    Great Idea. If you want to, you can always put some heat shrink tubing on prior to making your splices and the shrink it around the joints. It will make it a little more weather resistant. The stuffs CHEAP too. Just like I like it. ;)

    very good job of those fans wiring been thinking about doing that one thing that not short in computer fans I used to do commercial Salvage I saved them back from all the computers are tore down suggestion check computer stores especially ones that do repairs they usually have used fans and using a barrel connector looks great for wiring I do off grid solar setups you did an awesome job on those and for the psoriasis I have it and people don't like it that's their problem dirty now you work like that we do I always say if you're going to complain about dirty hands and dirty nails well you definitely don't belong on a homestead and it just shows that we work hard thanks for the video God bless Carl and Linda desert Homestead

    excellent video and will be doing this. I'll use this in my chicken coups as well for an exhaust system in there. I did this same type thing when I had my houseboat and my woody, it circulated air in the hull, kept mildew out.. It will work great in the chicken coups. Gzzzz you gave me yet another project like I needed more projects lol. I do use your idea on the caging system with a twist and was going to sell the panels but I just don't have time to sell those so now provide the info where folks can get the panels for 5 and 10 dollars. Its worth buying a pallet of those if a person can. Great videos, great ideas

    great setup. was wondering if you thought maybe it would help any to mount the fans on the backside of the cages to pull the cooler shaded air out from under the deck? you could mount them all once, when you first set it up for the season with some cheapy toggle switches run up to the top back of the cages for your extra fans. then if you need more fan just flip a switch and they're on. love your vids man. keep em coming

    Have you ever thought about adding a 12 volt battery to keep the fans running on those hot August nights. I remember all too well as a kid it was so damn hot even at midnight with a box fan I could not sleep. I am talking Oklahoma hot in July and August. Today I have central heat and air and I sleep like a baby on the hottest nights.

    I LIKE YOUR SETUP. THE SOLAR FAN ARE A GREAT IDEA. I WAS WONDERING WHERE YOU GOT YOUR CAGE MATERIAL. I JUST BOUGHT ALL THE MATERIALS TO BIULD 2 CAGES. I HAVE JUST UNDER 100 DOLLARS IN THEM. I DIDN'T REALIZE HOW EXPENSIVE GETTING STARTED WOULD BE. I LIKE YOUR SETUP MUCH BETTER. ABOUT WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN A CAGE? IF YOU GET THE TIME TO REPLY I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.

      Not sure how your coops are set up but mine is really large and split into a large turkey pen and 3 smaller chicken pens with large runs. I planted grape vines that in 2 years completely cover the top and back of the runs and they stay very cool and also get treats dropping in the pen

    We just had two 100 degree days and I lost a rabbit. My question is how to gauge whether covering a side of their cage is more beneficial because it is creating shade...or less beneficial because it is blocking air flow...I will be using the ceramic tile idea...I would appreciate any advice...

    • @copperheadranch976
      @copperheadranch976 5 років тому

      Best bet is to extend the roof so that it shades them all day. Have all sides and bottom wire open but the roof should be much bigger than the cage.
