    Love these videos, maybe a video about downsizing next? What would be your process? How do you decide what to get rid of?

      That's a pretty good idea, thank you for that one! I'm going to keep that in mind for one of my upcoming videos. I appreciate all of the ideas and comments because it helps me to know what would be beneficial for everybody.

    One advice i like to tell new collectors, only buy what you actually really like. Only the characters you like. If you're buying any and every figure that drops, you'll find yourself getting bored of those figures and you'll be scrambling to try and sell off those figures. It's happened to me and i see it happening all the time in my local toy group. Guys get hyped about an entire line dropping and they grab the entire line. Only to try and sell off 8 of the 10 figures a few months later. If you're just buying what you truly like, you won't have to worry about getting bored of them.

      EXACTLY! You can't get caught up in what everyone else is doing. Like I said, Everybody can't get EVERYTHING. I think your collection should reflect your interests as a collector. Almost like clothes, we can have the same fit... but whose rocking it better, right?

    Wish someone hand help me understand #1 when I first started collecting. It's something that wasn't usually shared in the forums that I belonged to at the time. Funny enough, I just stated collecting Mythic Legions last year and all the groups around that line tell you first thing that you shouldn't try and backtrack. Just stick to the current stuff and look forward to re-issues.
    Also, about ETAs - For me, it's the ones that hit early that are a bigger headache. You plan out expenses thinking it'll drop in June, then Hasbro goes and releases it months earlier and you're scrambling to get that paid now. Ugh.

      I think that's one thing that a lot of people learn the hard way, I know I did. We tend to jump into it and then learn on the fly. The problem is this ain't cheap and most of us have to budget our lives out to get these things.
      Sometimes they do drop early but I have an instant gratification problem lol. All in all they just need to get their stuff together. Every other industry has no problem getting things everywhere equally. With figures some places get shipments of certain characters and other places get nothing. For example, I've never heard of California getting all the red Iphones but in Texas there's no red ones. They get them out equally and on time. It's not that hard.

    Here's my 5 things
    #1. Get the version of the character that you actually want.
    #2. Think about what you want from that figure, the about the poses that you want to get it in.
    #3. making space on the shelf
    #4. When it comes to Mafex, buy the figure ASAP or the price will go up real quick (EXAMPLE is the tiger strike wolverine)
    #5. Hasbro loves ripping people off, the only people that say it's worth $25 is because either their new to collecting, or they've never had an import figure before..

      Those are all great points as well and all factual. This is where the experience comes into play. Hopefully I'll be able to catch some people early enough that it can make a difference for them.

    Collect what you like, try to check fomo at the door and selling figures is hard, but liberating and rewarding at the same time. Just my 2 cents.

    I don't trust the estimated arrival year when I pre-order a figure, let alone the month/day. I've still got stuff on pre-order from BBTS originally slated in the summer of this year. And yup them suckers are piling up, a bunch of figures now have the same release month. Hard lesson to learn.

      Tell me about it, I don't understand how every other industry has no problem getting their products where they need to be. These companies need to get it together.

      @@ClevasMultiverse Exactly. You really lose faith when you walk into the store and see it sitting on the shelf! I found a flocked Gizmo Funko Pop that way and on my way through the parking lot was going to cancel my pre-order only to see Target already canceled it due to 'out of stock'!

You can't make this stuff up. Then they catch an attitude when you feel some type of way. This is like the only hobby that goes through this. Them Jordan's night sell out but they CAME OUT when they were supposed to. Everywhere in America, at the same time. It's not that hard.

    I've been collecting for about 12 years as an adult, I have about 1,500 figures marvel legends, marvel select, GI joe, Mcfarlane, mezco and mafex. As a ongoing collector you said speaks a lot of hard truths for new collectors or older collectors!!!🤔😁👍Although FOMO and buying too much of figures funded both of the first two Haslab projects!🤔🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

    • @ClevasMultiverse
      @ClevasMultiverse  9 місяців тому

      As long as you have the money it's all good. It's when they spread themselves too thin too fast then they start to feel like its a burden and then we start to see those"getting out of collecting" posts on FB lol.
      You have a lot of figures, do you have all of them displayed or put away?

  • @doomsday519

    Felt #5 recently. This is a collecting hobby first and foremost for me and as such I will be mostly spending money but in my hunt for figures at brick & mortar spots, especially thrift stores, when I see something I know has been put there for cheap that will sell well that I don't want for my own collection, I grab immediately for the chance for resale. In the past few months I've found a good amount that I paid next to nothing for that can sell for a decent amount. So outside of collecting for myself it's cool to do that while also selling those things at reasonable prices to share the wealth just a bit.

    • @ClevasMultiverse
      @ClevasMultiverse  9 місяців тому

      That's a great POV as well. That also comes with the experience of knowing which figures will sell for more than you paid for them. I try to do the same when I can but these stores are so vacant... I hate it.
