And how it arose from such an idle request. Just his innocent fascination with how the stars looked. Had he just not asked or been denied, things wouldn’t have gone that way, but that’s the benefit of hindsight and gaining wisdom over time
It is truly a tragic feeling. Seth believes that all the turnoil, death, destruction, and all evil that has ever been committed in the world was all his fault. If he hadn’t asked for a star, than the slow corruption of his father and the betrayal of his brothers, along with all the other horrible events would have never happened.
The Crown has been found. Locked away by a group long forgotten, even by its supposed successer. It's existence and meaning in our land remains questionable. A group in little numbers, capable of containing Gods. All as a little department of abnormalities 👁.
There were 5 gods, but the 5th is never talked about, but is described once as being on a mural. It is also heavily hinted that the creator deities were Mechaine and Yaldaboth.
And there’s only more to come, as this is just one portion of the story of the ancient world in the Kactusverse Canon. Next is The Demon Hector and The Dread Titania.
I appreciate that in the middle of this Theogony-level cosmic web of explanation, it goes out of its way to say "Wait, the Arthurian Lancelot?" and then go "Nope, completely different." A humorous swerve I smiled at. Sometimes you need jokes like that in pieces like this.
The Kactusverse is no doubt one of the best and most incredibly written canons in the SCP Universe. The many connections to other SCPs and/or entities, the way it incorporates both religion and mythology into a story of the ancient world and how all life on Earth started, tells stories of prosperity, greed, corruption, betrayal, destruction, and regret, makes this canon one that should definitely be given a read!
I gotta applaud the author for this one. They really know how to make a story that's befitting of the SCPs involved in it: One that's complexly fantastical, and only makes sense if you don't think about it. Just like the SCP Multiverse itself.
This was so well presented it gave me literal goosbumps. Was originally just listening while doing chores around the apartment and ended up sitting still, and just devoting all my attention to this story. Well appreciated break :)

Not gonna lie, that last dialect made my chest tight and my eyes glassy... That was deep. To think, he's been living with this monumental guilt all this time 😢🤗
SCP Explained, I just want to say you make incredibly high quality and easy to understand videos. I personally am more of a visual guy when it comes to stories instead of reading them throughout, and these ones that are part of the kaktusverse I believe (a collection of stories and SCPs created by djkaktus, a famous SCP writer) are so deeply interesting in it's ancient civilization scenery. I hope you make this a series explaining all of them and deffinitelly dive deeply into this lore as it is one everyone should really check out. Thanks for this awesome video!
Part two of this SCP is just as amazing as the first one. There amount of detail to other SCPs and deities in the mythos is astounding. Day 221 of asking the O5 to use SCP-1968 to create a universe in which 682 doesn't exist.
This is one of the most interesting SCP videos I've ever watched. I've learned so much, and poor Seth has had to watch all of creation rise and fall. His stories blow Mr. SeaSlug (can't remember his name) right out of the water
@@karpfisch_1499 Not really. If anything, a flying city is easy to contain because it not going anywhere and always in the same spot. Keter for a different reason.
I remember when SCP was just a bunch of disparate short stories with the "anomaly" of the week and now its this big epic MYTHOLOGY with a huge story arc.
Small question: What if you wrote the formula for the "unknowable number" onto scp-682? I don't think it's going to kill 682 (because we'll, yknow) but what's going to happen?
You know that’s most of a cross test with 682 they are flipping through idea after idea and nothing and you keep flipping over that nothing and you keep hopping that somewhere under all of that nothing is something that will kill 682
since it knows what it does, it would probably shedding its skin with the numbers on it, and only its skin would dissapear, and the entirety of the body would remain intact
That sounds like a horrifying idea considering how 682 can absorb these anomalies, that could give it the power to put it on any surface and disintegrate it with ease, or even worse, just gain the disintegration powers outright.
I accidentally lost the home page where it showed up, it appeared in the EXACT same place. *A sign of the Gods* Edit: Jesus Christ this hits different after I watch it
