Actually the gibson double neck has been around since 1958 for the first few years they were built like the e s guitars and were semi hollow but did not have f holes then in the early sixties they switched to the sg style body and were discontinued after 1968 as a regular production model but you could still order them from gibson as a custom build . Jimmy page had his custom built in 1971 many people think it's a used 60s model because they were not in production in 71 but pages is a custom build from 1971 and has specs that differ from the standard 60s models due to a high volume of custom orders Gibson. Reintrudiced the double neck as a regular production model in 1977
For those interested in double necks, I recomend you to check out the Harley Benton DC-Custom 612. It beats the Epiphone SG G1275 in every single spec, for half the price. Thanx for your video btw.
I got the Gibson version, got it for 2k with a repaired headstock. How much does yours weigh? I'm thinking of doing the opposite of what you did on the 6-string headstock. I want to replace the Grover Deluxes with Klusons, did the screw holes fit or did you have to redrill?
I bought one with the gold hardware, would have preferred nickel though. I dislike the tuners and the 12 string pickups sound pretty awful imo. The 6 string sounds great but it's impossible for me to play above the 15th fret without some serious left hand Olympics.
Jimmy P! I loved you in Zeppelin man! And thank you for not djenting. The distortion wipes out the effectiveness of the 12 string. 12 string + distortion = NO! The new inspred by Gibson Epiphones are far superior to the older ones, but I'm not really hip on the gold hardware. The Les Paul Custom it's OK, but over kill on the New 12 strings. The nickel and split inlays look great.
Oh yeah cool video just got the same one myself for my birthday new still in the box cool stuff👍🏻

Interesting. What amp do ya use? Nice that ya have the white version and not the more common red.

Thank you dude! I greatly appreciate that!
What 12 string set do you use that is long enough?

You should demo without as much distortion. Maybe with ‘verb/delay.
The older Korean made alnico classic pups sound way better than the modern ones
I believe Gibson introduced the first double neck in the 60s, not the 70s.
Probably the 50s… but the first double-neck they made was a combo mandolin/guitar.
The newer ones are not all mahogany so these older ones have the bonus of all mahogany.
All the Epihpone G 1275 are made of plywood. Some are mahogany and some are alder. I believe the older ones are made of alder.
I really enjoyed the vid one point of constructive criticism though too many cuts try and make less cuts and longer takes :)
Korean made epiphones are usually pretty well made guitars .
$$$$$$$??????????🖤🖤🖤
At the time it was $900. Thanks for checking out the video!
