A fuel leak from the fuel pressure regulator was noticed on the BMW E39. To eliminate fuel leakage, the sealing seals of the fuel pressure regulator were first replaced. After replacing the oil seals, the problem remained, because the fuel pressure regulator itself failed. Fuel this time leaked not from the oil seals, but from inside the fuel pressure regulator. Inside the fuel pressure is regulated, there is a membrane that regulates the fuel pressure using a vacuum. Since the fuel appeared where the vacuum hose is connected, this means that the membrane is damaged and the fuel appears where it should not. Since the fuel pressure regulator is beyond repair, it was noticeable entirely. After replacing the fuel pressure regulator, the leak stopped.

На БМВ Е39 была замечена утечка топлива из регулятора давления топлива. Для устранения утечки топлива в первую очередь были заменены уплотнительные уплотнения регулятора давления топлива. После замены сальников проблема осталась, так как вышел из строя сам регулятор давления топлива. Топливо на этот раз вытекало не из сальников, а изнутри регулятора давления топлива. Внутри давление топлива регулируется, есть мембрана, которая регулирует давление топлива с помощью вакуума. Поскольку топливо появилось там, где подсоединен вакуумный шланг, значит мембрана повреждена и топливо появляется там, где не должно. Так как регулятор давления топлива ремонту не подлежит, это было заметно целиком. После замены регулятора давления топлива течь прекратилась.

dude, i couldnt understand what you were saying, but im glad i found this video after a weeklong hunt. been smelling gas after engine shutdown, in my 2000 320 for two years now. thought it was the injectors, so i replaced all of them. then the dealer here in japan told me it was the purge valve. replaced that too, but still the gas smell persisted. a few days ago i finally saw the leaking fuel pressure regualator. i am sooooooo happy i dont have to remove the fuel rail
