Funny relatable story. In our neighborhood a week ago Amazon is making a delivery. The van driver would leave his side door open as he ran packages to a door. Our neighbor gets a call from a number she didn’t recognize, but decided to answer. It was the Amazon driver who asked “do you have a cat named “Lucy”. The cat had jumped in the van and crawled up to the driver about a mile down the road. Lucy has a collar with her name and number. Lucy was delivered back home safely by the kind driver.
Now that is a heart warming Christmas story. Thanks for sharing it, and thanks for watching.
@@OurWyomingLifemike my father passed away nov of yhis year and he suggested put a survival heat blankets for emergency, both human & calves.
I loved how you told that story!! Kitty cats have so much to add to lighten our days.
I had a chocolate Labrador Retriever and I had her out with me in the garage. A brown UPS truck drove up and as he got out of his truck my Lab decided she wanted to go for a ride so she planted herself in the truck and would NOT get out!!! He took her around the block, made another delivery and when he pulled back in front of my house, she got out and ran to me wagging her tail! From there on out, I would grab her collar when I saw an UPS truck coming down the street…
My ex wife ran over a wild turkey on the way to visit her mom in a hospital 25 miles up the road . What she didn't know was the turkey was on top of her van when she arrived at the hospital lol😅😅😅😅
Whatever you keep in the Gator, keep a radio and/or cellphone in your coat pocket, even more at night. Don't poke the bear, again! LOL!!!
Your are correct there. Always have both with me at all times.
The B team wanting to stay with the A team is like the freshman wanting to hang out with the seniors.
LOL Thats not a bad analogy Shari.
We live in a small town in East Tenn. Course 30 yrs ago it was a lot smaller, but I had a friend pull up into line at the bank. While she was waiting her turn she heard something in the back seat and turned around and a CHICKEN had flown through her open window and was sitting there looking at her. When we were kids living in Miami there was a box truck following the school bus with a cat on top. We were writing notes to the man saying "you have a cat on top" and he didnt believe us. FINALLY he got out and grabbed the cat and threw it in the cab and turned around for home. WHEW!!
Adorable cows. A verrrry lucky to be alive turkey and “ barley pop”😂
Reminds me of my favorite ranching song: “Who let the cows out - moo, moo, moo, moo, moo!”
I don't like getting in the alley way with them. I LIKE keep a gate between them and me. Always have an escape route
We had a barn cat go to the mill with my dad. It was on the bags of grain. Dad didn’t see him until he got to town. He got to ride in the cab on the way home.
LOL Thats funny.
Arrowquip needs to come up with a section to add to the chute that's like a car wash. The cows go through and get shampooed, rinsed and blow dry. lol
Marty needed a hug lol
LOL She is kinda needy!
Born in New England, a city fella/former flat-bed trucker, driving out west many times through Wyoming, I was glad to be with you at ground level through the weigh-in process. That was so cool! It was great to see the whole process today. Thanks so much! While I was watching you, I recalled John Wayne's movie Mclintok.
Hello, Mike. One thing you could also add to the gator is those one-time-use hand warmers. If the gator breaks down in the middle of your pastures in the middle of Wyoming winters. You have emergency heat to keep your body warm.
A friend of mine was going on a fishing trip at some property he owns about 140 miles from his house. On the way he stopped about ½ way there, and discovered that his barn cat had crawled under the boat cover, and was still there. He had to call his wife to meet him & and take the cat back home. After that he'd always check to see where the cat was BEFORE he left.
I had to call my husband into the room to see the turkey episode! Can you imagine what that turkey was thinking. He tucked in rode it out! Happy New Year!
LOL That was one lucky Turkey for sure. Cant imagine what was going through its mind!
Those cows were feeling mighty frisky today😛 Marty is so sweet, somebody needs to buy her and keep her as a pet. I sure wish I could, but I'm not in a position to do cows or any other farm animals (darn it). Very fun video and hope the turkey doesn't need therapy for PTSD
Mike put some shop towels or a roll of paper towels in the gator. It does look nice all cleaned up
Word of advice secure the fire extinguisher before driving around with it because if it hits at the correct angle it may ricochet around in the compartment.
I thought that turkey was a goner for sure. How did she survive that?!
Another fun edit. Thanks for sharing, Mike. -EZ
Thanks for taking us along for another year on the ranch. Happy new year to all!
Your welcome Deb, and thanks for watching. Happy new year to you and yours.
Had a friend when I was a kid whose family had a corn silo up hil from the hog pen. When it started to get emptied and then turned warm there was silage runoff into the hog pen. They ended up with drunk hogs every one in a while.
LOL Thanks for that Charles! I needed a good chuckle!
When I was a kid around 1971-1972. Dad drove his pickup from home to work (about 59 miles) in the dead on winter and once he parked and got out ..he heard a “meow”. Only to discover that our kitten had climbed up into the engine and rode the entire way!! Apparently he thought it was “take your cat to work day”
Always enjoy OWL videos, never a dull or quiet moment.
Thanks, glad you like them. Happy new year to ya!
A stowaway turkey with the cows. lol. When you were loading the cows back into the trailer to take them back home, I thought I saw wings flapping and thought it was a chicken but it was the turkey.
LOL I didnt even notice until later!
How are you doing? I want to know do you ever sleep. We love your videos. We like to watch you and what you are doing today by day.
Mike...... I think you really need to re think Marty's future. There is way to much love in that cow to cut his life short. He would make a great pet or teaching cow for all your visitors. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way. Anyway that's my opinion. Thanks for the video. 🐮💙 # Save Marty
Marti is a free martin…😁
Thanks for watching.
Turkey took a trip of a lifetime!
Did you have any mistletoe in the B Team's barn? I think Marty wanted to plant a big smacker on you - lol. Excellent - you have the Gator back! Ever think of adding any kind of hand wipes and a small garbage bag? Been kind of dry this winter so I am hoping for some of that white stuff for you. Be Blessed!
LOL No to the Mistletoe! Im hoping for some snow too JanesDough. Thanks for watching.
I joined at the end of August 2022 ,and since then have not missed a single second of it. Thankyou Mike for taking us along ,allowing us to be part of this beautiful journey.
We had a neighbor who had some Amish working for him. Going back to the Amish farm to get some wood the neighbor inadvertently brought back the Amish's dog. Long story short, the dog made it's way to my parents house because my parents had cattle and the dog whom my dad named Yoder was a cattle dog. Yes, the dog's owners were notified but seemed to not mind Yoder had found a new family and home. He was a great dog! But he sure loved trying to go for rides!
Dog wanted to be English.
Turkey in back of truck rode for 5 miles on highway to walmart. She then rode all the way back to our farm. People at walmart took pictures of her just watching the people.
LOL Thanks for sharing that. LOL
I was going to my CDL class and a guy with his mowing equipment drove 30 mins to the class with a rooster on his trailer. On the highway. 🤣😂he got loose in the school. It was the guy’s neighbor’s rooster. I’ll never forget it lol.
That's one lucky turkey!
Yes it was Val.
I am.so jealous of the arrow quip
I like the way you run your cattle. I"ve watch a video that shows the difference between the meat. Between stressed cattle and none stressed cattle.
FYI. Why is Marty, a cow, with the B-Team? Apparently Marty has a crush on You Mike! She´s a keeper. Perhaps a visitor may offer a bid for Marty. Cheers.
As explained in a much earlier video Marty is not fertile. She was "twin" to a boy. OWL doesn't have a huge budget to support unproductive livestock.
She was a twin and the other one was male and that made Marty a freemartin. Literally an infertile calf. Had Marty been a bull, it wouldn't be infertile. I have never seen a fertile one.
@Shuzcan61 Thanks to happygardner and AdaMcEwan answering your question. Thanks for watching.
@@OurWyomingLife I adore ya Guy's immensely and definitely the motto you live by that more ranches should as well. I pray for nothing but wonderful things for your family. As I'm typing this your episode "Cake Feeder Friends" and you saying "what it takes to bribe a cow to like you." lol Mike, I really appreciate you and your family, and how sweet you all are. Ranching is tough work, and you still make people laugh while you do it. Erin's work cannot be easy either. I only imagine her stress with her non-profit, and not to mention everything else. She is an angel to so many and I hope she knows that. You too. 🇺🇸
@@OurWyomingLife okee dokee. mother nature doesn´t take prisoners, lmao
In my local area, the Judges have underground secure parking with guards inside and outside. One day the motion sensors went off in the middle of the morning. This caused an emergency armed response due to no one supposed to be inside. One of the Judges lived on a farm. Turns out two chickens hitched a ride in the back of his truck. The birds were contained and no further fowl play occurred.
At the dairy farm I work at as a kid we took a dairy cow in the back of pickup truck through a drive through before we took her to sale.
Happy New Year Mike & Family. Marty is such a sweet cow & she sure does love you. As always a great video. Looking forward to the 30 in 30. Stay safe into the New Year. ❤
Happy new year to you and yours Linda. Glad ya liked the video.
That turkey reminds me that my dad once hauled a chicken to the feed cooperative. He was taking a load of corn in to be ground and chicken decided to hop in the back of truck unbeknown to my dad. It was a 19 mile ride. They caught the chicken and put it in a box for the ride back to the farm. LOL
It sure seems life would be a lot easier if your feed lot was next to or part of the chute system at the main corral area. It would save trucking them back and forth across the road for weigh ins and save hauling feed across the road every day.
You should have farm crossing signs for both ways on that highway. The state miight buy them and install them.
LOL
Marty was trying to hug you Mike :)
LOL Your right. She is needy always wanting some affection!
Staples for the fence when they are pull out and extra wire
Speaking of having a cat in the backseat lol... Once went with a farm I worked at to get a load of hay... we got back to the farm, and out of the load of hay, plopped a 6 week old kitten in a sudsy bucket of water. Yes the kitten was then and there named Sudsy, or Suds for short, but definitely not what we expected when getting a few dozen bales of hay!
Always enjoy watching your work duties you have to do. Good thing you hadn't loaded to head to Sturgis. That turkey could have been smashed, or totally in shock. Good to have the Gator equipped and ready to go. Thanks Mike for sharing
Thanks for watching Gene.
I'm surprised you don't keep some sort of fence repair kit in gator.
The turkey is probably why the cows, well steer, weren’t moving all the way in…
Marty is a big pet. Marty is getting too big for his britches. Thank you for the update on the Gator. Happy New Year from Calgary, Alberta.
Once got home w what should have been an empty trailer. Went to Hose it out only to find a big ol rattlesnake. He got in after we offloaded the horses. Just left it open till he decided to leave.
OH GEEZ! Now i'd probably jumped a foot or 2 in the air! Thanks for sharing that!
You should have actually kept Marty as the pet cow😊
OWL doesn't have a large enough budget to support unproductive livestock at this time
happygardner is correct. I know where your coming from though.
To help With the daily gain I would focus more on the TDN vs the protein. The TDN is the most important part of the daily ration. Just a recommendation.
I loaned my cattle trailer to a guy that hauled a load of turkeys to the processor a few years back. He brought it back a mess inside and out so it was the last time he used it for hauling turkeys.
I had to Laugh , Man. That cow was wanting a Hug..
My dad once pulled his flatbed trailer from the house to pick up a load of hay which was about 40 miles away. He did not realize his two Austrian Shepherds were on the trailer. He was going to pick the hay up after he got off work. So dad had to drive 40 miles back to the house to drop off the dogs then go back to work. He was NOT a happy man.
You should also put in hand and feet warmers just in case something would happen that you can’t get back to the gator
Not a bad idea Laura. Thanks
Single turkey delivery.....😂😂😂 I love it.
Suggestion for the Gator tools: some kind of shovel. It would stink to get stuck and not have a tool to help get unstuck. During winter, a blanket, just in case of a breakdown.
Some people are so rude and mean, there is no reason why they need to be mean to Aaron. Keep up the great work your doing, I love your videos
I’ve taken 3 of my barn cats to FL from Texas. Opened my trailer tack room and all three popped out. I was shocked they lived it was the middle of August and 110+° it took two days to get there they had no water 🤦♂️ so was in FL for two weeks at a horse show with 3 cats 😂
Happy New year!! Mike and Family. Awesome that you got your Gator back, stocking it. I'm really curious to see how much Marty weighs, looks massive!!! those Turkeys always steal the show, LOL Take care evryone and stay safe this Holiday-
Glad to see the first aide kit!
Marty is really friendly cow.😊
Friendly and needy!
One thing that was in your other Gator I believe was a gun rack for your rifle. Never know when you might need it to take care of an unwanted predator on the ranch.
Stay warm and safe brother from the imperial county California 👍 and have a happy new year 🎊🕛 you and your family 🎉🎊
I will try to Francisco. Happy new year to you and yours!
I TOTALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO MIKE 😊
Glad you liked it Randy.
Hi Mike, New to your channel. You have a great sense of humor. Don't ask how I got here, just interesting!
Hey Mike, I hope you, Erin and the kids had a great Christmas! With that said! Holy Turkey! 🤣 I am still trying to catch my breath. I thought I saw something but, not a turkey! 😂 Mike, you definitely need a rack for the back window of the Gator, just in case, for any reason. I will never be without mine. I hope you have a very Happy New Year and you and Erin definitely deserve a date night. ❤
The rack is a usual thing in my Gator. But I do like the idea of a window rack. Thanks.
I put 2 Neodymium magnets on my flashlight with electrical tape. Stick it anywhere.🧲🔦👍
Now there is an idea if I can get the 3D printer to work for me.
Mike, when you plan to work in an area that has a fixed camera, consider letting your Patreon members know in advance, the estimate date and time you will be there. This would be an extra benefit for your Patreon members. I think this would have worked well for today’s video.
Thanks for that suggestion JohnPaul.
We would be interested in a couple small roasts, beef and a pork as well as a couple small packs of country style ribs of like 3 to 4 ribs apiece. 1 beef and 1 of pork in doing as you suggested a shipment of 8 to 12#s to start out with.
Maybe add a spot lights to find cattle that seem to hide good.. headlights also..🇺🇸🌹❤️
Mike You need to keep Marty. If you can't tell when an animal is special and telling you then you need to learn. YOU MUST KEEP MARTY.
Another fun video, thanks Mike. I have invested in the tiny keychain version of the Olight flashlight that is also rechargable...SO bright !!
Thanks for sharing another video see you on next Our Wyoming Life have a bless week hugs and prayers ❤❤❤Merry Christmas And Happy New Year😊😊😊🎄
Thank you! You too Wykeisha.
I was wondering when you were going to get that gator back. All great suggestions. Hope you and your family had a great Christmas. Poor turkey! I am surprised she did not get stepped on. I'm sure that was not an enjoyable ride, lol! Those cows are so adorable. Even when they weigh 1100 pounds or more. Marty wanted a piggyback ride! Great video, Mike!
Thanks Mike...I have 2 steers supposed to go on Jan 4 have no scale so comparing to yours have a better idea what they weigh
Glad I could help Jennifer. Id be interested to hear how close your estimation is. Thanks for watching.
Good to see you got your Gator back. You did pretty good getting those feed lot Team A weighed, nice job. Thanks for sharing throughout the year, have a Happy New Year!
Marty thinks she's just a big puppy dog. I also just had to quit smoking (4 years as of Dec. 23rd) to gain weight but, it was the best decision I ever made. My mother died of lung cancer from smoking, which is what fueled my decision. I didn't want to be on full oxygen and still smoking like she was.
Sorry to hear about your Mom, but congrats on your 4 yr anniversary of being a former smoker. Wish ya the best of luck for the future!
Hi Mike
Hi Barb
Happy New to you and all the family, blessings to you all.
There is a fire extinguisher that the off roading people use that has the same fire fighting ability as yours but is smaller and could be easily mounted on your door post . It is shown in "24 Hours of Hell and Back" on you tube.
In your gator I would put a box of gloves because your job requires your hands to go in some pretty gross spots and gloves would be a great protection for you and the gator.
What a good decision that you made to purchase the Arrow equipment.
On 2 separate occasions I had a cat riding in my engine, one had a happy ending the other didn't 😮
Haven't had that experience...yet. Never say never though.
Marty being friendly is one thing but jumping on you could be dangerous.
I just eat sweets to gain weight. 😂Sweet feed with molasses would make them gain weight.Hope your momma cows leg got better. Happy new year to you and the family.👏💕🎄🙏
The bad thing about having Molasses added to feed this time of year is that it freezes. Happy new year to you and yours Cheryl.
The only time mine go in a trailer is to leave. Lol
If I had a 2nd scale it would be the same here Tim.
How was your Christmas Mike?
It was nice thanks Tammy.
Really enjoyed the video. Marty is a sweet, precious cow. Hope you and the family had a Merry Christmas. I hope the New Year brings you all many blessings on the ranch.
Thanks Lee_Lee. Happy new year to you also.
I hauled a single chicken in a round baler about two miles down the road. The guy fixing the baler called and asked if I wanted it back. I told him to set it free. I went and got it
Merry Christmas and happy new year from New York. I watch all your videos. It gets Mr through my off farm job
Happy Prospers New Year Mike and Family
Need strap downs, .22 cal rifle, large knife, a blanket (thermal), 12' length of chain and bottled water about a gallon.
God bless you and happy new year 🎉🎆
Great job David enjoy seeing what you are doing
9 mins, been waiting for the update!
Hope ya like the video Sandi.
❤😊 great video Mike!
Lovin it. Turkey wanted to see the other side. 😂 ❤
Mike that was hilarious about the turkey
Great video!!
Happy new year
Good video and thank you much.
