Exploring Sikkim - Pelling Yuksum & Ravangla 🏔️ | Travel Guide & Itinerary

🗻 Pelling, a beautiful town in the West district of Sikkim, has become the second biggest tourist destination in Sikkim after Gangtok. Located 10 km from Geyzing and 130 km from Gangtok, the main attraction of the place is the breathtaking sight of the Khangchendzonga.
Ravangla is a small tourist town, near Namchi city in the Namchi district.
The Buddha Park of Ravangla, also known as Tathagata Tsal, is situated near Rabong (Ravangla) in South Sikkim district, Sikkim, India.
While exploring the beauty of Sikkim from Pelling to Ravangla we halted at Yuksum or Yuksom.
👉Best time to Visit
The best time to visit is from October to May. Winter season and the onset of summers is the most favorable time to travel and ideal for exploring the beauty of Sikkim.
👉How to Reach
►By Air: The nearest airport is Pakyong Airport, with very limited flights. So the best way to come by air would be Bagdogra Airport is around 140 km away and would take approximately 5hours if opting for private car. The car fare from Bagdogra Airport to Pelling normally ranges from ₹ 4,500 to ₹ 5,500 for a one-way trip.
►By Train: The nearest railway station is NJP (New Jalpaiguri) Railway Station. The distance from NJP station to Pelling is 140 Km and would take 5hours if opting for private car.
►By Road: If you are coming from Kolkata then you can board a luxury bus from Esplanade Bus Stand and reach Siliguri (Tenzing Norgay Central Bus Terminus). The journey typically takes around 12 to 15 hours, depending on the bus type and road conditions.

►Pelling - We stayed at Hotel Garuda (3 nights - Rs.7500 (Rs.2500/night with complimentary breakfast)) with mountain view room with a clear view of Mt. Kanchenjunga.

►Yuksum: We stayed at Chungda Hidden Homestay for 1 night. Located close to the Goechala trek starting point.

We stayed here for 1 night and it costed us Rs.2400 including evening snacks, dinner and breakfast.
►Ravangla: We stayed here at Buddha Park Residency for 1 night which costed us around Rs.4830 including complimentary breakfast.

👉Here goes the detailed Itinerary
►Day1:
We reached NJP at 8:30AM and boarded our cab (which I had already booked) and started our trip to Pelling via Namchi Char Dham. We reached Namchi Char Dham by 12:30PM to 1PM. The distance of NJP station to Namchi Char Dham is about 104Km which took us approximately 3 and half hours. The distance of Namchi Char Dham to Hotel Garuda is about 66Km which took us approximately 2 and half hours. We reached our hotel by 5PM.
►Day2:
Next morning after having our breakfast we headed for exploring the beauty of Sikkim to Changey Waterfalls which is 9Km away from the hotel and took 15mins to reach. After that we went to visit the Singshore bridge which is 12Km from Changey waterfall and took about 30mins.
►Day3:
Next morning after completing our breakfast we again started exploring the beauty of Sikkim and headed towards our first destination, Skywalk which features a large statue of Chenrezig. The Sangacholing Monastery is near to the skywalk. Our next destination was Pemayangtse monastery. Next we headed towards our last destination for exploring the beauty of Sikkim, Rabdentse ruins which also has a bird sanctuary (Sidkeong Tulku Bird Park).
►Day4:
Next morning after completing our breakfast, we started our journey towards Yuksum for exploring the beauty of Sikkim. On the way we visited the Darap Cherry Village, Rimbi Waterfall, Rimbi Orange Garden, Khecheopalri lake, Kanchenjunga falls.
►Day5:
For exploring the beauty of Sikkim next day early morning at about 7AM we went out for the small trek (from where the Goechela trekking starts) with the guide with whom we had contacted the previous evening.
After having our breakfast we headed our way to Ravangla. On the way we first visited Dubdi monastery , next we went to Norbugang Park coronation throne and kathok lake . Next on the way to Ravangla you can also visit the Bon Monastery.
►Day6:
Early morning Finally we had our breakfast, taking a last look at the scenic surroundings before checking out.
After completing the formalities, we headed towards NJP station which was a travel of about 130Km and took 4-5hrs depending on the traffic. On the way to the station we visited the Temi tea garden.
