Very useful practical advice from an acknowledged Hornby Dublo expert.

Great video. The secret to success whether it be with modern Kadees or vintage Dublo couplers, is to check and reset couplers on a regular basis. Reliable operation comes from looking after the equipment. Same for wheelsets. Hey... just like real railways. I always preferred dublo couplers over the bigger and uglier hornby triang ones. I love the weight of old Dublo stock, they had heft and momentum, before everything went to all plastic. I loved that heavy steady clunk sound as a long rake of wagons crossed over points.

I much prefer those Hornby Dublo couplings to the later Hornby ones .
I started buying my young son Hornby trains about 8 years ago ( he now has quite a collection ) and have now started recreating the HD train set I had as a young boy in the early 1960s . Now my son won’t leave MY trains alone ; they are so much better constructed , and these couplings work so much better !

Thank you very much. I'm Japanese, but I love OO gauge.
The other day, I got a hornbee double freight car.
And a study to replace the coupling.

Ron excellent video, it gave me the Will to start and adjust the couplings on my wagons and get them to uncouple on the electric uncoupler

Hi Ronald, if I want to access the rivet of a wagon that's covered by the tinplate such as the horse box, do I have to dismantle the wagon top?

What lubricant do you recommend for the wagons? I've got some very squeaky ones!

Hi, I don't have a name but the oil I use comes from model shops already in a pen type applicator. There are special plastic safe oils also.
