I Have an ECM Synchronika. Good machine for sure, but not perfect. Mine came with a problem: lever getting down completely when pouring espresso, stopping extraction after few seconds half of the time. The machine was brand new. Had to send it back two times to the shop. I wrote to ECM and they got back with a very ridiculous answer saying they valued my feedback and were sharing this info with their R&D department… and when I told them I was not impressed with such a response to a client who was having a problem with their product, they did not even dare to respond… this issue with the lever came back after few months. I had to find a solution by myself…
I just received my AMG edition Synchronicka and it is absolutely beautiful. One nitpick with the video however is, it doesn’t come with a bottomless portafilter and my shower screen is not an E&B but rather an IMS. The included shower screen looks of amazing quality and is easy enough to upgrade. Not getting the bottomless portafilter was a little disappointing. Will be looking for one to match the carbon fiber.

Thanks for this comment. I’ve been trying to decide on a killer home espresso machine and had almost decided on this because of the “included matched bottomless portafilter.” But, the exclusion of this portafilter is contrary to what is stated in the video, and does make me wonder what other parts of the video might be inaccurate, and what may be a surprise after I take out a chunk of my retirement nest egg for this splurge. I’m also looking for feedback from people after they have used and lived this machine for a few months. Will be continuing my research… and thanks again!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an update to the Profitec 300 that includes pre-infusion. I like the cleaner look of a non e61. I'm liking the new models that Profitec and ECM are coming out with that include more temperature stabilty tech!

Especially like the dual PID probes in the Mechanika Max and Fast Heat feature with flush advisor in a variety of ECM and Profitec dual and single (SBDU) boiler machines. Hello. Why you didnt use brands like laspaziale s2? or breville, cimbali, la marzocco linea mini or micra, simoneli and other brands? For example, is synrinzica the best dual boiler and is there another model that is not as good as this one?
Hi mr_k, We carefully select products we feature. For the $$ I do consider the Synchronika the best overall machine in it's class. That does not mean it's the right choice for everyone

@@mr_knight4701 The simple solution to have the Synchronika ready on your schedule is to use a properly rated appliance outlet timer. Use one with WiFi and you can turn machine on/off remotely. The Mechanika Max has built in programmable on/off times. Unfortunately, all machines at this prosumer level require ~20 minutes for full heat up. Marc

I think the LM Linea Micra does the same as the Crem One: hx inside the steam boiler to preheat water for the small brew boiler. So the Crem One is not the only machine doing this. As far as I know the Elektra Verve also does that, but I might be wrong about that.

Synchronika has higher available steaming pressure. The Duo does have time of day on/off settings and if you have 20amp circuit you can set the machine to heat both boilers simultaneously. Marc

Hey t, It comes down to personal preference. Internally, if the valve is sprung the mechanical operation is very similar so no real difference in reliability. some users prefer less user movement required to operate lever valves. Marc

As much as I love the build quality and the look of the ECM Synchronika, I guess my choice would / WILL be the Profitec 600, since it's a lot cheaper and - as far as I can judge - has everything me and my wife need. Thank you!
@@toddpower4674 yeah that might be an issue why I will maybe think of getting the 700. For the next 5 years at least we won't plumb it in anyways because of our kitchen situation. But when we hopefully own a building one day I would like to plumb it in for sure. Maybe I shouldn't save money at this point then. Thank you! I still don't really see a reason why I should get the Synchronika over the Profitec 700. Any thoughts about this someone? :)
@t0bistr I've never tried the profited 700 but same performance as synchronika. I really like my synchronika and wouldn't trade it for anything. I got a bwt water system with the bestmax pro filter and a v titan grinder made single dose. 4 yrs and no trouble yet only with steamboiler vacume valve, a 5 min fix and did it myself. I got the water pressure set to 2.5 bars and it's perfect for line pressure preinfusion. I think I can match any technique out there and make awesome coffee.

What kind of temperature stability have you observed on the Crem One? I haven't gotten to open mine up but I've read a couple reviews of people who complained about temperature instability due to HX? I know you often comment on their stability within a certain range based on your testing in reviews, and i was curious if you had these results for the Crem One. Thanks!
Hi LLTD, To be clear, the Crem One Profiler is a dual boiler machine with the brew boiler fed by a heat-exchange section within the steam boiler. That setup results in excellent temperature stability as new water entering the brew boiler is preheated. While all dual boiler machines have excellent temperature stability in normal use, the Crem One Profiler is one of the best E61 machines we've tested. Marc

I wonder if they were having other issues like a defective PID or something. I'm really excited to use my new machine and see this temp stability for myself!

Hey s, the regular and AMG Synchronika are identical internally so no performance difference except for the upgrade precision filter basket and shower screen in the AMG version. Marc
Because it’s a good entry dual boiler but Bianca is pretty much superior in every way. Without a doubt going for an entry priced dual boiler it’s a good machine. I think MaraX and Elizabeth comes pretty close in price.
It’s just a real pity the ECM Synchronika doesn’t come in the brushed stainless steel finish without all the AMG branding and bits. Would just love this machine in a non mirrored finish
It does come with a regular chrome version. Contact your local dealer. I have one since 2017 , been using it everyday for 6 years, ECM Synchronika no issues, very reliable.
@@Fenom60 I went for the ECM Mechanika Slim VI Heritage which has a brushed satin finish and black side panels. There wasn’t any option for non mirrored finished steel unfortunately. I’m happy with mine though as I don’t use the milk frother much

@@soumynonareverse7807 Most of the machines in the video are rotary pump and plumbable. Silvia Pro X is not and uses 2 vibration pumps. I guess it depends on what is important to you and what makes a machine "better". The finishing quality is nicer on the most of these machines while I consider the Pro X a bit more utilitarian. If it's a low price that's important then the Pro X has one compared to most dual boilers.
@@soumynonareverse7807 The Pro X gets a lot of love from devoted Silvia fans. There was a time when the original Miss Silvia was one of a few options for higher level home espresso. In an interesting side note, Whole Latte Love was responsible for making the original Silvia available to general public. About 20 years ago the Silvia was a gift to Rancilio vendors and not for sale. We saw it at a Dallis Bros. Roasters in NYC and told Rancilio there was a market for the machine and started selling. My thoughts... Given the choice between the 2 machines I'd take the Pro 300. I think the build and finish quality is a bit nicer on the 300. Internally, the 300 is a simpler design with a single pump vs. 2 pumps in the Pro X. It's the only machine I'm aware of with 2 vibe pumps under the hood. For water level in the reservoir the Pro X has a unique tube that uses air pressure generated by water level for sensing. That's not necessarily a bad thing but very unique and perhaps a bit more complex than the magnetic float in the Pro 300 or conductivity sensing used in other machines. My #1 pet peeve with all Silvia's including the Pro X is the drip tray. It's small and you kind of have to lift it out of the machine for emptying and due to its size you'll be doing that a lot. I do like the high and visible placement of the display and controls on the Pro X. They're down low on the Pro 300. Plus the Pro X has some extra functions like automated boiler draining and time programmable pre-infusion. Hope that helps! Marc

LaMarzocco Linea Micra is certainly the top machine on this list. Had an E61 for over 16 years. Great to fix absolutely terrible ability to repeat my coffee’s. My second cup 40 minutes later would taste different without changing anything all because the temperature in the group head is different than the temp in the brew boiler which is different than what actually enters the puck. It may seem absurd but that is exactly why LaMarzocco is worth the price without all the features. I can make a repeatable Light roast better on my new LaMarzocco than I can with all the flow profiling etc etc. TBH I absolutely would have gone with a Dalla Corte which has addressed this issue if not for the increase in big jump in price from the LaMarzocco. I think in this day and age it’s time accept built in group heads.
Been on the fence to get a nicer/beefier espresso machine. Loved my Gaggia Pro for these 6-7 years, but ready a for a duel-boiler + pre-infusion. Really dig the Lelit Bianca v3 and the ECM Sync. Wow.

Hi s, We have featured the R Cinquantotto in past videos like this one: ua-cam.com/video/Xjjzw7kMCU0/v-deo.html It's a very good machine. Here in US, the 2 machines are about the same price. With that in mind the Synchronika has larger boilers and higher max steam boiler pressure. It's also less complex internally for higher expected reliability and easier servicing. The finishing details and trimming of the Synchronika are a little nicer. I especially like its lever operated valves and angled portafilters. The Synchronika can do line pressure pre-infusion when plumbed to water line. The Cinquantotto cannot. Marc

Hey MM, Price vs. performance is a factor used in consideration. Full disclosure, we do not carry LM. It's hard to justify at near double or more the price of these machines.
It's always Profitec, Profitec and once more Profitec. And the Profitec Go is so overhyped all over UA-cam. For me the ECM Classika is a nice choice. Compact in size, reasonable price, E61 grouphead, stainless steal boiler, PID, the vibration pump is rather quiet, no hoses in the water reeservoir, high end finish and making a delicious cup of espresso.

What are the pros and cons over lever and knob values please.
Hey t, It comes down to personal preference. Internally, if the valve is sprung the mechanical operation is very similar so no real difference in reliability. some users prefer less user movement required to operate lever valves.

As much as I love the build quality and the look of the ECM Synchronika, I guess my choice would / WILL be the Profitec 600, since it's a lot cheaper and - as far as I can judge - has everything me and my wife need.

@@toddpower4674 yeah that might be an issue why I will maybe think of getting the 700. For the next 5 years at least we won't plumb it in anyways because of our kitchen situation. But when we hopefully own a building one day I would like to plumb it in for sure. Maybe I shouldn't save money at this point then. Thank you! I still don't really see a reason why I should get the Synchronika over the Profitec 700. Any thoughts about this someone? :)
@t0bistr I've never tried the profited 700 but same performance as synchronika.
I really like my synchronika and wouldn't trade it for anything.
I got a bwt water system with the bestmax pro filter and a v titan grinder made single dose.
4 yrs and no trouble yet only with steamboiler vacume valve, a 5 min fix and did it myself.
I got the water pressure set to 2.5 bars and it's perfect for line pressure preinfusion.
I think I can match any technique out there and make awesome coffee.

Hey George, Rocket did not make the list this year. The R Cinquantotto (R58) has been in our best dual boilers in past years. Rocket is big in the cycling community!

What kind of temperature stability have you observed on the Crem One? I haven't gotten to open mine up but I've read a couple reviews of people who complained about temperature instability due to HX?
I know you often comment on their stability within a certain range based on your testing in reviews, and i was curious if you had these results for the Crem One.

Hi LLTD, To be clear, the Crem One Profiler is a dual boiler machine with the brew boiler fed by a heat-exchange section within the steam boiler. That setup results in excellent temperature stability as new water entering the brew boiler is preheated. While all dual boiler machines have excellent temperature stability in normal use, the Crem One Profiler is one of the best E61 machines we've tested.

@@Wholelattelovepage Glad to hear that! I had heard it was good in this area and then saw one or two users saying they had real issues and ended up returning the machines. I wonder if they were having other issues like a defective PID or something.

I remember hearing the crem units were initially going to be built in China but then in Spain later on, looking at your video they’re still made in China, is your unit an old one or are they still made in China?

Hey s, the regular and AMG Synchronika are identical internally so no performance difference except for the upgrade precision filter basket and shower screen in the AMG version.

how come Lelit Elizabeth was not selected?
Because it’s a good entry dual boiler but Bianca is pretty much superior in every way. Without a doubt going for an entry priced dual boiler it’s a good machine. I think MaraX and Elizabeth comes pretty close in price.
It’s just a real pity the ECM Synchronika doesn’t come in the brushed stainless steel finish without all the AMG branding and bits. Would just love this machine in a non mirrored finish
It does come with a regular chrome version. Contact your local dealer. I have one since 2017 , been using it everyday for 6 years, ECM Synchronika no issues, very reliable.
@@Fenom60 I went for the ECM Mechanika Slim VI Heritage which has a brushed satin finish and black side panels. There wasn’t any option for non mirrored finished steel unfortunately. I’m happy with mine though as I don’t use the milk frother much

@@soumynonareverse7807 Most of the machines in the video are rotary pump and plumbable. Silvia Pro X is not and uses 2 vibration pumps. I guess it depends on what is important to you and what makes a machine "better". The finishing quality is nicer on the most of these machines while I consider the Pro X a bit more utilitarian. If it's a low price that's important then the Pro X has one compared to most dual boilers.

@@soumynonareverse7807 The Pro X gets a lot of love from devoted Silvia fans. There was a time when the original Miss Silvia was one of a few options for higher level home espresso. In an interesting side note, Whole Latte Love was responsible for making the original Silvia available to general public. About 20 years ago the Silvia was a gift to Rancilio vendors and not for sale. We saw it at a Dallis Bros. Roasters in NYC and told Rancilio there was a market for the machine and started selling.
My thoughts... Given the choice between the 2 machines I'd take the Pro 300. I think the build and finish quality is a bit nicer on the 300. Internally, the 300 is a simpler design with a single pump vs. 2 pumps in the Pro X. It's the only machine I'm aware of with 2 vibe pumps under the hood. For water level in the reservoir the Pro X has a unique tube that uses air pressure generated by water level for sensing. That's not necessarily a bad thing but very unique and perhaps a bit more complex than the magnetic float in the Pro 300 or conductivity sensing used in other machines. My #1 pet peeve with all Silvia's including the Pro X is the drip tray. It's small and you kind of have to lift it out of the machine for emptying and due to its size you'll be doing that a lot. I do like the high and visible placement of the display and controls on the Pro X. They're down low on the Pro 300. Plus the Pro X has some extra functions like automated boiler draining and time programmable pre-infusion. Hope that helps!

LaMarzocco Linea Micra is certainly the top machine on this list. Had an E61 for over 16 years. Great to fix absolutely terrible ability to repeat my coffee’s. My second cup 40 minutes later would taste different without changing anything all because the temperature in the group head is different than the temp in the brew boiler which is different than what actually enters the puck. It may seem absurd but that is exactly why LaMarzocco is worth the price without all the features. I can make a repeatable Light roast better on my new LaMarzocco than I can with all the flow profiling etc etc. TBH I absolutely would have gone with a Dalla Corte which has addressed this issue if not for the increase in big jump in price from the LaMarzocco. I think in this day and age it’s time accept built in group heads.

Been on the fence to get a nicer/beefier espresso machine. Loved my Gaggia Pro for these 6-7 years, but ready a for a duel-boiler + pre-infusion. Really dig the Lelit Bianca v3 and the ECM Sync. Wow.

It's a Synchronika under the hood with a bunch of new features like programmable active and passive pre-infusion, time of day on/off and more. Hi s, We have featured the R Cinquantotto in past videos like this one: ua-cam.com/video/Xjjzw7kMCU0/v-deo.html It's a very good machine. Here in US, the 2 machines are about the same price. With that in mind the Synchronika has larger boilers and higher max steam boiler pressure. It's also less complex internally for higher expected reliability and easier servicing. The finishing details and trimming of the Synchronika are a little nicer. I especially like its lever operated valves and angled portafilters. The Synchronika can do line pressure pre-infusion when plumbed to water line. The Cinquantotto cannot.

Hey MM, Price vs. performance is a factor used in consideration. Full disclosure, we do not carry LM. It's hard to justify at near double or more the price of these machines.

And the Profitec Go is so overhyped all over UA-cam.
For me the ECM Classika is a nice choice.
Compact in size, reasonable price, E61 grouphead, stainless steal boiler, PID, the vibration pump is rather quiet, no hoses in the water reeservoir, high end finish and making a delicious cup of espresso.
Hi JJ, Thanks for the comment. The Classika is a very well made and detailed machine with extra finishing touches. Incidentally, Profitec and ECM are sister companies. Much like Toyota/Lexus with ECM being the high line. The machines share a lot of internal components.
