    finally someone that not sugar coat it to death, very good review, i was thinking the i70 which have a pocket to put speakers but i don't like that it has 4 start in the sharp test and is basically more expensive.

      I used the c70 with speakers for a good few months. It was OK, but every time I put the helmet on the speakers would move and I used to stick my hand in the helmet to pull them back down. Maybe stronger velcro would have helped. Other than that this helmet really is great for the price! I've still got mine to use as a spare or pilly helmet

    Thanks for the review. I wear an HJC C70 when riding and it is so comfortable - a tight snug fit, to the point I don't realise I'm wearing it! I would highly recommend it.

    This helmet fitted so well! Went still with the shoei gt air2 but second choice would be this one..

      Shoei helmets are supposed to be really nice! How do you find it?

    • @ADDONRACER
      @ADDONRACER 3 роки тому

      @@ayserides it fits so good, except you have to adjust the visor so that it closes evenly on both sides and prevent wind noise. You would not expect it from such a premium helmet. But the design and all looks so cool, it matches my bike tho.

    Don't know what you are talking about but the C70 actually does have speaker cutouts.

    • @ayserides
      @ayserides  2 місяці тому

      @joscornelissen5626 maybe a newer model does? I have mine in my hand right now and there are definitely no speaker cutouts

    Can you expand a little on "approved for track use" ? What certification exactly makes it so? Are there helmets that are street legal but cannot be used for motorsports?

    • @ayserides
      @ayserides  2 роки тому

      Sure! Good question. It's the gold sticker on the back showing the ACU certification. If you want to do a track day you'll need a helmet with this sticker. There are some helmets that don't have this certification, so they wouldn't pass a track day inspection

    • @waitwat1142
      @waitwat1142 2 роки тому

      @@ayserides Thank you for replying! As I understand it, the ACU is a British motorsport organisation. So the same C70 helmet bought outside of the UK wouldn't have the sticker. Do you know where this qualification is based though? in the US, any ECE R22-05 can enter track, but not DOT (the basic street legal certification) Do you know of any ECE R helmets that don't make the cut in the UK? If that's the case, the UK seems much stricter on motorsports safety.

    • @ayserides
      @ayserides  2 роки тому +1

      From what I can see, most helmets that have the ECE standard will also have the ACU one. I can't say I've really seen any with one but not the other certification in the UK at least

    Hello, HJC C70 or AIROH VALOR? Which is safer and more comfortable?

    • @ayserides
      @ayserides  2 роки тому

      Both have 5 stars on the SHARP test so they're both pretty safe. I haven't tried the Airoch so not sure about comfort. Best to try both on if you can

    For some reason here in Canada it's not being labelled with an ECE rating

    • @ayserides
      @ayserides  2 роки тому

      ECE is a European rating I think, maybe the international models don't have that rating

    Good review and good call on the earplugs, I've heard they are a good idea, especially if you're young enough to worry about hearing loss in the future. :D
    I have a big head, so I'm sure my helmet (Arai Rapide Neo) looks quite comical, but it's comfortable. I was worried the first few times I tried it on before my first lesson. I wore it for about 20 minutes each day for about a week and it fits just fine now. I'm glad I went to a shop, rather than ordering online for my first helmet. I have earlobes that stick out and are quite sensitive, so I wear a little 'cowl' to protect them when I take the helmet off. :D Luckily, I have no hair to worry about.
    Enjoy that weather!
    Off topic, but is that a fig tree in your garden at the beginning?

    • @ayserides
      @ayserides  3 роки тому +1

      Earplugs are so good, I highly recommend them!
      Yup, going to a shop for your first helmet is a great idea. It should fit super tight at the start, and then break in over time. After a couple of weeks it will feel super comfy
      And it is indeed a fig tree! Every now and then you get some decent figs off of it haha
      Safe riding!
