    In this video, I show you how to install Camco RV Gutter Spouts with Extensions. These spouts replace the short factory spouts on your camper. Our original spouts broke from age and a hail storm. These are needed on your camper to properly drain water away from your camper. Whether you have a 5th wheel, travel trailer, motorhome, or hybrid camper, you probably have some type of gutter spout on your RV. This is a pretty simple install overall. Let me know if you have questions and thanks for watching!

    Hi Brian, you seem to leave me scratching my head wondering how you know that all these repairs you highlight are regular repairs and maintenance most RV’ers need to do and know how to do it to keep their campers at their best. I speak for many, thank you!
    And as you said there is no shortage of projects on an RV, but its sooo satisfying to do it ourselves and it feels so good when we got it off our to-do list 😂

      Hey Joe! Thanks for the comment man, I hope you have been well! You're welcome! I hope these type of videos are helpful to people.
      Being in the trades for 16 years I have seen thousands of houses. Through that experience, I have seen what happens when people neglect routine maintenance on their home. Little maintenance items end up becoming large, costly projects down the road if not done. Campers are mini homes and need the same love and attention that a sticks and bricks house need. A lot of people don't realize that when buying an RV. In fact, funny you should mention this because I'm planning on doing a video on this topic in the near future! Thanks for always tuning into my videos and commenting, it is truly appreciated!

    Helpful, thank you! Off the subject question,
    Do you use anything overtop your pop out beds to cut down the heat from the sun?

    • @ColoradoCamperman
      @ColoradoCamperman  4 роки тому +1

      You're welcome! Good question, we did not come up with anything on our hybrid to do that. Our hybrid seemed to have a pretty thick roof layer above the pop-outs and I don't remember it being overwhelming hot. But, we also generally camp at high elevations where the temps reach maybe 80-85 during the day and cool down considerable to 45-50 at night. You could maybe try some reflectix, here it is on Amazon: amzn.to/2M1Rm2x
      You'd probably have to put some velcro around the edges, but that center pole could help support the middle. Then you could fold it up and put it away with the mattress. Thanks for the comment and watching Jessica!

    will longer gutter drains break if you install a heavy duty trailer cover for the winter.

      I don't know for sure. From my experience, it seems like they actually cause the cover to fail quicker in those spots. Thanks for watching.

      If they're old and brittle they could crack or break under the cover. If they're still pliable they should be okay depending on how severe your winter is. Adding to what CC mentioned....I always buy a few lengths of foam pipe insulation and cover EVERY sharp or protruding point on my TT before putting the cover on. If it gets windy the cover will slide across the foam instead of hanging up on things or wearing holes in it. It takes a while but it's peace of mind knowing the cover won't fall to pieces in the middle of winter.

      @@babbs128 That is such a great tip! We have had several covers over the years and the gutters destroy the cover. Thanks for sharing the tip and watching!

    i appreciate how to gutter extension. But, you don't need to tear off that much. Just pull out 2 screws and put new extension in caulk and done
