Super nice video. You show three options, AND discuss the tradeoffs? Much better than many tutorials that just tell you a series of things to click with no context.
Thanks for the tip on the trim tool, previously I only knew how to make it slide the start/end points inside the video clip duration and not push the next clip over.
Hi @Therizinosaurus! Yes it overwrote it because I had Selection Mode (the arrow in orange) enabled. If I had Trim Edit Mode (the button to the right of the arrow), it would have pushed the next clip to the right.

Thanks for watching, @PrimerBlobs!
Great tip, I love Davinci Resolve, PLEASE do more like this !!!!
Thanks....more Davinci Resolve videos are on the way :)

Glad it was helpful, @smallindie! Yes, those subtle differences in how tools behave for pushing a clip VS overwriting it can be tricky.
Thanks for the wonderful video! You just saved my life as new youtube :) u gained another subscriber!
Thanks @sudobuild, glad it was helpful!
Much better than other methods, Thanks!
Heard your voice, I had to recheck the title to make sure I hadn't clicked on an Affinity Photo video... 🙂
No problem, Ron! Yes, I will be making videos on more things than just Affinity. Stay tuned :)
@@TechnicallyTrent Well, Davinci really needs it, with so many sneaky tidbits hiding all over it. Thanks!
is there a way to speed warp into and out of a freeze frame so it's not so jumpy? great vid.

Did the freeze frame overwrite the next clip on the right side (Austronauts_02) there?

@@TechnicallyTrent Yes that was the key for me!
