Great video. When kids were kids, learnt to make things, fix things and problem solve. It's all on a screen whether it be phone, iPad or tv now....sad world. Also when Dads had extra fingers!
A nice bit of editing and black and white effects applied to the Hornby Dublo section inserted into this footage - just noticed a few "neverwazzas" and some late on items from the early 1960's.
Very nice Clive I hope when you were doing your ad you had your pipe out. Sadly the bird in the add sound much more cure than you. Loved the video some memories there. Love the box art work Dad playing with the trains, where was his daughter I wonder, no doubt playing with dolls or skipping outside. As for mum in the kitchen How ever crude HD is today it was proudly made in England and not the lesser part of Asia and still works and works well. Even though HD was three rail it held its own fascination and still does. They started to produce some food stuff at the end, the Southern EMU was very smart, pity it only had printed sides

Well spotted with the fingers.
Pure magic - Hornby Dublo certainly had charm.
Love old film footage like this, a magical time for kids.

Great stuff!
Really nice advertising. Especially with a dad who has 11 fingers, haha.
Notice the dad in the poster at 2.54 who has an extra finger on his hand!
Love it

I know which Christmas I prefer and it doesn’t include a John Lewis Advert. Brilliant..........Cheers Pete
