I have a sciatic (SIJoint) disfunction. I also have been doing yoga for a while and have been teaching as well. However, there is so much to know about the body in this case. If you have sharp pain and especially if you have a history, see a specialist first. I have had to relearn what I can and cannot do during pregnancy. I haven't had this pain in my SI joint, even tho I have an old pattern. But with my exercises I was healing it before. Nonetheless, there is still part left and even if a woman had nothing before it or very coming to have the pain during pregnancy. A lot of those stretches in this video are great in general, but not in the case of SI joint issues during pregnancy. During this time it is very important to be stable with your pelvis, which means to avoid single leg activities, such as exercises and stretches. For my case I know learned during this time I have to refrain from this stretches ect. As they will rather aggravate and weaken the SI joint and the pelvis. So please inform yourself clearly before using a video on UA-cam. It is a great option but you and your body are unique. Those just don't work for everyone the same way.
At the beginning of my 2nd trimester, the pain started to crawl in and I had one bad week, then I started with this stretching exercises. After doing it once the pain was almost gone! Fantastic video - quick and easy to do (even at 36 weeks pregnant!) and really helps to relieve the pain. I’ve been doing it a lot more frequently than once a week as it’s been helping so much.

7 months pregnant right now, i haven’t been able to walk freely ( without. crutches for a week and few days ) i’m reading these comments and it’s giving me some type of confidence. i will start these exercises today. and will be back to update i hope hope hope i come back into better relief.
@@amnaarif7601hey i’m 8 months and a week today they definitely do work i am also taking physical for my hips. which improved my walking tremendously. i could walk with out the crutches most times but i do have rough ligaments pain now which woke me up out my sleep but it does work. try using a lacrosse ball on your butt muscles it works aswell i purchased mine from amazon.
I am 26 weeks pregnant and I was doing a different workout and I must have tweaked something and I was having sciatica like pain for 3 days it was very bad couldn't workout and it didn't feel like it was going away. Today I did a warm up and then this video and the pain is completly gone!!!! Thank you so much!!!!

UPDATE!!! I’ve been doing these everyday since my first comment. After 3 days of doing it once a day, I was already feeling a slight relief on my back and my hips! Yes, it was extremely painful to do the first few times, but I promise it was worth it! I can now walk, go up and down stairs, stand on uneven floors, lift things, etc! Also did I mention that I am 9 months pregnant? Lol Highly recommend and be patient with your body. Not going to lie, I was skeptical about doing stretches, but man… I’m changed person!

I couldn't do one of the stretching (the one you sit back and have one of your leg crossed) as my back hurts so I skipped that but the others were very good. My back relived straight away. Xx
I am almost nine months pregnant but I have been experiencing this for so long I have asked my doctor about it multiple times and she would just say it's normal because you're pregnant. But I can't sleep anymore and standing up to do the dishes have become close to torture 😖 thank you for this video I did not know it had a name and what to do with the pain. Hello can you help me please ? Im 5 weeks pregnant(2nd child) .. My right leg feels a bit weird. I can not say its fully numbness but if I listen to it carefully its more heavier than my left leg. Sometimes my pubic on right side also itches.. whats it ? My pregnant friends say its common but I need to hear more experiences
If you are cleared to exercise by your healthcare provider, you can do these in your fourth month and also until the very end of your pregnancy. All the best to you!
I'm not sure if I'm doing the last stretch right, where should I be feeling the stretch? I feel it in my back but maybe it's because I have a bad posture.
Stretching can make the birthing process more bearable so it's encouraged to do stretches :) if you aren't sure you can always look up all trimester stretches and do those but these are safe. Just trust your body and do what feels comfortable :) Congrats!
oh boy, this made my pain worse, I couldn't do many of these, I think maybe my sciatic pain could be complicated somehow like somethings out of alignment preventing me from even moving into these positions. oooof!

I highly suggest you to see a physical therapist. If you are not able to move into these position something could be out of alignment.
You know your moving to fast for pregnant people
