thanks man! I got the sirui because it was way cheaper for a combo kit. I can clamp the vmount plate to my monopod or light stand and probably get longer battery life or get a 10k mah power bank for smaller setups. either way, I was looking to replace my amaran 60x with something small and travel friendly. It being twice the output is a huge plus. THanks man!
I can agree that this light has a lot of value for its price point and not a terrible choice for a first light You can sometimes even find it on Amazon for cheaper. However, I think you left out some a couple main cons of the light. The first is that in order to run the light at 100% on v mount, you need 26v. This is in the fine print and only a few reviewers have mentioned it. Unless you already own them, it is not an economical choice. That 212 Smallrig or any 14.4v can only get up 50% (66%?) power output. Had I been able run the full 150w on 14.4v (or two 14.4 ) I would've kept the light despite the other cons. The other con is the bowens adapter it comes with. It is extremely "plasticy" in build quality. 150w is enough to supply a larger softbox (24-36). That bowens adapter it comes with is trash and won't hold any kind of weight. I had high hopes for this light since I wanted something compact, powerful, affordable, and with an app. If you require a 26v, its not affordable. If you need to plug in for full output, it's not portable or compact (compared to x100 or cx100). If you can't max the output to 150w, then there is no real advantage over other 100w options that are available. I can see it being useful for doc work where traveling with less gear is essential. However, if I need to plug to expose for an interview, I will opt to bring a light that has more output and isn't much larger.
Very valid! I did miss a couple of things! That’s my mistake and I tried to not advertise this as a full length review as I didn’t have the time to do so BUT… you are correct. Those are some valid and annoying cons that you’ve mentioned. The bowens mount is actually MUCH more sturdy than the zhiyun one and I’ve attached larger modifiers so I’m going to have kickback on that concern. But other than that, it’s still an incredible value! The v mount part is really annoying though
I found this ua-cam.com/video/jHMcVmkY5tw/v-deo.html They seem to have published some evidence on the quality of the adapter on the official media, it looks okay.
What you can do is mount the vmount batts under the c150x. And power it via USB. I value the power more. With v mounts you don't have to keep buying another sets of battery imo
is it true that if u use a type c powerbank, the sirui only goes at 50% ? even with some v mount batteries ..50-60% ? for real? also how long the battery lasts for zhiyun at 100% brightness? thanks
How high is the minimum brightness? The X100 is already very bright at its minimum. If this is any brighter, it might be a deal breaker. To make these lights flicker free and affordable at the same time, these manufacturers try to avoid all PWM dimming and end up cheaping out on badly tuned DC dimming.
Oooo that’s definitely something I should test! For me it’s not a deal breaker but there has been a couple times where I wish it was able to dim lower. Will circle back with my findings!
In what direction do the cooling fans flow? I ask because Im thinking of using this light for macrophotography and I cant have any air or anything else blowing into my specimens. Thanks!
Thanks for the honest and clear short review! New sub from Germany :) 👍
Thanks brother!

Many thanks for this video. I'm on the verge of buying new lights and I put this model on my list.
Glad it was helpful!

I'm considering getting a couple of these or the ulanzi 120vmounts. Going out of country and need mobile podcast lighting...what do you think?

Actual testing found that the illumination of C150X at 1% is only 98lux@1m, very nice for me.
Man… only $200?!
Instant buy for me
Get it bro!

Idk…
Hey Bro, what's your white balance in camera when recording this please?

How is the fan noise compared to the Zhiyun x100?
Do you find the zhiyun x100 loud?
@@AnthonyRodriguezz no, I think it's not that bad. But quieter would always be better. :)
I haven’t hear much at all so that’s a good sign! But then again, I haven’t been paying much attention to it all so… I’ll have to run some tests!
I already have the zhiyun x100. Is it worth to sell x100 over sirui?
I wouldn’t sell it, no
@@AnthonyRodriguezz thank you😍
hola, Which power bank or V battery do you recommend, that is not expensive?
For this light specifically?
