I live in baltimore, well in Essex maryland. About 15 minutes away from where the bridge was. Thank you for all of your videos and content on what's going on because I can't always get there.
You keep us all updated and are very well informed. Thank you!
Great the shots with the drone. See a lot of guys walking around but not much progress. Those things that went to the Dali and the crane, were outside toilets. I cannot understand why they are not unloading those good containers. Thanks for your coverage so far. Well done. Greetings from Australia
That huge concrete section is the entire top of the tower that fell on the ship, can't even imagine how much that sucker weighs, it's probably the single biggest obstacle blocking the rest of the cleanup operation.....wow! Your audio was cutting out a LOT from the start of your broadcast, whatever was causing it. There was no buzz or distortion like range problems, sounded more like a connection somewhere was making and breaking.
Missed much of this one but I'm surely lookin forward to the condensed 4k version later Captain Andy!
Stayin tuned! 👍🤠
And Rosedale Maryland says, Hello All!
Another excellent video, once again it was very informative. Thank you for the footage of the USS Gonzales.
Great clean-up progress day-by-day. Your voice communication breaking up a bit ? Pictures are great. Thanks Captain Andy !!
It's interesting to see equipment and a canopy set up on top of debris.
The rectangular pieces removed by weeks533 may be bearing blocks that sat on top of the concrete pillars and had steel girders on them.
The quality of these videos is spectacular!
Glad you like them!
What I love about Capn' Andy's reporting is he lets the viewer have some idea of the scale of the "pieces" that these men and women are working on. I would be willing to be that 99% of the public and a small group of the Minorcan Navy had no idea of the enormity of the structure of the bridge. I would especially include the members of the broadcast media who are better at covering the Kardashians than any sort of real news.
I missed your livestream this morning unfortunately. Had 2 appointments, but catching up now. ❤
Capt. Andy. We are so happy that the Minorcan Navy has stayed on site to follow the fate of the Dali. Your use of drone footage is spectacular. I felt your loss when your first one went into the drink. I have bookmarked most of your presentation along with Jeff Ostroff's work. We look forward tour updates. Fellow drone pilot Bernie Wagner.
I too thought that was old wood form work in the concrete piling; I am retired GC.6-13-2024
Thanks for keeping the air wing active.
Thanks for these historic moments in time . This true reality TV.
Thanks for keeping us updated! Wish I was there for fleet week! PO1 USN Retired
love watching these live streams Dave from the UK.
Thanks
Clear pictures today. Only approx 12 min into it for now. But the picture to me shows " a much neater mess" today.🎉 Going to try and keep watching through the day.
Hello Minorcan Navy!!
It's been very interesting to watch this whole process.
Love the drone footage!
I’m impressed with the break area… they even have fans.
Thanks again Andy for giving us another great time. I checking on a retrieval bouy for rod&reel. U put it a fishing rod & if you lose over the side it will release a bouy that floats to the surface of the water& just pull it up .
I live in the State of Washington, nearly the same weather.
Looks like there's still some girders on the port side just forward of the big blue tarp.
How do you think they cut that box beam (pier)? There wouldn't be access underneath to use a circular saw. I wonder if it's one of those chain cutters, similar in concept to the type that was used to cut up the Concordia.
Thank you for the coverage and commentary.
Would love to own that boat hauling the porta potties. ❤
Thanks for an other Great flight
I love your drone; it does so much so well to be so small; I bet it was an expensive one.6-13-2024
Thank you for your coverage.
Great Footage today, thanks Capt Andy ! 👍 😊
Hi Andy, I'm Late again, ben doing other stuff. I liked that you did a 360 view of the Harbor. Nice! And getting those good details of The Dali and Crane Teams doing their thing. Thanks for showing us the Navy ship. I do have a question this time: Does the Drone's camera work, while it's not flying, Meaning, can you hold the drone and still get some video by moving the drone around with your hand? I will now look at the evening videos. Thanks, Captain. Terry
Yes it sure does
I love your Drone Video. Thank you.
Thank you too!
Do we know how they cut that? I didn’t see any big equipment on the badges or the bow. Did they cut it by hand from a bucket or cherry picker? If so I would fancy doing the under u!
All good Captain! Thank you!
Thanks!
Thanks!!!
Great coverage 🎉🎉🎉. Will watch the recap too!
Great job
Watched the USS Gonzales commissioned at Engelside Texas; namesake a Marine Corp hero from Texas.
great live stream, very informative!
Captain Andy yes the thought but those two pieces that they swung over to the barge were possibly weights known weights that they could use for testing if you noticed they had the weight written on the side
thanx for all the info n video U provide us. I view the Dali cleaning process, safe but slow. Once Dali moves back to Asia, they will have her back in commission in NO time.
I just can't figure the work schedule? A track hoe with a hydraulic breaker attachment would have had the deck clear a week ago. I've not seen any kind of posted work scheduled (plan). No accident/incident review other that "preliminary report" issued by the NTSB. With as many bureaucracies involved I would have thought the paper work would just be flying to the press. What is the repair plan (possible scrapping) for the Dali?
Great video, Thanks.
THANKS ANDY. much more than the Dali today. caroline
I'm just not understanding why they are not loading those containers onto another ship. The stuff in those containers people have been waiting on and they have already had to wait more than a month. It would make sense to get them to their destination. You do a great job of getting us pictures of the work. Thank you.
The containers and cargo within have become property of the P&I Club that insures the Dali when General Average was declared. The total value of the contents will be dedicated to lower the loss of damages to Dali. That cargo can be unloaded as safety requires for travel to the next port for survey. The containers will be stored under security in the lay down area(s) but not moved without a directive. 🇺🇸⚓️
Shipping containers have twist locks on the corners on the bottoms to lock into the stack
The piece @32:55 may be part of the bridge shoe from the cap of the pier. There are 4 pieces that transfer all of the load of the structure to the foundation by what is known as "shoes". There are usually 2 fixed on one end of a span and 2 with rollers to accommodate expansion on the other end.
Looking at the video of the Dali bow, you can't help to think that it was a miracle that none of the crew was seriously injured when this happened.
I'd love to get in there and help out, but my 4.5 inch angle grinder probably is a tad too small.
Looks like it will be several weeks to clear the rest of those massive concrete bridge parts, let alone all of the crushed containers.
despite all the mayhem and damage across the bow, isn't it really odd how some parts of the ship are still in place, look at where the guide lines connected to the right, forward of the newly cut pier leg
love to know what was in all the containers below that pier on the bow, must have been the most forward containers, and how much of it actually survived the crush
did we miss the actual cutting of that pier leg, that would be interesting to know the weight of just that piece
Andy, ever thought of sticking a piece of polystyrene onto the drone, just in case it does take a dive into the ogin, then you can retrieve it
Yes sir they sure did cut that sucker right off their I'm just wondering why they made it so perfectly smooth and cool are they going to reuse it for like a storm drain sarcophagus in the ground
I'd expected to see Resolve working more intensively on the ship and/or debris. They got that half leg done very quickly once they started. It's like with the road deck, it *seemed* to take ages for them to visibly start, then "boom" it's all gone in a few days.
Even allowing for survey, planning, unseen cutting, it still seems very stop-start.
MASSIVE SLABS OF CONCRETE in center of foredeck. Resolve has even put equipment and tools, etc. on top of these slabs. Perhaps they will stay on the ship all the way to Norfolk? The rest is just piece by piece debris removal. Sam, Towson, md
Fantastic detail today.
The hourly cost of the barges and cranes isn't cheap. You think they would be constantly on the move hoisting debre?
Hi Andy. all cranes have left site today at 4pm including 533. Don jon dredger still working. Wonder if Dali going away this weekend? Caroline
Not sure. I saw the 533 pass by. Check out my short
Let's ALL assist in enhancing his UA-cam algorithm, like I'm subscribing, viewing, liking, sharing and commenting from Quakertown, Pennsylvania, USA.
Is there an approx date for the Dali going to Norfolk?
I didn't get to see that piece of concrete removed.
The cut off piece is on the barge. You saw it near the end of the first flight.
The good containers are going to be taken off at a different port.
At the pace things are going, Dali will be where she is for another month at least.
0 activity. Government at work. No wonder Americans are fed up. They'll say things are complicated and so on. Sooner or later we might wake up and clean house and stop this
All summer now that the channel is open. Good time to check containers for bad things.
So weeks marine means that it takes weeks to do anything in the USA. From just wondering from Geoffery in Australia 2371?
.. 32:45 that's the concrete support they cut off from the bow of the Dali yesterday...
There were at least 6+plus of the items you thought were "tanks", or something similar visible at various places. One looked like it was being partially disassembled. Could these be parts of cooling or refrigeration systems from the transportainers? Or fuel system for heaters? They seemed heavy.
I'm not sure what those are. I'm sure someone here from the Minorcan Navy will pipe in with the answer
For reference, does anyone know how thick the walls of that concrete bridge support are? TY
Where is that piece of concrete and how did they cut it and move it off the Dali? Sorry, now iI see you just showed the cut piece of concrete.
Hi Andy that Collum is joined buy that huge slab laying on the bow
Why is the Front of the ship , not cleared as of yet ,
I guess because there's a lot to clear
It is pretty clear at the end of the stream that the tug is there to reposition the barge.
What is the box on the Parker ceiling?
Thanks
Great team effort
Now I understand why the concrete support was rigged the way it was. Maybe they are only going to remove stuff hanging over the sides before moving the ship or this would make a safer load to lift off.
I think they won’t remove much more, and ship it to Norfolk.
To the right of the cut it looks like three containers crushed.
Looks like at least another month to clear the bridge debris off the Dali.
At minute 3. Currently worried you'll be interdicted by the Navy.
weren 't children shipped in those containers - Evergreen - Hillary connection someway?
How much equipment is actually ON the dali. right now?
Wonder why they have not removed the cargo containers?
Apparently there's a better port to unload, keep in mind many or all containers were loaded onto the Dali here for other destinations. I've also heard most containers are empty.
Baltimore port is still messed up, plus why would you bring your container ship to a port or city that will sue you and blame you for any mishap or problem ?
Looks like DJI mini 3 or 4 pro. Great little drone gets into tight spaces well.
It would appear that the top of the centre of bridge cross beam struck the baffle in front of the containers.
There was a container filled with wood. Maybe that's what they're taking off.
while your absence the piece was cut off
why have they not off loaded the undamaged containers?
Apparently there's a better port, keep in mind many or all containers were loaded onto the Dali here for other destinations.
My question is will the Dali go to Norfolk under it's own power.
Un believeable amount of damage. Talk about being smashed. So blessed that no one was up on the bow.
How did they cut that chunk of cement
❤
I had 5 containers in this ship and just waiting to finish
Amazing updates thankyou very much Andy ..
I will be great when the Port of Baltimore is back to full normal ..
So Andy what is the model of the drone you are flying ... is it the same as one that sadly ... fell into the Water ...
why are they not unloading all those containers. While others are trying to take those debris, they can also unload the containers. I dont get it
Another month or so. That concrete is the big problem. I suppose it will have to be broken up into smaller pieces before they can start moving it.
Are they going to remove all containers Off the ship😮
Been watching for an hour & hvnt seen anything moved, just people standing & walking around! By the looks of their productivity going to be there forever! Time is money & probably being paid by the hour!!
Where is the Chesapeake 1000 crane now?
15:00 I'd like to have been able to be doin my business in that port a pot at that very moment. I'm sure I'd could boast to be the first and only one ever to doo it.
👍🤪
to see how containers are secured search Floctus-techniques engineers use to secure massive container ships
How to make a one time donation?
That’s part of the bridge that the have there tent set up on very large piece of concrete
Wonder how many stolen cars are on the Dali ?
