- Tesla FSD 12.5.1.3 drove my parents and I have an hour to dinner. This was the first time my Dad and Mom saw the latest version, and they give their thoughts on how the software is doing.

Did you guys catch that? This is absolutely a new era, a new chapter. Up to the 2 minute mark the car was doing it's thing, en route to their destination, while the occupants were engaged in a completely different topic about an online feature while casually looking out the window at their surroundings. Not a care in the world about the Jetson like situation they were experiencing. Congratulations to the self driving team and Elon Musk.

A a road biker I am so, so impressed at how well FSD respects bikers. I am pretty sure that one-day all vehicles will be self-driving and road injuries will plummet.

@Omar - I know you are a massive fan of FSD (and so am I), but your routes are often on quite light traffic. Take us through normal/heavy traffic and over routes with speed bumps and see if you are still able to say 'no interventions' by the end of the drive. Also you'll notice the car's interpretation of what speed to drive is not really compatible with other drivers on the road.
In other words... Get your Cybertruck out of my garage. I cannot believe you treat your precious mother in such a detached manner, O! 😊

Does America have a rule "Keep right unless overtaking or making a left turn"? The fact that FSD handles those crazy 4 way stop signs is amazing. I know they threw me for a six when I was driving over there. (Sorry Six is a very long hit in cricket similar to hit it out of the ballpark)

Omar, have you tried this version in Santa Monica turning left on to Colorado Avenue off a North-bound numbered street to see if it stays off the Metro tracks? I remember your intervention on an older version a few months back.

Possible approval in Europe at end of 2024, it will be a different version than the one in US and Canada though.
It's a place to start though, even if hands are required to be on the wheel basically all the time, as long as it's FSD its a step forward, lets see what happens, it's exciting times, UNECE commission in EU are becoming more positive about FSD, let's see if it gets delayed further.
Tesla also need to present an EU version of FSD with success and all the documentation needed, to convince them properly.
I'm quite sure Tesla is prepared for this though, 450 million people in EU, its a big market :>

Had some weird moments today on v12.5.1.3. Seems back to not knowing what to do with yellow. 3 times it either couldn’t decide if it wanted to stop or go or stabbing the brake pedal. Another issue short on ramp would not merge and ended up having to exit although room. Still going too slow in general and speed limits all wrong
5:18 the slowing to 25mph applied only for trucks, so it correctly disregarded it!

Supposedly, Tesla specially trains FSD for optimal performance in areas where influencers do their driving. Their videos certainly don’t comport with my experience with FSD.
What confuses me is how you can drive over the speed limit? Isn't that illegal? that would never pass in the uk, the limit here is the limit, just 5mph over and you get a speeding ticket 🤣

You can set that up in the settings - in the US in most places you can drive 5-10 miles over without issue

unfortunately filming in such rich area with such infrastructures and low density is not very interesting to demonstrate the capabilities of FSD. watched some video in NY and there FSD is much more challenged with a lot of interventions 🤔

You didn’t drive in the middle lane of PCH. You did not ever change a 6:56 lane on PCH. That’s not a real test drive, that’s showing an ideal drive with no FSD challenges. Stop sugarcoating FSD; Show what needs to be improved.
