Ganpatipule is a small town located 25kms north of the city of Ratnagiri in Ratnagiri district.
Let me share the travel experience of Ganpatipule.
WHEN TO GO?
Best time to go is October to March.
But we went in August (on Ganesh Chathurthi) and it was raining at that time, but still we enjoyed a lot and there was greenery all around.
HOW TO GO?
We started our journey from Pune in a sleeper volvo bus at 10-10:30PM(Pune to Ganpatipule is nearly 336Kms) and reached Ganpatipule at around 8AM next morning. You can also travel by train and the nearest railway station is Ratnagiri (distance from Ratnagiri to Ganpatipule is 25Kms).
It costed us around 13K for 2 persons including everything mentioned in the below itinerary along with the to and fro bus tickets from Pune to Ganpatipule, the food and the sightseeing travel.
WHERE TO STAY?
We stayed there at Abhishek beach resort and spa (1 night). It is a very nice resort. The rooms are good and you can have a sea view from the room itself. I would suggest you to stay here as the ambience of the resort is very good.
Here goes the Itinerary
Day 1
We reached the resort (take an auto from the bus stand) and after having our breakfast, we booked a cab arranged by the hotel (you can also hire a auto for the sightseeing that would cost you a bit less than the cab) and we went to see the Jaigad fort and lighthouse, Jai Vinayak temple, etc.
After returning back we had our lunch and went to see the Ganpatipule Temple and the Ganpatiplue beach which is located at 2kms from the resort.
We also had a camel ride in the beach. It was fun.
Day 2
Next day you can hire an auto to visit the local sightseeing like prachin konkan museum, magic garden, Are warey beach and Bhandarpule beach. Nice places to visit.
Our bus from Ganpatipule to Pune was at 5-5:30PM in the evening.
