- Obviously... the main problem with my hydro dipped pair of crocs is that they are just too cool to even exist I'm kidding we for some reason picked up acrylic spray paint instead of regular spray paint, although I'm not 100% sure if regular spray paint would work better or worse, probably just differently or at least not crack and flake off as easily. But yes I wound up with just essentially painted crocs WHICH IS STILL BADASS AND YES I LEAVE AN ART TRAIL WHEREVER I GO. But will probably eventually flake off entirely even with the layer of sealant. I would definitely recommend this form of fun having however! I had a 10/10 time doing it and although I would have liked to have had a beautiful long lasting pair of crocs to wear, I think I might give it another go with a different type of paint and absolutely love the effect it created. Below are the clips that I used from people (more successfully and knowledgeably) hydro dipping sneakers as well a pair of crocs that deeply inspired me so at least their shoes came out better than mine. But I'm still going to wear mine anyways. I don't really care. I hope this inspired you to have some hydro dip fun in the future or to check out some videos on youtube because they are in fact very relaxing to watch. Anyways I gotta go vacuum everything my feet touched. Goodbye have a good day.

the reason why the paint is coming off the crocs is because you used acrylic paint. Acrylic paint dries and cracks because it isn’t very flexible compared to other paints. I’m not sure if it would work but there is a paint that is more flexible called fabric paint and could stick onto the crocs as long as they had texture which would require you to sand down any smooth surface with sand paper :)

Fabric paint is flexible but not meant for shoes because of the wear and tear. You need actual shoe paint which has the flexibility and durability, it’s possible liquid latex (like Setador paint) might work because of the material crocs are specifically made of but even hat might peel after too much use. I’ve used Setador for cosplay shoe paint but I only wore those shoes for 2-3 days at max a year.
Rewatching her videos has become a habit of comfort. I’m so grateful she allowed us to continue to rewatch them 💕

Next time you hydro dip something, spray the object with a spray paint primer. The spray paint sticks to the primer and it won't come off

If it all cracks off they make spray paint that's fabric paint so it doesn't crack on movement so that might be better

Acrylic should be working well with movement, maybe add some medium to it.
if you spray it closer to the water it becomes less of a solid layer, meaning it won't all peel off and will actually dye the crocs!! also makes it more marble-y!! you got it in the end I think tho it looks amazing!!!!
Also, I don't know if she cleaned the crocs before dipping them. That could have also caused the peeling problem. It looks like most people tape up the sides to prevent peeling as well.
Use plastic ready spray paint (next time or if someone does try) acrylic will peel off rubber/plastic..
@UCjUTflZ8vGyORNqPWXxCSpA Acrylics are water soluble and Crocs are water proof because they're made out of plastic, so the paint won't stick :/ plastic ready paint adhears to plastic unlike acrylics
I second this! Also make sure when/if you do sealant to make sure you’re using it far enough away from the item or else you’ll screw up the paint.
If you coat them with Plastidip as a primer, then the acrylic paint will stick no problem! Now off to paint my crocs!

Washing them and wiping then with acetone than spraying a matte sealer first would work also

@Kirsten Anger-- It would be super-cool if she put on a skinhead "wig" thingie and a unitard or bathing suit the same color as her skin! Julien would have to "mop" the surface of the water with paper towels before she came up for air to keep from ruining her work. Finding a big enough tub would be the issue, I think. While I'm thinking about it, Avon makes a hand lotion called Silicone Glove. It puts a protective, easy to wash off layer on skin, and Jenna should definitely put something on her skin to keep the body paint from staining her in tie-dye colors.
