airstream is worth paying the price for. I would buy this and some of the others (4/6 berths with price points under £100,000) over the more expensive types anyday. I mean is it me or not but I think you get more for your money on the "cheaper" models and I know they exactly cheap but the lower price models to me personally are worth it as they come across as a home from home as more expensive models you seem to be paying for the Tec stuff. That's my opinion anyway wonder who else thinks like me?? Lisa UK
I knew a guy in Runcorn who used to import US RV’s into the UK, they were really impressive but came with the gasoline engine which cost a fortune in fuel, he spent over £200 on petrol going to York and back to do a show! He would retrofit them with Perkins Diesel engines and sell them on
Even tho the interior looks extremely dated, it feels so cozy and homely. I mean, nostalgia is a strong thing and it’s everywhere now, maybe it’s time for nostalgic homes and interiors? The 1989 collection from IKEA, anyone?
50 shades of beige and brown. This must be made in USA. What a sharp contrast between the magnificent exterior and the disappointing 90's interior. Bring in the Italian designers please. This motorhome deserves a second life.
Great tour Nick. Not my kind of thing though. When you’re used to seeing the modern day equivalent on the yachts and motor homes, this really does look dated and not that great. In its day wonderful. But not my idea of fun. Usual quality of tour we’ve all come to expect Nick.
Not a motorhome person lol but this one pretty cool for a weekend once in a while away if u live in vancouver id fancy that...😁 and i love the ashtrayzzz😆
Absolutely fantastic, 💯brilliant, I real motohome, I can just imagine Clint Eastwood stepping down from this for a day filming 🎥 cool ,thanks for this brilliant 👏.
Something like that would had been awesome living in during college: having it parked nearby the school, with full access to electricity, water and a sewage connection. /ballin Edit: i wish they dithed the hanging locket oposite the toilet and instead built a much bigger shower, so you could sit in there.. and also a sliding door.

Saw this on Harry's garage and was hoping good old motoholic would come through. Can't wait to get home and watch it later thanks for the upload
Hope you enjoy it!
Living in the US, I just never see these anymore. Thank you
This is my ultimate dream RV. THANK YOU so.much for showing this unique and timeless motorhome
You're very welcome, thanks for watching!
Oh I’m so glad I’m not the only one lol
Motaholic and Aquaholic are the two best transport channels on UA-cam 👍🏻❤️
You're very kind
Add in Harry's garage and that's all we need
Hi Nick. This reminds me of STRIPES with bill murray. A tour bus for Griswalds European Vacation. So glad you did the tour. Thanks
My pleasure!
In "Stripes" it was a Gmc Motorhome.
Great to see you up here in Northamptonshire to see such a unique vehicle on British roads. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for explaining and demonstrating the purpose of a door and how it works.
It's my pleasure, I hope it proves helpful. 🙂
No one does walkthroughs like you, nick. Always a pleasure to watch.
You're very kind :)
Wow.. Just awesome Nick Sir.... You are looking truly great...

Nick you are the best tour guide
You're very kind 🙂
You always find the true gems 💎 out there nick.
That really is the Sunseeker of the RV world! What a great vehicle and tour Nick
Great find. You only really see Streamliners in 80s-90s movie's 👍🏾
Such a beautiful piece of history with added current bits too. I prefer this to some of the modern motorhomes.
Looking down the length really puts a ship's size into better perspective.A 50' ship looks like this. What a well kept 'Land yacht'.
Great video Nick I enjoyed that one. You cover all of my favorite things boats , cars and Rv’s. Well done.
That's the biggest Airstream I've ever seen. Incredible !

Nice one, I used to see about four of these every year congregating in Plymouth before heading out on their hols. 👍
really cool RV, I love those massive windows
When you first look at it and you say it is 35ft long it makes you realise how big a 70ft motor yacht is!
Very nice walkthrough! I have a 31' version, they're fantastic, but a land yacht indeed keeping up with the maintenance! :)
Awesome I live in my 3rd Airstream in LA,Ca they are Amazing! Thanks for showing this Classic! Wow ive only seen maybe 2 in person in 51 years.. Love your channels Mate ♥️👍🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That's very cool!
Those Airstream motorhomes are very rare. Because of the aluminum body, they have a super long life, longer if properly taken care of.
Great video Nick I really enjoyed that one. You cover all of my favorite things cars, boats and Rv’s Well done.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
@@MOTAHOLIC still waiting on a submarine video on that other channel lol.
Well worth the drive, I can see this parked up on the dock next to Smuggler's Blues
🤔
It seems a lot longer than Smuggler’s Blues. Could be that things floating in water don’t seem as large as things sitting on land.
@@jeromep It is a lot longer than Smuggler's Blues 2 - it's 35ft, SB2 is 26ft.

Anyone else's OCD get triggered by that bottom step? Just me?
I'd watch an hour video of anything by this guy.
If I owned it, it would drive me nuts, to be honest. LOL

That was fun...had no idea that Airstream made more than top-of-the-line camping trailers. Thanks!
You are correct, the engine is under the big hump between the front seats. Here in the USA we call that a “dog house.”
Cool, thanks!
And whatever you do don’t stand on the doghouse or put your weight on it, they are usually made of fiberglass and aren’t all that strong.
Right. Just a cover for heat and noise, and removable so you can access the top of the engine for service.

This video just knocked me back 25 years 😂
so did your hair- cut....my friend....
cos I am balding now ( and your not ). love your comment
You’ve got great taste for selecting this. It’s a true classic. I’d trade my airstream Mercedes sprinter conversion for this anytime..
That was amazing. Wouldn’t want to drive that behemoth though 😆
never knew they made a motorhome. i have only seen their 5th wheels. this is super cool.
I just liked this video during the ads waiting for the skip button ....... but it’s Nick of course its going to be a good video!!
Hope you enjoyed it!
The engine space/cover is referred to as the “dog house” here in the States.
Great walkthrough Nick and a lovely bit of history the outside still looks stunning really beautiful. The inside is not to my taste but in very good condition.

Love to see you and Harry’s Garage do a road trip in this 😁
What a nice airstream. The presentation was very good.

Interior like it was made in 1960's....

3:17 Indeed, that is an Xbox 360. From 2005 or thereabouts, so "modernized" is a relative term, of course.
Just looked it up, its lower estimate is the same price as a new VW Califoria which seems absolutely crazy to me!
That black plate with the cross was for the leveling jacks.
Oh this is nice .. love to go on a road trip in USA in this
Cool looking RV. A mansion on wheels.
Love the motorhome but was distracted by the e30 M3's parked next to it.
Check out my other video for more on these
I know Airstream from the US, the campgrounds are full of them BUT only the trailers. I had no idea that the made RVs.

Better than the modern rvs , I love the design of the vehicle
You should buy it and give to to your RV buddies to modernize.
If I owned this I'd want to keep it as original as possible I think
A classic US landyacht, just like the modern Class A RV
It is a Class A RV, just built the way Airstream would build a Class A.
@@jeromep And a very stylish one indeed. Kind of shame how "ordinary" their Class As became after they switched to laminate.

Back to the Future
What if a airstream 345 motorhome would look like as a Time Machine?
Earlier today I came across on American entry of a Airstream motorhome exactly the same as this except built in 1989. It had just been taken in part exchange. The only differences I could see was the upholstery and at the front there was an extra pair of Captains chairs where an extra two passengers could sit up front and could be swivelled around into the cabin. It still had its old CRT TV and VHS recorder and had many other in period extras that are not duplicated in this 1992 model.. Otherwise everything else was the same My personal feelings on airstream's is they always look fantastic on the outside but mundane inside. I can only see a die hard fan wanting to buy a 30 yr old motorhome for £75k. which is so impracticable for British Roads. Airstreams caravans & motorhomes always command ridiculously high prices and are a good investment but personally give me something more modern, shorter in length with push out and more practicable for British Roads..
I can smell this motor home through the screen 😆
It is like stepping back in time to a simpler time
You‘r very sympathetic... 👍🏻🇩🇪
