I’ve watched SEVERAL of your videos from high end, to mid level, to Amazon $100 bows….and each and everyone you have shooting quiet, on point, and consistent. You shoot a $100 Amazon bow as good as a $800+ bow….Very obvious to me that being a good shot/hunter is 10% of the bow and 90% of the shooters skills. The saying “practice makes perfect” sums up archery in a nut shell from my observations.
This is my second bow from sanlida. I also have royal x8. They give you very nice bow for a fraction of the money. I’m very pleased. Thank you Jeff for sharing these bows with us.
Great that you can help sanlida make a good reliable bow!!! If archers need a left hand now the Oakridge shade V2 is redesigned just like this one in left hand..
Great video, Jeff, thanks for what you are doing to promote affordable Trad bows. I was happy to see your mention about padding the limbs at the ILF bolt. so many times I've heard ILF bows, expensive ones, that sound like they are flying apart, and I can only hope that some padding would help quiet them down.
Ok, ILF riser question. A 17in riser in wood, aluminum, and carbon fiber with all other things the same what would you expect the difference to be? I have 2 ILF bows, a 17 carbon riser and a 21in aluminum. I find no noticeable difference between the two (other than the draw cycle a long dl individual finds with a longer bow). I have never done a side by side comparison with identical limbs and strings on different riser materials of the same length and I am curious if the cost difference in materials is worth it
It sounds like you're comparing the Sanlida Hermit 8 to the Mandarin Duck Black Hunter-two popular and affordable bows often discussed among archers. Here's a breakdown to help you decide: Sanlida Hermit 8: Type: Takedown recurve bow. Pros: High-quality materials for the price. Modular design; limbs can be upgraded. Comfortable grip and good balance. Suitable for target shooting and entry-level hunting. Cons: Heavier compared to some other models. Limb choices might be limited in certain markets. Mandarin Duck Black Hunter: Type: Takedown recurve or longbow (versions available). Pros: Compact design, making it easy to carry. Excellent value for the money. Smooth draw with good speed. Great for beginners and intermediate archers. Cons: Less modular than the Sanlida; fewer upgrade options. Grip size may not suit everyone. Comparison: Performance: The Black Hunter is often praised for its smooth draw and speed, which might make it better for hunting. The Hermit 8 leans more toward versatility and is a solid option for both target and hunting scenarios. Build Quality: Both bows are well-constructed, but the Hermit 8 has a more modern finish and offers more upgrade paths. Price: Both are in a similar price range, but the Black Hunter tends to be slightly more affordable. Personal Preference: If you value modularity and versatility, go with the Sanlida Hermit 8. If you prefer compactness and simplicity, the Mandarin Duck Black Hunter might be your choice. Final Verdict: Sanlida Hermit 8 is better for those who want a bow that grows with them. Mandarin Duck Black Hunter is ideal for beginners or archers wanting a straightforward bow with great performance for its size. Let me know if you’d like further insights or comparisons!
Jeff well done! I purchased two of the older riser models. One had failed and was readily replaced by Sanlida. The two I have seem ok. Do you know if they will be replacing them? I was gonna reach out to them just wondering if you have any inside info on that? They are both 40lbers.
Jeff mentions the 62 inch bow for extreme draw lengths like 31 inch, but how about a 30 inch draw? The bow product pages don't really specify a maximum draw length for each size bow.
Mister jeff where do they State or chart over drawlenght. Tried looking for it and cant seem to find the word that says u Can draw a 62” up 32 inch drawlenght

Seems a little like you just desigend the 'perfect' bow for them, for free, and with your full endorsement - but no royalties from the sales, or even your 'signature model' name on the bow. Hope you go paid something at least.
Jeff, you have been honey potted by the, not necessarily directly the CCP, but the seraget surfs of the CCP as they are that controlled by them in buisiness. Hearing you say that you previously was collaborating with them to help them resolve an engineering/design issue puts a big "?" on ones character and does pose honest questions from patriotic citizens and military veterans like myself. I wonder if you have been bought off by compensation, I wonder if you are even aware of what the Communist Chinese are doing to this country and across the globe infiltrating sovereign people and countries trying to own and dominate them. Honestly, I sadly think you are aware of what is going on.

Jeff I’d like to hear your thoughts on the Royal x8 recurve vs the new hermit x8 ilf
I’d like see that plus the Hermit X10 comparing each.
First here, great video as always Jeff!
Ever try trimming moleskin pads from Walgreens? I use it under the limbs and on the shelf. Its very smooth but wont last as long as velcro.
Congrats on the bow improvement. How soon till the bow with your modifications come out? Gonna buy one as soon as possible

Another awesome video brother can't buy no more bows I will be in the dog house I just took a big leap in order CD WF 25 inch rider with the hump
Wish they had a left hand option. Good looking bow and for the price, WOW
I second this comment!!!!!
try being left handed and tall with a 30"+ draw length. It drastically reduces my choices in bows.
Jeff have you ever tried an eagle flight bow quiver? Very light and great quality
Hermit X10 vs Hermit X8? First ever recurve bow. Switching from compound to trad to try.
Another great informative video. Where do you get your velcro material? Thanks.
Menards, Walmart, Home Depot.
What kind of Velcro do you use?
What is poundage on your bow Brother Jeff?
Can u make a video on putting on and set up of a flipper rest?
What poundage are you shooting on that one??🇺🇲
What arrow shafts do you run with a 7 in wrap

Hi, Jeff. I'd like to know if the x eight and the x ten share the same limbs or are they different

So, we have to know.... Takedown or one piece? Say, for a hunting setup.
What’s the tiller for split finger?
Do they sell the limbs so you can change weight
He set it 1/8 in the video. Which is good start for split finger.
