I swapped to 45 & 15 on my sprockets. I am good for a street AND trail bike. Still running full knobby tires and 65mph on black- top is chancey at best. The HAWK is a good street/trail bike! It doesn't climb trees but it pulls very well!
Now amazon has the Xpro (Zuma) 250 ( actually 249cc unlike the hawk 230cc and TBR7)... the frame on the new 2024 Xpro are amazing. Better engine and all... On my TBR7 2022 i put an oil cooler, iridium spark plug, sprocket change, exhaust, intake, rejetted carb... 70mph no problem i weight 150lbs. Street friendlier tires and was even smoother
Yeah, I've been looking into porting the head or at least getting at the exaust port with some emery cloth. If that happens I'll do another top speed run. Thanks for watching!
There is no 350cc bbk for this engine. 72mm is largest. Making it an actual 249.9cc. There just isn't enough engine case material for a wider bore and more stroke won't add up enough to get you to 350. The 250cc kit calls itself a "cg300", but that too is wrong.
I've done an exhaust (crf230 one from amazon), nibbi Pe28 carb w/pod filter, ngk iridum plug, nibbi coil, some 50/50 tires (shinko 705), and 16t front/ 40t rear gears (33% increase over stock 15/50, 17/45 is less at 26%). By google maps gps, does 75, once hit 80 maybe due to the wind behind me and drafting a car in the highway. Also running an oil cooler and head temp gauge to keep an eye on it. And that's not even the furthest you can go. I've got (but haven't installed) a big bore kit (takes it up to an actual 250cc), ported head, cam, and roller rockers. Just looking for some better valve springs. Also going to replace clutch and upgrade the clutch springs. Biggest performance mod might be the rider though, I'm short and weigh only 120lbs.
I got a hawk all I’ve done is a Nibbi carb and air intake and she does 75 on small downhills. That’s on knobbies too. But it’s bogging real bad in top end
63 is still in the range of max top speed for a good running bug stock to mostly stock carbd hawk with stock sprockets. Having done pretty much all the cg engine upgrades available, full clear exhaust, massively ported and polished head, shaved 0.5 to 1mm with a metal shim head gasket and a 28-30mm carb with proper jetting will be your biggest power adders. The WGK long duration cam will help mee it breathing in higher rpm if that is something you need too. Personal, the Hawk platform isn't good for both a high speed highway capable bike AND a trails and offroad bike. I'd pick a use case that fits what 50%+ of your riding is and build it to that purpose. I see you have klr650 vids... Hawks a fun tinkering thing, bug when you've got a KLR in the barn, it's practical uses dwindle in the shadow of the KLR. Even given the Kawi's weight.
I tend to tinker more with the Hawk instead of messing up the Kawi. My son is getting big enough to ride and is doing great on the hawk. The heavy KLR can be intimidating for a new rider. Thanks for watching!
@@thomaspayne4507 In the video the guy says don't buy it because it's a bad bike, definitely not a Honda. YEAH, that's obvious. Not a Honda. And it's a third the price of a comparable Honda on a good day. I don't know WTF is wrong with you. I've been buying China bikes since 2018. How about you?

Yeah I’m gonna try to buy another set of the stoke knobby Chinese tires. Thanks for watching!
i had a blast on my hawk!

Yes! I've heard of the Zuma. I want one, but I've got too many toys right now. I'll get the Hawk to 70 mph one day. Thanks for watching!
The Hawk is fun asf to joy ride I depended on it as a daily driver it failed miserably
hahaha, yeah don't depend on it to get you to work every day, but I love the hawk on the road.
@@TheStandOutdoors I haven’t put any mods on it yet I hear its more reliable with upgraded parts im thinking about adding it the bike looks cool
350cc big bore kit.. 292 duration cam, ported head.. theres plenty that can be done to make the hawk faster.

You're right. Fun bike but worth the extra $ to get one from Japan
@@TheStandOutdoorsDefinitely port the head and do a cam. PLEASE!!!!

Hahaha yeah. My 12 year old son is learning to ride and the hawk is perfect for it. Thanks for watching!
Love that build man! Best looking Hawk I’ve seen by far!
Thank you!
Lmfao, love the way you desxribed the bike "shit fallin off, it aint no honda" 😂😂
Edit: im a proud hawk 250 owner myself ha
Awesome! I haven’t been on the hawk in a while. Staying on the KLR mostly. Now I want to make a vid terrorizing the neighborhood on the Hawk!

Not a honda but i loveeeeee it , great job mate
Thank you thanks for watching!
I have a raven 2023. Will peg out at 85 mph. I weigh 145lbs.
Nice! I had to google the Raven. Looks to be the same as the Hawk.

What holds those exhaust wraps together?hose clips?
Yes, hose clamps
It costs 1/3, or less than a Honda. So no, it's not a Honda.
Yeah, may not last as long as a Honda, but you get a ton of fun for the $. Thanks for watching 🙂
Oh my, it's not a honda¿¿¿¿
🤣😂🤣😂
It's a xpro hawk
