[AUS] Nintendo 3DS Ice White + Super Mario 3D Land UNBOXING - EB Games 'Preowned' Edition

- I bought a Nintendo 3DS Ice White from EB Games, Australia. These consoles are being sold as 'Preowned' because there are being imported form the UK/EUR. In this video I unbox one of these Ice White 3DSs to find out if it is new or used, and what EB Games provides in the box.

Wow the color explains the "ice" in the name of "ice white", looking at it gives you the feeling of the snow of the winter and its beautiful white color, congratulations for the 3DS man :)

Aqua Blue was my original favourite colour until the red and white 3DS's came out. Now the white one is my favourite! It just looks minimalist and cool.

Hi, thanks for commenting! After several months of using the white and red 3DS, I still prefer the white 3DS. I think it looks the sleekest of all the current colours, although the red isn't far behind. The only problem with the white colour, that I have found, is that there is some light leak near the lower screen that shines through case. It's not a big deal, but it's something that doesn't happen on the red version. Do you have a colour preference?
Thanks for your comment! I must admit, I prefer that the top part is black. I think they did it to make the screen 'feel' bigger than it actualy is compared to the size of the bezel. I think black looks OK on the white. (But a whole white console would look good too)

Hi Samson, the Europe/UK 3DS can have its language set to several different languages during the initial start up settings, including English. Also, if you import 3DS games to work on the system, some of these games will work with other games in the US, but others won't. EG, the online servers for Monster Hunter 3G are being region locked. (Which sucks). I don't know if Nintendo releasing a white 3DS in the US (Apparently white doesn't traditionally sell very well in the US). Hope that helps! :)
Hi genises1993, thanks for your comment! The white colour has a glossy finish just like the red 3DS. It's not as striking as the red finish, but it still has a clean, slick look to it. As for the buttons, the red and white buttons are more clickly. However, I much prefer this to the feel of the launch edition black and blue 3DSs. As for the white colour getting dirty... I don't think it will. I've only had it for a day, but I think the clear finish will stop the white getting dirty.
We open them to put an australian charger in them and place the G sticker on so we don't get in trouble ^^
It's all new but when we import from someone other than our distributor, it has to be listed as preowned. You'll sometimes buy "preowned" games that are brand new.
For example, games bundled with a console, such as the ps3 that comes with DJ hero 2, people will often trade in towards the console itself.
Preowned is great, just always ask to check the disc/console :)
Good Review!. I've just ordered one from EB games, and yes, they have very limited stock there. Instead of 3ds ice white, it seems that 3ds xl white edition will be launched in AUS which will be fully covered by white color. But anyway, original 3ds looks better.
Swapping out the motherboards isn't as hard as you'd think. There are teardown guides on iFixit. It seems fairly straight forward, and it means you can have any colour you want!

The Mario game works perfectly on my EUR and AUS 3DS. Because the AUS and EUR region is the same (PAL), any game bought from these regions will work on this 3DS (All of my AUS games work on the white 3DS perfectly). Also, the eShop is the Australian eShop, and it connected to my nintendo account without any problems. I hope that helps!

why did they make the top part black i think it would look better if it was all white. did they make it black so that it would look better when the light on the screen is on? excellent review by the way my friend

Your video is awesome.I have a couple of questions....Does the white color get dirty easily or is it coated for protection.I also heard that the red 3DS buttons are a little clicky so what about the white one.What about the glossy finish on the white model is it the same as the one on the red?? apparently the 3ds is going to be able to play a 4 local co op. for monster hunter does this mean if i buy one from uk, that the coop will not work in the us.
Hi, I don't have a Gamestop in Australia (although EB Games is owned by Gamestop). You can trade in your blue console here with EB Games, but they won't give you a very good trade offer. Good luck!

EB Games got bought out by Gamestop but it weird that in the USA there is no longer the store called EB Games outside of the USA it's like vise versa ... They don't have a GameStop but they have an EB Games.
Yes it is EB Games everywhere else then America, I live in Canada and have only seen EB Games, never a Gamestop.

Hi Hedwigex7, Nintendo region lock their consoles (which is really annoying). So a AUS/UK/EU 3DS won't work with 3DS games in the US.

i guess ill have to get a UK white ice version imported and then buy a US one then take them apart and simply swap out the housings so I can have my region 3ds white. idk why nintendo wont just make all colors available. and they only give us 3 colors no one wants. pink and purple which are for girls so us guys are stuck with only one option. black. i like black but i would like the option to choose. is that too much to ask, nintendo?

aqua blue is pretty sexy as is midnight purple.....Australia will never get Purple so i settled for blue.

get a 3ds XL the screen is huge battery life is longer. the people who say 3ds XL makes games look pixely must be holding the 3ds 1 millimetre away from the face lol. theres 4 or 5 colours i think for it the ones im sure are red blue and gray/white

Both the UK and AUS speak english... why would the language not be english? This wasn't a Japanese imported 3ds.
