Hi Taylor. The old colonial houses featured in this video are called 'Black and White' houses. The design, sometimes referred to as Tudorbethan Style, combines tropical and art deco elements while standing off the ground to enable the flow of cooling breezes and inhibit termites. They are almost always on a hill to avoid bad air (mal-aria). A bit of an architectural joke when they were built. Today, they are some of the most desirable and expensive houses in the world. Pop down to Singapore and you will see what I mean.
I remember from years ago, that pseudo French style house was featured on the cover of 'Anjung Seri', a famous locally published interior design magazine in Malaysia back then (it cease publication in 2015). My mum was an avid reader of that magazine. I remember being awestruck by it back then cause it reminds me of Disney castle, with it's huge size, conical roof, tower like structure, half-moon shaped windows, the lake front. If I remember correctly, it was a private property, used as an orphanage/shelter home. Don't know what is the status of the building nowadays.
Andrew, you should go to Fraser's Hill in Raub, Pahang. Only 2 hours from Kuala Lumpur. There's so many Colonial Bungalows in Fraser's Hill and the place is beautifull too. Worth a visit !
Hi Taylor, if you are looking for ideas on future postings I think Malaysia’s islands would be most popular , I have been to Penang, Langkawi and Borneo but am sure there are more , keep up the great work❤

Andrew, just where you are residing now you can go to further up the road turn left there is TAMAN TAR. A golf course in front. Explore further n there is UKA Y HEIGHTS. During the 90 s many expats stayed at Ukay Heights because of the American School.Explore Ukay Heights ( Chong Khoon Lin 6 areas) I live in this areas before. Two kilometres up the highway, up the hill are many, many houses you can explore. You can easily go to town within 10 to 15 minutes (if no jam). Why live in a Condominium where you can get a bungalow with bigger space.
MR Taylor, thank you again for this nice video. The houses are very interesting, I enjoyed all the houses and your commentary is both complimenting and a good margin of humor as well. You have an eye for the art and appreciation of the architecture. The Casa Blanca is probably the Embassy of Spain. That is the Spanish flag out front. Look forward to your next video.
