- Here you have the CITY fuel consumption (fuel economy real-life test) of Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid 2021/2022 (petrol engine + electric) in a city (urban area, also in heavy traffic). This car has 1.5 l inline-3 petrol + electric hybrid system with 85 kW (116 HP), FWD, automatic e-CVT gearbox. Result: 3.5 l/100 km (67.2 mpg US / 80.7 mpg UK).

As always, I checked real fuel consumption on a petrol station. I noticed 2% difference: computer shows lower by ~2% fuel consumption comparing to what I refueled. - Авто та транспорт
That's a brilliant test, and a great idea to show the actual amount of time the ICE is off. Your route is also the kind of driving I do - stop-start city driving. This car is on my shortlist.
Awesome job, well done! 👏👏👏
Thanks!!! =D
I'm really surprised by the results! This is going to be a best seller
Excellent 😇
Super ta nowa Yariska
PERFECT SMALL CROSSOVER 🙂👍
Does preheating the car make the engine run even if the battery isn't depleted, or does it have a heat pump like a prius
Hey!
Just ordered one last week
I just want to ask, in city traffic, when you are stopped at red lights you put the e-cvt in N (neutral) or do you use the auto-hold button?
Thanks!
Just keeping my foot on the brake pedal :) If you want, you can use auto-hold.
Does this difference you've noticed between computer and refueling has anything to do with the fact that the car is brand new (low mileage)? Perhaps this would "calibrate" once the hybrid battery is in full function? I see that Yaris and C-HR have 0 difference..
No, it depends on the specific car. You will check for example 12 Toyota's C-HR, and every of them will have differences with it :)
Very nice, but I don't just like small cars, security with big things has lways been my priority
That's outstanding consumption with these big wheels (18'')! Do you also consider to make a test driving on B (Brake) ? I made a quick test drive in my dealer here and consumption went even lower driving on B. You only feel a small "drag" when you leave pedal similar to what you feel with a normal combustion engine (with the gear on).
B mode should be used only when you are descending a steep road in order not to overuse the regular brakes. B stands for brake. It's the engine that brakes, limiting it's revs to keep a steady descending speed. It is not intended for use in regular driving in city or highway

Is this the 2wd or awd? We have both options in Australia. The awd claimed to use more.
This is FWD, as I wrote on the movie and in the description. But on my channel you can also find results for AWD version.
Hi, very interesting video; I'm really struggling to find the range of this model in EV only. I see in your video you did 31.5 km but you also reached the end of the trip. What is the maximum range you can do on EV mode only? I'm hesitating between the Yaris Cross and the Renegade 4xe which gives you 45KM in EV which is fine for our suburban/urban daily errands.
Yaris Hybrid is not a PLUG-IN hybrid car, so there is no point to talk about electric range of this car. You cannot charge the battery of Yaris from outside electric source.
@@1001cars I know that, but on your video, you say you did 28KM and 1h 19 minutes on electric only with the combustion engine off, and only 3,46 KM and 10 minutes with the combustion engine on. I know the battery is charged using the combustion engine, but I would like to know the max range you can do with the combustion engine off. According to Toyota is only 1.5 Km; you show 31.5 Km. Thanks!
@@jjrecourt No, I did not show 31,5 km in EV. Whole trip took 31.5 km.
@@jjrecourt I see what you mean. Although the official range is almost 0 due to small battery, seems the car is ridiculously efficient on low speeds. If it is only 1,5 km but it tops up almost constantly as in this video 89% of total time, might be close to %30 of total distance??. I’d compare non hybrid version of Yaris Cross’s avg fuel consumption and the other car you’re thinking in this case.
@@1001cars but you say in your video 1:19h time with combustion engine off - what does that mean then?
WOW 3.5l/100km this is only possibile with the Toyota (AISIN search in Wikipedia) ECVT Hybrid transmition. All the rest of the car manufacturers do not understand this, with the exception of Ford, which has also been using it since 2005.
Aha i pozdrawiam.
PS. what's interesting is that Ford ecvt howl was solved by the use of Li-ion battery and simulate of gear shifting.
what temp climate control was set to when testing?
Look at 00:12 :)
@@1001cars To głupie.
I can see the engine was already preheated. How many kilometers does it take to warm it to optimal temperature and how does it affect to fuel consumption ?
Seems like the car is fuel efficient in the city, but on the high speed roads very inefficient?
Watch the video linked in the description. I put it also in the end of this video.
Hi, please Tell me fuel consumpiton for BMW g30 520d or 520d ED. rwd (Not xdrive ) 520d 190hp steptronic
On which day of the week?
I bet its a dud. Does it crash into walls. Does it just stop and die like its big brother RAV4?
Honda Jazz HEV?
I am waiting for the slot :)
Country road please?
Soon, the video is uploading :)
@@1001cars thanks
I went for a test drive 3 days ago with the Yaris cross Hybrid , and i noticed that the average fuel consumption was 5,8 L / 100 km . How could it be so high ?
Many factors: how fast did you drive? Did you use all the power? Driving style.
@@1001cars It was the average fuel consumption i noticed just before i started to drive . When i drove , i kept a steady pace and moved mostly with the electric motor .
@@michaelilias2548 So it was sb. else driving, right?
@@1001cars Yes , it was the average fuel consumption until i entered the car .
@@michaelilias2548 So... I do not understand why we should talk about it? :) It could be anything, including highway driving (6,1-7,9 l/100 km). If I asked you to pay the bill for 100 USD without saying for what it is, how can you judge if this bill is too high?
Hello, can you make the same test on a Ford Puma please?
Only around 400 km on a full tank, or am I not seeing something ? 😅
Somehow I drove this car 800 km on one tank :)
I can't get no where near this MPG . My car in new it might take time
415km range with full 36l tank?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
and... I drove 31,5 km when range was lower by 16 km. Computer estimated range... Do you believe in it?
Can you explain what is a lie?
Reserve fuel is 6 Liters (5.8) ..estimated available range (which is not that accurate) should not account for fuel reserve.
People need to understand that the fuel range is for the fuel in the tank! If it's running in electric mode it doesnt use fuel, hence the reason its called a hybrid petrol electric! 🤡
Come on guys, this is common sense 😂😂😂
U didn't yrst it on highway it consums a lot
U didn't watch the video until the end and didn't read the description: ua-cam.com/video/og2cBxHSKK8/v-deo.html
