That is actually the best design for an amphibious vehicle I have ever seen. Putting the wheels outside of the body of the boat simplifies everything. Well done!
coming out awesome but i am concerned about all the weight being on one side. should really put the helm opposite the engine so you are not listing in the water.
As small as the shop looks it’s probably even smaller in reality due to the fisheye effect lol Couldn’t agree more about the quality of video, great content as always Man!!
It's the Family Guy boat! It reminds me of that episode where they could get a boat or the mystery box, Peter chose the mystery box and ended up with a time share (I think?) while everyone else got boats and they're all driving around town in their new boats, just boating it up. Really nifty design! Thanks for documenting the build :D
"You Rock Dude"!!! I've always wanted to put a 500 Yamaha TT engine on a zero turn Hustler mower. And race it in the Red Neck Rodeo of State Fair and Genesee county Fair Michigan. Why the hustler, because they are the lowest of all zero turns and I used one where I used to work. Stock they are hands down the fastest zero turn mowers and the easiest to operate. And the walk behind Hustler trimstar are Top Notch Too
@@DktheWelder 2:45 I've been welding for a long time but have never seen a sick rod in a TIG torch! You can just do that? I have a TIG welder and always wanted to modify it to do stick but can I really just jam a stick in there and reverse the polarity or is there something more to it?
@@ifabforfun haha , most arc rods can run positive earth fine , it actually works better than a normal hand piece as you get the high frequency start and you can use the downslope which is good for welding gaps 👍

that lever mechanism to raise and lower the front wheel is brilliant! honestly the build of it would be a good contribution to the world. many makers like myself have uses for mechanisms like this, and although measurements will vary depending on use case / scale... the basics and considerations to make it work are invaluable. for now ill just pause the video and try to guess reverse engineer what you did. keep up the good work man.
Feels like Florida and Australia were once apart of each other cause Aussies and Floridians have the same creative minds. As a Floridian this is peak transportation.
you should think about putting a quickener on the steering box alot of dirt track cars here stateside use them ... its an inline 2:1 box that increases the steering rate so youll have to work the wheel alot less to get a decent driving feel out of it without chasing the wheel as much otherwise cool build man!
Question. Why not twist the steering gear and shorten the shaft a little? Seems like it should fix the binding. Maybe not, but it seems like it would. Awesome build idea!

For reverse you could maybe make something like Honda Goldwing by spinning the starter motor the other way while in gear, BMW also did that with the K1600GT
O is that how they work? I don’t think that will work for this . Once I hooked up a starter backwards on one of these motors and it just free spins as there must be a one way clutch
My friend God Rest his Soul. Made a half track cycle like the one in Saving Private Ryan. Then he made a collapsible ice shanty around it. It was featured in Michigan outdoors
I just had a look at your channel, what a cool machine! Also pretty fast on the water for having non retractable wheels . Does it have a jet pump ? I will watch the build videos later
Thanks, yes I started off with a homemade prop, then found a proper prop but was getting way too much cavitation, now it's got a jet pump and it's so much better! Its still far too slow in the water though,I wish I had built the whole thing with retractable wheels like you have though! You never know I might build a new one lol
It's satisfying to see you went with my idea to steer it, and took it to the next level. I fear though that having your bodyweight and the engine on the same side of the boat might make it list a little in the water. You may need to make it right hand drive.
I literally laughed out loud at the exhaust tube being about 3" off. Good thing you have the good old straightening tree! I can't believe it's really been that long since you've worked on this. It sounds like it's gonna be FaF. Stop welding sockets to everything, you heathen
It is the contrast of those pretty 3D printed parts and everything else welded or beaten into submission makes me laugh. Must be running out of sockets.
So cool, so dodgy and yet so awesome. :) Any chance you can tie the jet steering into the wheel? Apart from the crazy dirt bike front end, the whole thing is looking pretty slick. :)

To be fair, it has its issues but it’s absolutely easier to access and declare issues, especially use up less space in the hull with!
its good to revisit old projects with new knowledge every now and then
I believe this about my wife.

It's nice when shit still runs after sitting for a minute. Great retrofitting!
It did start reasonably easy , but there is also a lot happening off camera to get it running which is too boring to film

gotta say your editing style is great. awesome video. thank you, I really enjoyed watching.
love ur edditing, your video cuts, you make it realy fun to watch XD and u have realy nice ideas to bild stuff

I remeber this boat, It's looking much better now with this new steering set up. Amphibians are fun, it's what drew me to Argos

That does sound awesome but can the pump take that much power? I had an xt600 cool motor but so hard to start
I've said it before and I'll say it again nobody makes anything cooler in a smaller shop than you has to be the smallest shop on UA-cam
