@@CrossingCrafts You too, Diana! I hope your Halloween was a fun one! Thank you again for such wonderful videos: they really get my creative juices flowing!
this is the perfect combination of cute and creepy, i love it! it's so well made too. it reminds me of 'the terrible secret of animal crossing' (worth a read if you ever have a spare bit of time and haven't read it before) which was a fun memory for me! thank you for making this~
I just found your channel and am really enjoying binging all of your videos. The pattern on the ground turned out great! All the time you put into tracing the little triangles paid off.
I think I've seen an animation of Tom Nook reenacting the scene from American Psycho, with the rain poncho to keep the blood off his clothes, and I feel like that vibe fits him very well. XD
Omg this is amazing, North of the Border also makes similar dioramas and they are the funniest since they're unsuspecting games/Movies and they get really dark 😅🤣
I just found your channel today and I've been binging all your videos (I know this one's a year old) but PLEASE tell me how you got these guys so smooth?? Looks so so good
When I sculpt with white clay I find I can get away with many imperfections before I paint cause I end up sanding the absolute bejeebus out of them before I paint! Sanding is my best friend
Hello Official Friend TM, the clay I use is Original Sculpey! I use it because it's the cheapest lmaooo and it's super soft so it holds fingerprints easily but it's great if you have the time to sand it smooth! Happy Halloween Bread Bush!
Just subscribed ! I love cute but gore art haha. but I wanted to know what was the purpose of baking Nook a few times while sculpting it ? Instead of sculpting everything and then baking it once ?
I’m so glad you enjoyed!! I mostly do it to save my progress in a way, especially when I’m sanding, it’s easier to sand certain areas before I add more details on top of them rather than having to sand around the details, if that makes any sense!
Could you tell us how you go about sanding down your sculptures before painting? Do you wet sand? And what kind of sanding tool do you use? Seems like a sponge of some sort
99% of the time I just use my hands and plain old sandpaper and go from rougher grits up to finer grits! I haven’t done wet sanding before persay, I will sometimes wipe away the clay dust with a wet paper towel though so I don’t get clown lung or something LMAO
@@CrossingCrafts what specific grits do you use? Do you have a link where I could get them? (currently working on a piece im planning on documenting on youtube as well)
@somesortofweeb9891 Here’s a good deal on a variety pack, really any will do but this is a good example: a.co/d/bnkJMRM Depending on how much sanding it needs, I usually go from 400 grit or 600 grit up to like 1000, I’m not super religious with it or anything and most times I’ll skip steps because I’m impatient lmaooo, whenever you finish you should link me your video so I can watch it!! Good luck!
Also Real constructive criticism/friendly advice: superglue is not a great long term solution to glue stuff that you paint, as it does eat the paint. But you already have uv resin at your disposal, why do you even own superglue? (Other paint-friendly glue options you should give a try are e6000 and Gütermann, basically look for glues that are designed for fabric or metal, those would probably be your best options)
It’s totally safe! Plus when you bake your sculpture it’ll usually be at a low temp so there isn’t any risk of a fire or explosion or anything lol! Good luck!!! You should post an update to my subreddit when you finish it!
Actually it’s wayyy simpler than you might think lmaooo, I don’t have enough talent to make it from scratch but I remembered Nintendo released this animation in 2019 to announce a teaser for Animal crossing new horizons. I took that footage and used a still frame of the desk to block out the text boxes they put in their video, muted the sound of the video so it just looked like Nook vibing at his desk, got a png of an animal crossing text box and put it over the still frame, downloaded the fonts, then I could type whatever I wanted. I had to add the talking sound effects myself by messing around with Isabelle voice clips and making them deeper. There is literally NO good audio for Tom Nook speaking without some sort of background song or music, only Isabelle, so I had to play around with that. I found some spooky music to change the vibe (frantic factory from donkey kong) and I ended up having to make the animation a bit longer, to do that I just found a good moment to end it and then added another clip of him moving around from that exact moment only in reverse, it looks natural because he’s kinda just moving around his desk so I’m thankful for that. To do the eye blinks looking around at the first few seconds I just applied a blur, used two black wallpaper jpegs to act as the eyelids and moved them around, and then added a camera shake effect and adjusted it until I was pleased. I use the free version of Davinci Resolve, so I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. The intro was in my head like an entire month before I started on the video LOL, hope you’re doing well Zavell and hope you had a happy Halloween!
The only time it ever gets this smooth is cause I sand it after I bake it lmaoooo, sadly I really have gotten into colored clay which I cannot sand without ruining Currently, the best things I've found for smoothing colored clay is, before you bake it, 99% acetone for deep gashes/fingernail indents (this basically melts a thin layer of clay off) and for most other imperfections (including dust, fingerprints, etc) isopropyl alcohol!
This is a little too on the nose for my liking and a little psychopathic... It would have been better if the tragity was Implied instead of overt like this because it could make people sick looking at it... 🤮
