Yep. The shanks on the nails are longer than the sole is thick. When the nail is driven through, the point hits the steel last and curls over clenching the hobnail in place. Doesn't matter if the sole is rubber or leather. A word of caution though, only put hobnails and heel plates on boots that will be worn outside. You'll tear the piss out of a wood or laminate floor, and it like skating on ice on a concrete or tile floor

At The Front currently produces the best quality reproductions I've seen. They aren't cheap though, however they are well worth the price.
