They actually both were chasing over the weekend and met up several times! I believe they both even intercepted the same tornado, if not they at least both intercepted that day!!

@@joeysipos After the release of his IMAX film Tornado Alley, it's my understanding that he returned to his life as a film maker. Not to mention some of the guys from the Storm Chasers show who drove one of the other vehicles were killed that year by a tornado. One slip up and its curtains.
It’s so good to see TIV2 back in action YALL should make more videos of intercepting then I would watch all of them (I keep rewatching storm chasers because of TIV2)

That was a pretty good intercept, the blue hue while you were navigating the town gave the tornado quite an eerie feel.
Also, I do hope you have sealed all of the leaks that plagued the TIV all the time on the show, the rain looked to be coming down in absolute buckets.
I'll never fully appreciate how many things have to align to get an intercept vehicle into a tornado!

😊 TIV 2 back after all these years. Last I saw TIV 2 intercept was forever ago! You guys take great care of this masterpiece! Congratulations! This is where TIV2 belongs. Grew up watching it on TV & just a few months ago I saw you guys show up near Menard TX on a supercell through Reed's livestream. You guys where literally right next to my family's ranch out that way.
It can easily take more than EF-3.

@@aviationdoge8699 u realize EF5 is winds over 200mph? There is no way it could handle that. Even with its abilities.

I've been doing some research on the TIV series of interceptors and I think its amazing how the TIV2 is still in service even after all this time! great job refurbishing the thing and letting it chase tornadoes even after all these years!

Seeing the TIV on the road again is amazing, After seeing the EF3 intercept in 2013 I knew that it was about as capable as the get, hope y'all get more intercepts and happy chasing!
Super stoked to see this beast out prowling doing what it was built to do. Good on y’all for keeping this legend alive.. Hopefully someday the OG TIV will be put back together and out there prowling again… Sean is the OG and built these beasts himself which gives me mad respect for him..
Good job I guess. This definitely counts as an intercept since the tornado was pretty close to you guys based on what I believe was the inflow. Would've been nice if we could actually see the thing though and that this wasn't another dark, rainy intercept like Smith Center, KS, 2013. 😂
Certainly wont go down as a top photogenic intercept but the funnel you see towards the end went right over top which is why you end up seeing power flashes on the left and then right side of us

Storm of passion installed a siren on the TIV to draw attention to it from rural residents. I believe the thought process is "if they see an armored tornado tank deployed in their yard, they better get to shelter

the rugged intercom system has an audio out, just goes right into cameras
A helmet is such a simple thing but I imagine they’re especially useful for storm chasers. Hail, in particular!

You know one of these days, one of these interceptors may just intercept the wrong one. This is fuck around and find out just waiting to happen between dom3 and tiv2. Hope that isn’t the case ever but you know..

Probably 1 look at the one they got 10 years ago that was ef3
@@willekewk the ef scale isnt based on wind speeds but is based on damage for example the el reno tornado had wind speed of 302 mphs yet was given a rating of ef3

during a tornado its kinda hard to enforce a rule but the sirens purpose was to warn people
The sound of the howling winds is horrifying, especially when paired with the apocalyptic ambient lighting.
Glad the TIV is back to chasing, still can't believe how cheap Shawn sold that thing for.

per the Wikipedia it says they put sirens on the vehicle since they were in storms where they were unable to warn residents of incoming tornadoes. they use it to warn nearby people of imminent danger
You guys really need to be careful around powerlines with that thing. Hopeing you have a rubber ground in between the seats and the cab

Why you guys post so little about when you guys chase not being rude but when reed chases he always has a video up if it’s chasing in his beat up Subaru Forrester or one of the srv dominator vehicles 🤷🏽♂️and also your friend who owns tiv 1 hasn’t made a update in months on the tivs status can you confirm if the vehicle has been chasing recently or it’s still being worked on 🤔?

A word to your team, I'm sure that Sean is in his SUV with spikes (which sounds like a bad idea because 1. No armor, 2. No good may to film it
3.the winds gonna get underneath)
But I'm sure there's more things that you could cover for us and don't mention the video you made about where is Sean Casey because that information was kinds useless. I also feel like you need to get more footage on the platform because where else would you show it? Also I have a question about your motivation to intercept tornadoes, other than science of course.
We might do more on UA-cam but tiktok has shown us 10x the success.

We do live stream on FB and Tiktok. But livestreaming is not as useful as you think, its low quality low bit rate video, TIV has always been designed for professional video/film work.
@@stormofpassion if u did what Reed is doing though people feel more involved following the whole chase instead of shorts and edited vids. Just a idea I'm sure your having fun off line chasing storms without having to deal with live videos but the public at large will come with subscription and watch hours if u take this famous vehicle and make them feel involved like the tv show did. Putting us in the dome and driver's seat as you chase storms

Say what you want. Sean built his beasts himself. And had Sean never built the TIV you probably would have never heard of Dominator. Reed is a stud no doubt, but Sean is the man and the OG…
