What a place to be. One place I still have to visit on a wild camp. Due to heart surgery and arthritis, the latter being the most painful, I am limited to hill days of long daylight hours and shorter distances. My days are spent wandering on my own waiting for good light and good vantage points. One of these days I will leave the car at home and use my bus pass and just disappear into the sunset. I just love wilderness.
The man is honestly close becoming as legendary as tam weir . I'm really jealous of the great places you go to Murray. Just found out today that the Mrs and I are expecting a wee boy in December. Can't wait to take him to Arisaig, morar(silver sands) , mallaig and over to Armadale and show him our country. Your videos just bring back my childhood, visiting mallaig, rum, muck, eigg, morar etc. Beautiful.....can you stay over on the silver sands morar or the local hero Beach? The sandbar at the portnadoran campsite is amazing with views to the small Isles.
Congratulations Alan - great news for you all. Hope you manage to take him on adventures in he years ahead. I’ve have some of my best memories on the hills when my kids have joined me :) great stuff 👍 🎉
@@ScotlandsMountains thanks Murray for those gentle words and sentiments. We all look back at our childhood holidays with such fondness and at a time the world was a kinder less stressful place..... Ohhh my Murray, they looked like good and worn boots too it’s a walkers worst nightmare when the blisters set in, I really felt it for you, stuck between a rock and a hard place ! Making it up there knowing it’s going to peel a piece of flesh off your heel, and having to let that happen for a good cause, just shows the kind of courage and fortitude that you have. You took one for the Arches there ! I’m sure it was much appreciated, yet it did not stop me from wincing at every step you took, your a good person Murray! Old Owl 🦉 Alaya.

As always brilliant photos, video, and commentary and never understating the hard and not always fun bits. I have been doing this up and down munros for in excess of 30 years now and at 72 its not getting any easier. Sometimes coming down when it hurts most and i'm knackered I think maybe its time ! Then the next day or the day after I search out one of Murray's pieces and think....... i'm gonna check the forecast pick the right day get the maps and books out and I'm away again! This video storyline on Knoydart creates exactly that sort of impetus. Many thanks Murray for wonderful stories and visuals.
For me, this has been the epitome of why UA-cam was designed. Showcasing what our beautiful country has, it's magnificent resources and most of all the scenery. Essentially a masterpiece in my humble opinion. Great work. A pleasure to watch. Thank you.
What an epic film (yes, film! Feature length and cinematic quality!) What a treat for the eyes! I had to laugh when, more than once, you said something like, “It doesn’t look that steep on camera.” Every time I yelled back, “oh, yes, it does!!!” 😆 Thanks so much for all the work you put into this. Fabulous trip Murray. Nowhere quite like Knoydart. As far as I am concerned, the remoter the better. That steep climb and the narrow ridge with the heavy backpack gave me the fear though! Happy to contribute to the Archies.
Fantastic video Murray and as always brilliantly presented. As a heavy weight wild camper it was nice to see you blowing out of your ass instead of the usual way you seem to glide up mountains. Thanks as always for sharing your adventures.

1:37:26 about 40 years ago I kayaked from the head of Lock Hourn up to the right in the view and camped at the little peninsula in the bottom left. Hasn't changed a bit! I agree Murray, I think that might be the remotest part of the whole of mainland Scotland . Magnificent!
That was incredible Murray, gets me really excited for Knoydart.. I will be doing something similar for Ladhar Bheinn and the other Munros. Some effort putting all that together but well worth it! Stunning place. Cheers, James
Beautiful ,, simply stunning, many thanks for posting ,, I've been away from my native Scotland for almost sixty years now. Scotland will always be " home ", Scenery like no other place on God's green earth.
Heyup Muzza 💥. Our extended family have been entranced by the rough bounds after decades of summer holidays(many thanks to mum and dad). Oooohhh Arisaig... Left a long comment on the Winter version .....Anyway just to say I'm in awe of your amazing videos they are just wonderful. Beautifully filmed and edited lovely to experience heres views and sunsets etc as if I was actually there .Thankyou so much ....
Takes me back to about 20 years ago when i walked from loch Arkaig to Inverie, stopping overnight at Sourlies. Then the Ferry back. It’s a great feeling to be so remote.
It’s a lovely remote feeling area in the wild - cracking wild camping area (and the weather wasn’t too bad either lol) Take care and thanks for watching ATB Murray
Thanks Murray! I watch all your videos, but I get a special tingle of anticipation when the thumbnail shows it’s of feature length duration!! Absolutely superb, and anything less wouldn’t have done it justice. Really well done, that was a tough way to tackle Ladhar Bheinn and loved seeing the detail of the Corbetts. Did this very journey and stayed at that campsite about 3 weeks ago. Knoydart really is a special place and blew our minds. The midges and the ticks were a pain, but well worth putting up with for such stunning scenery. Saw golden eagles, porpoises and other wildlife galore as well.

thank you - it was a special trip. Knoydart is such an amazing area and the weather I enjoyed on this trip was perfect for the camping and mountains - cant wait to go back

feature length Murray watching it on the home cinema ! really feel like ive been on an adventure. Thanks for that!
Murray this was just stunning. As always thanks so much for sharing.
It’s a cracking area and a real feeling of wilderness . Lovely place to kayak into as well - superb

That was incredible Murray, gets me really excited for Knoydart.. I will be doing something similar for Ladhar Bheinn and the other Munros. Some effort putting all that together but well worth it! Stunning place.
Cheers, James
It’s an amazing place James - one to keep for good weather for sure (especially Ladhar Bheinn - one of Scotlands finest mountains 👍
👌Superb.
Am knackered just watching you doing that.
Scenery is absolutely amazing.
Mallaig etc. Now every sunset out there is EPIC as I'm sure you know. Great film and narration. It's sure a special part of the known universe. Thanks again , Muzza..

Settled in last night to watch this as we have been saving it for when we could sit down and watch it from start to finish. Well what can we say, you have outdone yourself Murray! Absolutely amazing film with some out of this world views🥰. The sunset were picture perfect, what an incredible experience it must have been to be in that moment on top of the mountain in such a wild place. The effort you put into making the summit to ensure you kept your word to the Archies charity is a testament to the great person you are, we will certainly be donating 👍. Thank you so for sharing this remote place with us, our favourite video yet!
thanks folks - just getting round to replying to comments - been a busy few months! This was a magical trip and the weather was perfect - the summit camp is one I will remember for a looonngg time for sure :)

Again Fantastic, thank you 🏴
I think words cannot convey the beauty of this place just like to say a big thank you to you and all the best for the future
I watched the bulk of this while training on the bike in the garage. It was a most welcome distraction. Trouble is I've forgotten all I wanted to say about this brilliant video. Why is the only thing that sticks in my mind is what food you were eating....probably says more about me than you! lol
Haha - some pork pies and scotch eggs Julian 🤫😂
Oh my beautiful Scotland. Absolutely epic film Murray, love these multi day videos. Takes me back to where my heart belongs.
Finally got a look today wow it looked amazing the weather and views were amazing .well done Murray .

Wow! What an epic. Awesome videography and filmmaking, Murray. Thanks for uploading. 🏴⛰👍
Takes me back to about 20 years ago when i walked from loch Arkaig to Inverie, stopping overnight at Sourlies. Then the Ferry back. It’s a great feeling to be so remote.
It’s a lovely remote feeling area in the wild - cracking wild camping area (and the weather wasn’t too bad either lol)

Murray, this was wonderful - I could watch hours and hours of your films.
Glad your knee is holding up and your hill fitness is returning: it means we all have more epic videos to look forward to! 👍🥾😁
Thanks Martin - really appreciate the comment as it took ages to edit 😂 hope you enjoyed the wild camping adventure:)

Fantastic vlog. What sensational views at sunset over towards Skye
You have inspired me to visit this area
Not many youtubers I'd watch for nearly 100 minutes Murray, but that was worth every second. You always do a cracking job mate, but that was above and beyond.
The 29% of my DNA that's Scottish is crying out to walk that area! 😆 Hope to see you out there one day!
Thanks Dave - very much appreciated. It was a grand wild camping adventure ina lovely remote feeling area in Scotlands last wilderness :) hope you enjoyed it :)

Brilliant video and well done. I know you're probably sick of being asked but what is the tent ?. At 62 am new to wild camping and want to give it a go before it's too late 😉.
Hi - got a link to my gear list here which may be useful - goes through the tents too 👍

Did this very journey and stayed at that campsite about 3 weeks ago. Knoydart really is a special place and blew our minds. The midges and the ticks were a pain, but well worth putting up with for such stunning scenery. Saw golden eagles, porpoises and other wildlife galore as well.
Knoydart really is special. In terms of ticks - I use permethrin spray on my clothing and gear and have not had one tick since I started using it - highly recommended :)

@@ScotlandsMountains great, thanks for the advice, that's good to know. I'll get some before the next time I venture into anywhere where ticks are likely.
