I agree with you Jeremy!!! I think overall if the track order was different, it would really help the album as a whole. There's just too many ballads on it. I was expecting it to totally rock. I'm glad we have a new Whitecross cd & I absolutely love Dave Roberts. :) The production is very good also.

Great review! I prefer the Rex era of Whitecross and Unveiled is a decent album as well. Didn't care for the last 2 Whitecross albums released in the 90s and the Rex Carroll solo albums Sessions and That Was Then This is Now and the King James album The Fall. I'm selective then it comes to Whitecross and Rex Carroll related music. I have the Whitecross albums from 1987 to 1994 and the King James self titled album and Maximus. I'm in the process of selling Flytrap. With all that said, I don't mind ballads and for me they have to mean something or make a point. Ballads like Remembering You by Joshua, Top of the Mountain by Bloodgood, In the Kingdom by Whitecross and a few others has a place on the albums. When Whitecross were signed to Star Song, you would think the label pressured them to go from 1 or 2 ballads to 3 or 4 on In the Kingdom and High Gear. From your review, it appears that they are doing it where they want to. I can see me liking Blind Man but I may not care for the other 2. Also, you mentioned you wished for more songs like Lion of Judah. It seems to me from previous interviews of the band that they are going for more of a New Wave of British/European Heavy Metal with bands like Rainbow and Michael Schenker. I like that sound. Many of their previous songs on the first 2 albums had that American/LA style Hard Rock and Metal. I like most of the hard rockers but Saints of Hollywood is a head scratcher. Jack Hammer is one of his better solos. The last one I liked was the one on Triumphant Return. As far as digipak, it can be argued they are the spawn of Satan, ha ha! I tolerate digipaks and the ones I have stay in good shape. I mostly listen to CDs at home and play songs on bluetooth in my car. And the booklet being glued to the inside, what is going on with these people? However, I do like the fact that both album covers were included and I prefer the alternate one a bit more and there are cool band picks. I have the album on order from Amazon and I will have it tomorrow unless my wife takes it and keeps it until my birthday! When I do get it I will give it a serious review.

Solution to that .... always buy two ... one for storage, one to use.
    I really do so.

Your opinion seems to mirror mine, mostly. I’ve yet to hear the album in totality, but I’m of the same mind about the issues you raised. Love W’s first two albums. Hoping to add this one. God bless and Metal on!

That production sounds tight. I'll have to download the rockers from here as I hate most ballads. And possibly order that bad-boy T-shirt that would be a better cover.

The too many ballads thing has been an issue on a few Rex albums. High Gear, the first King James, and this new one. It’s frustrating because he’s so good at the crunchy rockers.

You will not loose the lyrics.
    It stays inside.

I like this album. Except for one or two ballads this thing smokes. Rex hasn’t lost a step in his playing or songwriting. That being said, the packaging with the glued lyric book is absolutely ridiculous and leaves me scratching my head. What were they thinking? I can’t believe that Rex or any of the band would sign off for this. Horrible.
As far as your opinion and review of this album, I’ll just say everyone is entitled to their opinion. I respect that.😊
