Great reminder about 2 cycle closed systems.
Could you possibly do a video on adjusting valves on a Kawasaki? And let us know how often this must be done. Thanks
Great video ! I find that test to be also critical on 2-stoke outboards where you often find slightly leaking top or lower crankcase seals. Those engines will start (after a lot of cranking) but won't run great. Tell tale signs are for that bad top seal to leave an oily/sooty trace under the flywheel while a bad bottom seal will have a large fuel film floating on water around the engine's leg. Severely leaking seals will let the fuel charge to entirely escape through the crankcase and let spark plugs dry. Regards !
Please keep posting vids on this saw??? I'd absolutely love to see this monster running. I know the Mower Medic can get it running and cutting like the day it was bought.
That second hole does not require a Welch plug. I used to work on those back in the day down in Florida. I mean, I would have probably 60 or 80 of those on my bench.
This is going to be a cool piece to see running once you complete all the repairs on it..👍👍
Right about checking P&V through the spark plug hole; pressure and vacuum equalizes down the cylinder walls and ring gaps. Better to do the vac check first. Seals are most likely to show leakage under vacuum when the sealing edge wants to pull away from the crank. If you pressure test first, the sealing edge is snugged up against the crank along with any surrounding oil. This may mask a small leak when the vac test is done. Usually not, but can happen. I like to turn the crank a revolution or two to make sure the needle comes back to the starting point. Sometimes this can expose a leak that might not otherwise be found. The P&V test is essential to any saw evaluation, and skipping it may lead to failure to find a cause for running issues. Thanks for emphasizing this often neglected step.
Jeremy gives his Seal 🦭 of Approval! Thank you Sir!
Great to see your videos coming out again. Have appreciated your tips for a long while.
What a fantastic saw sir thanks for the tip !
Good morning 😊. It’s heavy and it works great 😊
I need to learn how to do this!
Good video mate ... What a lovely saw
Thanks mick ol bean
Where did you find pants for them ?? Father in law left two in shop and I’ve used them in early 80
Interesting video.
Nice saw old school Texas chainsaw massacre
Ive got a Stihl FX100R trimmer that wont hold idle worth a damn. I have adjusted the carb a few times, but i feel like I just keep chasing the adjustments around. Could that be a possible sign of a crankcase seal leak? Thanks Jeremy!
Absolutely
Are the rubber stops just old cut up inner tube Jeremy?
Anything any kind of gasket material or rubber that’s at least an 8th inch dick
What are your rough deamidations for these tapered rubber blocking strips , I would like to make some width at the top , length , width at the bottom . Thank you .
You forgot more than some will ever know.
I need a can of refried beans. I forgot to buy them. Maybe I should fix something else since we just had pizza.
Jeremy, great to see you making videos again! This is a really nice classic saw!
