Turns out the new Fallout show is pretty good, eh? Who knew? I was going to do a The Ghoul roleplay, but I already did a rotten one some time ago ( • Fallout ASMR - Deuces'... ) and it took ages to grow my nose back. Besides, my teeth are far too Anglo Saxon to compete with Walton Goggins and his post-punchout gnashers.
So, here is a Fallout ASMR roleplay that was requested a number of years ago instead! It’s everyone’s favourite morally ambiguous, but ‘good-I-guess’, neighbour, Joshua Graham! The burned man will check the barrels of numerous guns before making sure you’re okay, giving you a stimpak or two, and patching you up to make sure you’re ready for the wastes. His particular style of personal attention and taking care of you involves a lot of pretty aimless discussion and prayer - all softly spoken and relaxing, I promise. I couldn’t get the voice right (it’s quite distinctive and my god the bandages were restrictive), but I hope you forgive me, and moreover, enjoy!

🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

Tbh I am. As a gun guy who has owned many real 1911's, the fake plastic toy gun sounds throw me out of the immersion.

As a fresh ex-Mormon who was born into the church in the heart of 'Zion', I wish that I encountered more Joshua Grahams (at least this version). I was not expecting this Fallout ASMR to help me heal fresh wounds from my former religion as I'm in the process of deconstructing, but here we are. Thanks, Jim!
P.S. that Mormon prayer was spot-on. Sounded just like every prayer I've ever heard or said myself.
Do not lose Jesus Christ as the core while you shed the flawed religion around you. Religion is of man and, as such, is imperfect - but don't toss aside your relationship with Christ and the Father.
Joshua manipulating language to say "Not no." to killing while he sees himself, sinlessly and soulfully, obediently, not enjoying it.
Absolving himself from that haunting "Thou shalt not kill." commandment, by practising " Love thy neighbour."
Loving his protective warrior tribe, helping them out by providing them with the use of his haul of guns.
Also by protecting harmless wounded lone strangers he could easily recruit/indoctrinate.
He IS trying to be a good religious man just by holy helping his neighbours out. After all God can't be everywhere to help them out with their holy duty, of war.
Joshua certainly does have a LOT of bandages. In more ways than one.
Also a lot of faith in their saving salve.
Like a mafia boss religiously attending church every Sunday for absolvement, for himself and his family, to clean his weekly slate of sins ready for the following week's refill.
He iIS trying....in his own unsound mind.
In that unsound apocalyptic situation I would hope that I would be able to find the strength and means to go my own safe way with an unsound mind.
I do really like those echoing metallic sounds in the stillness though. I could imagine that they're the sounds of locks being clasped on the inside of metal doors and shutters of a safe survival fortress wall. Disguised on the outside as rock. Above a series of comfy well supplied glow worn lit caverns with fresh ocean air blowing in from daylight lit fissures in high seacliffs at the back and fresh arteesian spring waters.
Living off of long line and net fishing and seaweed.
My imagined apocalypse escape.

There was a time in my life where I was attending church and exploring faith, Joshua kind of made me more interested in it because of how interesting he was to me. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I went to church I just couldn’t believe. Everyone seemed so happy, but I’d rather be honest about my beliefs than pretend that I believe that felt wrong.
Lovely work on this! Thank you for suffering through wearing *so much* to give us that authentic Burned Man look, especially! Those bandages could not have been comfortable, but it adds so much to your performance!
Also, I am weirdly enthralled by the combination of gun maintenance and cave noises... The echo-y click and slide... It's like salty fries dipped in chocolate milkshake, for my ears. Just lovely.

I've never played Fallout before, but this ASMR and learning more about the character of Joshua Graham has made me very interested and might finally get me to play it. Keep up the good work Jim!

The timing and the execution is spot ok and excellent as always. I have to wonder though, how many times did you need to watch Graham on loop to get his animation set to perfectly memorised and recreated?
He sounds more like ulysses here, but good try tho, joshuas voice is pretty hard to replicate

I’ve always admired Graham’s dedication to checking between two and infinity guns for clickiness, for all eternity. I hope that one day, I, too, will find the purpose for which I was created. (No good leads yet but I suspect my purpose has something to do with bein a goofy lil guy.)

I know this is strange, but Joshua Graham as a whole just makes me feel so calm. He's such an interesting character and I don't know why, but I just feel so calm around him.
I think it's because he's so genuine.
When he says "Go's be woth you", you can hear it's not just a hollow phrase. He genuinely wants you to be safe.
If you threaten him, he still stays calm and just explains why you shouldn't.
He is definitely a threat, but not towards you.

I researched by watching a few shorts from what looked like original source(s?),but, had some very different graphic styles. In my opinion, the accent is pesky to isolate for certain. It sounds like its from at least two entirely different regions, possibly more *and*, in every one, the voice is not muffled as any living being would sound through two or more layers of thick cloth bandages. In other words, I think you did great & are more believable than the original/s.)
The sheer clash between being incredibly relaxed but resisting the urge to sleep because I’m too engaged is bloody strong.
