    I’m a little late to the party! I love Delonghi’s products. I bought one of these today after my Breville’s pump died after less than a year and my Gaggia had a burning smell and was burning my pucks! Never got a good shot out of that, even with a prosumer grinder. Can’t wait to make a shot with this!

    Great tip, gotta give this a shot one day
    And I’m on my second la specialista.
    First one carked it after the coffee grinder sensor broke resulting in random amounts of coffee being grinded

    Thank you so much for the review. I just bought this machine (used) and was reading so many bad reviews. I will be using this in a small cafè so I went ahead and purchased the two things you recommended. :)

    I own this machine too. The very fact that you need to buy 2 extra things, just get a decent espresso shot is the issue. Because you can buy a Breville Barista Express for the same price or cheaper. and get a decent espresso shot out of the box.

    We must’ve purchased ours around the same time that you did. Our heater element went out and Delonghi replaced it. Shortly after ours started making the same noise and sent it in again. They said that it’s normal and couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Would definitely purchase this machine again. We use it multiple times, daily!

    Could you use the standard DeLonghi portafilter basket under the additional grinder you have to fill with your separate grounds? Or do you recommend finding a stand alone 51mm filter to use for the external grinder? (I read that the DeLonghi portafilters are slightly off from true 51mm)

    When I grind on another machine, rather than messing with the dose button I just turn the machine off, then tamp, and then turn back on.
    No dial movement and doesn't need a separate tamp!

    I tried to buy the filter basket but they don't ship to the United States. I'll have to find one from another source.
    I get good pressure using the grind set to 1 with the dual walled basket but the puck does not knock out as clean as a single walled filter.
    One guy machined his grinder down in his lathe and shimmed it to make up for the metal he removed. That will get you the finer grind you want. I have a lathe and may modify mine at some point.
    Maybe I should sell the modified part for those that don't have a lathe?

    I reckon you put too much coffee in the basket; that's why the zone went to the red area. Should be a little bit less full in regard to the basket I reckon.

    • @aleksandarkocovski6939
      @aleksandarkocovski6939 2 роки тому

      Agree with Muhammed, you should adjust the grind setting with the grinding time, then you will have the correct amount all time with the correct grind... as well as correct pressure. You went on to red zone what I could see of that short split of sec.

    Salut! Je suis contente d'être tombée sur ta vidéo. Je voulais avoir l'avis d'un utilisateur avant d'entamer des démarches interminables avec le service client. Voici mes deux problèmes : Le sifflement métalique. Ca m'inquiète, mais il n'empêche pas le fonctionnement de la machine. Puis le filtre. Trop souvent l'indicateur de pression va droit au rouge puis le café ne coule pas. Constat : un seul grain est resté coincé dans l'unique trou du filtre. Très irritant. As-tu eu ce même problème avant d'acheter un filtre unique à multiples trous ? J'ai constaté que la pression est très haute dans l'exemple que tu nous a donné.. est ce que le filtre d'Amazon est vraiment la solution ? Bref, je considere utiliser la garantie pour une éventuelle réparation, mais j'ignore s'il s'agit de réels problèmes ou juste d'un manque d'ajustement de ma part. Merci pour cette vidéo, les commentaires prouvent que le service client provient davantage des utilisateurs que de la compagnie ! Haha!

    • @grenadeflicks
      @grenadeflicks  2 роки тому

      Le sifflement de notre côté on l'a jamais régler mais ca change vraiment rien, c'est juste vraiment fatiguant le son. Mais on pense à la faire ajuster car on arrive proche de la fin de vie de la garantie. Pour le filtre ca arrive que tu doit le nettoyer, c'est normal. Pour le filttre à multuple trou, il faut que tu ai un grinder different car c'est un filtre non pressurisé. le filtre d'amazon est pas la solution su tu n'est pas pret à acheter un grinder separer. Mon vidéo montre simplement comment obtenir la meilleur shot possible avec un grinder exterieur et un filtre non préssurisé.

      The default grinder will give you great shot if you use medium roast beans, anything dark roast will not be so good. This machine is more about ease to use. If you want more control over how you prepare the shot I recommend the Beeville barista express machine.

      I always need to set the grinder to 1 - the finest setting. And I need to overdose. And even with this the gauge does not show the optimal level. Buy DeLonghi Dedica and possibly the Breville grinder - you will save $300 and get better results. And they will need the same space on your counter.

    There is no way in heck that the portafilter is up to heat in a few seconds I owned this machine and the portafilter took closer to 10 minutes to fully heat up. Why do you just get a more legit machine like a gaggia or rancilio If you have a smart grinder pro you will get significantly better shots since it’s using a 58mm portafilter

    • @guillaumebourdages720

    I received an email to call customer service about my bad review. Of course the number was to someone that couldn't do anything but offer me a 20% off coupon! Why would I ever want a 20% coupon for another Delonghi product???. She asked if I had a reference number or anything. Of course the email they sent me was automated and no why to link it to my review. Why would they? They don't really care to help me in anyway or they would have left a number to talk to someone about the review I left. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. The lady couldn't even spell my name right and of course we got disconnected.
    Delonghi's response to any review that is bad is fake as their customer service. I live in one of the largest cities in the USA and would had to drive or mail my unit over 3 1/2 hours from where I live to the only authorized service center in all of Florida! The customer service couldn't even give me a service provider in the county of Broward County Florida! BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE ONE!!! I tried calling every coffee place from Fort Lauderdale to Miami and nobody would work on it, or even look at it. I am done with Delonghi and all their products FOREVER! I will make sure I post it on all the media outlets I can, of my experience.
    WORSE PURCHASE I EVER MADE
    Purchased this machine in 9/2019. Had to send back to have it worked on twice. Thank God it was under warranty for 3 years. They even had to replace the tray, frother sliding plastic housing that slides up for no foam and down for foam and the grinder. Warranty just expired in 9/2022 and of course it is falling apart again. Needs gaskets replaced, the grind control knob made of cheap plastic broke off and I maybe have set the grind twice since I have owned the machine. The housing starting coming apart and this machine is never moved. I am bringing my 9 YEAR OLD BREVILLE BARISTA back home from the office in place of the LA SPECIALISTA. I have never had a problem with the Breville machine. Guess I will take the La Specialista to a small appliance repair to see if it is even worth fixing. If not, in the trash it goes. I love the look of it and was hoping it would last for more than 3 years. Quality in my opinion is really poor!
