    Hey Greg. Ford and every other manufacturer tends to put coolant drains in the worst possible locations. I used some stainless pipe fittings and a 1/4" ball valve on my radiator to re-locate the drain past the frame rail. Makes any cooling system maintenance a whole lot easier. Just use a 90 on the end of that valve and plug it when you're running it to prevent any leaks. Hop this helps if you haven't already considered it.

    Take a large pot and fill it with water, bring the water to a boil and pour over the dent. When the dent has been pushed out pour extremely cold water over it to harden the metal and set the shape. Then it is just sanding and re painting.

    For that first gen dent try one of those hand pump air wedges AA uses for lock outs to get your doors unlocked

    I can't believe how that basketball pushed that dent out. Now get a piece of angle iron and put 3 or 4 vice grips holding it to that support and that should keep it from bending.

    they have like a suction cup dent remover that you stick on there squeeze the handle a few times then pull the dent out it works on small dents i have used it

    I hate those plastic fuel cans it's like they come up with a new design for a so called spill proof spout but i think they make them spill gas everywhere I use an old fashioned safety can they're an all metal can and they have the spring loaded cap and handle you just squeeze and the lid opens up and lets you poor gas into what you want and then release the handle and it springs back closed they even have little funnels that slide over the pour neck and that way it funnels gas into the tank of your equipment I've actually spilled way less gas if any with that than those plastic ones

    93 octane in the washer, not the point. Gas with no alcohol in it. The regular gas with alcohol goes bad more quickly as the alcohol evaporates.
    There is a magnetic dent puller, that may not work with too deep a dent, that may be available at shops that will rent service tools.
    There is a set of keyhole studs that can be welded on, in a row. Then a single bar will pull the studs all at once. I refer to a set as shown on an episode of Wheeler Dealers.

    I would try cutting a 2x4 to length, and brace it between the box bracing, and the trucks frame, then get back to it with the basketball, another thing you could try as far as tight fit would be a 10" scooter inner tube. (shout out to no-boost)

    The boys I'm my detail department use the Mr. Clean magic eraser to get the wax and compound off textured parts. And it really seems to work. Give it a try next time. But your 100% right, the best way is to just not get it on them in the first place.

    Use gasoline and that comes out with a hard plastic brush, I do that all the time :) dip the brush in a shallow puddle of gasoline and brush the polish thing out. And 130PSI won't rub the paint job :)

    look up a LTI tools 790 dent roller. it is cheap and goes on the end of a flat blade pry bar. it's perfect for dents like that.

  • @mceperformance8978
    @mceperformance8978 7 років тому

    Greg, Several ways to get that dent out. I would use what they call a body spoon. You should be able to pop the rest of it out with one of them. Start at the shallowest part of your dent and work around the edges toward the deepest portion. You could also take a large washer, braze it on the outside and pull the dent with a slide hammer (gently!).

    • @mceperformance8978
      @mceperformance8978 7 років тому

      If you braze the washer on one side only, you should be able to fold it over and break it off. Hit it with a medium flap wheel to get the braze off the panel.
