Long story short, I told him to pay for the new survey, lawyer fees and the land, total of $6,000, well he said we will go to court, well the judge ruled in my favor, it cost him $86,000 ! His attorney warned him just to pay the $6,000 and be done with it, some idiots don’t learn !!!

Take your time when looking to buy a house, never buy one with a shared driveway. Buy one that has privacy fence or put up one as soon as you move in, it doesnt matter if they wanna share the cost or not, its for your own benefits. I bought mine already fenced but its too low, about 5 feet only, I'm not comfortable going out to my backyard them seeing me or seeing them first thing everytime. So I decided to build a new one much higher even shouldering all the cost. No regrets! Now Im happy and have a privacy and get along with my neighbors (left and right side) except the one next to the one on my left, heis snob rude and slob, throwing his thrashes next to my garage and all over the place everytime he drives by, good thing hes not next to me!
If she can't open her car door, maybe park it further to the left? You are over the center line as it is. It's not your neighbor's fault that you have too much junk in your backyard.
I wish I had the right to build a fence like this. My neighbors would do drug deals in my yard, look in my windows, and stare into my cameras. I called the police so many times. The one guy was out of prison for burglary and went back to prison for the same crime. I moved into the house wanting to have peace of mind, but now all I do is advocate against emboldening criminals and druggies. More jailtime for harmful crimes, no more slaps on the wrist, and death penalty for drug dealing
She has NO ROOM for boat storage. His right to enter and exit with an auto to get to work, far outweighs her right to have a boat at home. I was in a "shared drive" situation just like that. Come to find out, when I sold that house, the other person using my driveway had zero rights to use it. She was renting and the house she was renting had been built in the era of horse and buggy so had no garage as my home did. It went to mediation when the closing on my house transpired, and she had to beg me to sign a waiver for her to be able to drive her car to the back of her rental property. I just sold and moved to the country. No more city life for me. I lived there two years and it was 2 years too long.
Lived in metuchen NJ had tight lots. Some homes were on their sides. Ok.. Got a permit to put in a fence so my motorcycle would not get stolen.. a foot in from property lines.. My neighbor yelled at me for that.. Stated how am I gonna get around the side of my home??? So he uses my property to easily move around his???? Then his gutters were drained on my property.. I just loved telling him to remove that now.. I had to re do my drains.. Flooding and all.. water to the street.. and my lines were not able to accommodate his and mine.. So i just plugged it up..finished my water lines.. He was not a nice person.. If he was id help out..

I lived in a House with a shared driveway as a Kid. It's a problem.....Especially when the neighbor has visitors.
Call hoarders on her
The one complaining is the who started it
I have seen it too many times
Dumb vs smart guess who wins
How do I get my crap out of the back of my junkyard? That’s my biggest fear...
I am SO happy to be living deep in the country, with no nearby neighbour!
I have a large intentionally ugly fence built along one side of my front yard. My neighbors yard is full of junk and is a total eye sore and I don’t want to see it when I walk out my front door. If you want the fence taken down agree to take all the crap out of your yard he doesn’t want to look at
My neighbor w/5ac was insanely jealous of our 15ac so he moved fences, threatened to kill me, killed our animals, vandalized & burglarized our property, said he wanted more money and more land for free, constantly stole from us, which all went on for over 10yrs until 2 of them were shot/killed. Trash is trash.
Why an ugly fence that you have to look at too?
Lemme get this straight… You claim that you paid to build a fence that you think is ugly, and it sits on your property where you have to look at it, and you think you’re punishing a neighbor? Do you think a neighbor who has a yard filled with junk is losing sleep over the look of your brand new ugly fence?
@@mikesteele05 I don't think these posters are playing with a full deck
@@mikesteele05 it's only really ugly on their side. And I don't care what it looks like either, it was built the cheapest fastest way possible 3 years ago
Looks like the old guy who put up the fence passed away shortly after this. Sometime in 2018. Google earth today and the fence is gone.
I had a neighbor widen their driveway on to my land, he told me to screw myself, well at 6 AM the fence company came to install the fence, he called the police, the police said the court order was good and the fence company installed the fence, he couldn’t get his car out and had to hire a crane to lift it out to the street.
If you value your possessions, Put them in storage or build a bigger garage in the back yard.
Can't blame the neighbor not wanting to look at her junkyard. And she's worried about the fence bringing down the value of her home is ridiculous. Sounds like she's the neighbor from hell.
When you going to buy some water for that boat?
The HORDER complaining to the city about a fence so her neighbor doesnt have to look at it. If I were her neighbor I would have complained to the city about her junk in the yard.
Alternative title. Two people come to the realisation that they don't own enough land to have a driveway.
Paul Beam is the best weatherman, he accurately reports the weather consistently and is very entertaining.
If she can't open her car door, maybe park it further to the left? You are over the center line as it is. It's not your neighbor's fault that you have too much junk in your backyard.
Let's hear it for that badass bronco.
Looks like she has a junk yard going on there. I would put a fence up also
Never buy a house with driveways next to each other
when I buy a house I'm making sure everyone around me has junk cars/trailers on their lawns. I wanna be with my own people.
I'd also put up a fence to block my view of that junk yard.
How many cars does she need. It like a junk yard, I don’t blame him.
Not anyone’s business
I wish I had the right to build a fence like this. My neighbors would do drug deals in my yard, look in my windows, and stare into my cameras. I called the police so many times. The one guy was out of prison for burglary and went back to prison for the same crime. I moved into the house wanting to have peace of mind, but now all I do is advocate against emboldening criminals and druggies. More jailtime for harmful crimes, no more slaps on the wrist, and death penalty for drug dealing
I am confused. Why would a lawful fence cause an obstruction? Was she used to going on her neighbor's property to get in and out of her property?
People are so stupid not to work things out. The woman should be fined each day for disorderly premises.
Never buy a property that has "shared" stuff.
It is more than reasonable to want to block out the ugly junk yard next door.
These are the kinds of continuing irritation which leads to neighbor disappearing in the night.
Live in the city this is what happens! They new this when they bought the house.
As long as you have the city permit to build anything in your OWN property....you can win any case.
Muh neighbors fence is stopping me from moving my 48 cars and three boats...
It's a Right-Of-Way problem!
That is not a shared drive way but two sidewalks.
Who wants to see a junk yard for a next door neighbor clean your yard and people wouldn't need to cover all that junk with a fence
she probably has mosquitos in standing water and rats in her yard.
I would be perfectly fine living next to that . I’d mind my business and I wouldn’t be a nosy prick
Never EVER buy a house that shares a driveway with another house.
You would think someplace in the deed it would state that it's a shared driveway and the does and don't of fence etc would be stated.
Sounds like a personal problem to me! It’s the other persons property and if he wants to fence it in he’s allowed to, she shouldn’t had assumed he never was going to do so.
As soon as the showed all the Cr*p in her backyard - She just lost ALL support from reasonable and decent people. I am surprised the city hasn't forced her to clean up that yard and get rid of all those vehicles/boats. Clearly the city needs to get some reasonable restrictions in place to stop her sort of behavior. SHE's the one ruining the value of her and her neighbors homes. That fence only make it clear that her yard is a problem.
Looks like the lady has a bunch of stuff in her backyard. The guy said he doesn't want to see all the stuff. I don't blame him. I wouldn't want to look at a junkyard in my neighbors backyard on a daily basis.
It’s simple, don’t fill your yard like junked car Tetris
There is a reason that I only own 1 bed. Simply because 1 bed is all that would fit in my room, kinda just common sense :)
It isn't the neighbor's fault for building a fence on HIS own property that she can't remove her cars/boats in there anymore.
Literally it's her problem, maybe she shouldn't be having a junkyard for a backyard.
